There is a lot of good sellers and buyers on this site. So use the feedback to find out who your dealing with. As far as the people who manage this site, I haven't come up with a word to describe them yet. Their customer support really needs to be redone. When you have an issue its take about 2 to3 months to get it revolved. So if you had a good experience with a buyer or seller save their contact information. So you can still do business with them with out going through Gunbroker. There is a lot of small mom &pop gun shop that sell on here. Gunbroker also seems to have a very good FFL network. All the FFL's that I have dealt with have been very professional.
After reading reviews for (2) gun selling auctions sites, gunsamerica.com & now gunbroker.com I decided to not list my gun for sale... Buyer & Sellers Beware. Absolutely NO... say it again, NO, customer support for failed transactions. Lets all cancel and shut them down.
I've been selling and buying guns from Gunbroker for about 6 years now and in terms of the transaction, they are usually very straight forward. The problem is not with the transactions between the buyer and the seller. The problem is with the security or lack of security with your credit card information at Gunbroker.
On 2 occasions after I've provided Gunbroker with my credit card info, the info has been hacked and charges made as high as $900 for an air conditioning systems in California. I don't live in California. They had not only the credit card number but the security code as well.
The Gunbroker people are nice enough people but are in over their heads in terms of technology much less security. If you're going to do business with them, you should use one of these cards that you can put only a small amount of money in it to pay for whatever fees they need to charge.
Gunbroker allows their sellers to scam customers. Example, I bid on a plastic ammo box, hold 100 round of 22lr. Box weight 3 ozs. The sellers shipping charge was $40.00, MO to NV UPS Ground. The seller will not give you the shipping costs before you can back out of a deal. Then they say in their ads, we do not make money from shipping costs. What a joke. Gunbroker only wants your money, if they get $1.00 from everyone in the world, they don't have to sell anything.
I bib on several pistol auctions with the same seller. These were "no reserve" auctions. I was the highest bidder until the last day when I was out bid ion the items by the same person. I click on the bidder's list and then click on the same bidder's ratings. Holy Cow... they have 23 pages of bids for this vender with glowing ratings. They would buy 10 or 15 guns a month. It was instantly obvious the scheming vender was bidding up his own "no reserve" items. Looking at the bid history, this has gone on for several years. It then becomes obvious gunbroker.com does nothing to stop this crap. I am done forever with gunbroker! May lawsuits and bankruptcy be their next Christmas gift.
After gunbroker took money for registration they then decided to refuse my activation but never returned the money. Customer service is zero, emails are rude and mechanical. The cost of buying on this site is like buying something for 135% more then you can buy in a store by the time your done with the fees of shipping and paying an ffl. The sellers are greedy fear mongers and unresponsive to problems with your purchases from them. All in all they suck
No problems at all buying new guns. 3 used ones I won were not even remotely close to the descriptions, and pics did not show the damage. Only bid on used guns with detailed descriptions, clear hi-res pics, and ask the seller questions. Do not trust the sellers to be honest. 2 of the 3 were still worth close to what I paid, the last one was a total rip off.
Completed the procedure to register and verify. Everything seemed to work, except when I tried to bid. Then the system said I was suspicious and directed me to another page requesting more information. Why was I approved in the first place. Sent additional info and got the reply they would act in 24 to 48 hours. The Bid item I wanted was only open for 20 hours. Some Site
Waste of my time. Don't specify $1 fee until after verification. Don't mention needing credit card on file, until after bidding. And don't list bid reserves, just state that bid doesn't reach. This site is a waste of time if you have anything else to do.
Recently lost the ability to sign in on GunBroker. Gb response was I had been hacked. They said I needed to change all email account passwords and send them a photo holding my drivers license to prove my identity. After all this my bank account was verified and I thought I was back in business.
I thought it was strange that a hacker would be able to list items under my username but accepted GunBroker response of a hacker.
Fast forward to the next month bill where there are several items listed by an "onsite help ". GunBroker refuses to explain what listings with "onsite help" means. These listings were created by GunBroker with astronomical fixed prices that will never sell but I'm being billed for each listing created.
The canned responses from GunBroker are so frustrating, and you can't speak to anyone at GunBroker I'm left to share this information on forums. I suggest all legit sellers to check your billing information and do an advanced search of completed items under your username ended auctions. Over the last 2 months GunBroker has billed me $350 for false listings created by "ONSITE HELP "
Some of the reviews state I must be some kind of anti-gunner because I gave Gunbroker a negative review. These people would be in awe if they caught a glimpse of the weapons in my gun safe. Thirty guns, including 15 NFA items (SBRs and suppressors), some of them were bought on Gunbroker. I performed as much due diligence on the purchase I was screwed on as any of the others. Gunbroker allowed one of their sellers to steal from me. Gunbroker allows those thieves to sell on their website today.

Purchased a firearm and seller sent me a worn out piece of JUNK. AD showed gun to be in good condition and even said excellent condition but when it arrived it was so worn out and rickety it was unsafe for use. The slide bolt wouldn't even open. Gunbroker did NOTHING to resolve with the seller and I never received a refund. BUYER BEWARE. Spend your hard earned dollars ANYWHERE ELSE!
I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but this is the way I feel...
If you buy from websites based in China, Nigeria, Congo, Namibia, Iran, Syria, etc etc... a good rule of thumb is don't buy technology (phones, computers, cars etc...) and food (baby food, formula etc...).
If you buy anything at all... buy cheap plastic things like cd holders and make sure they aren't priced over $5. This goes for palm reading too.
Also when you order from places like this don't give them a credit card number otherwise you will be overcharged. Use something safer like a disposable credit card that only has $5 of credit.
PS. Don't order more than one item at a time that way your never out more than $5.
I won an auction on gunbroker for a single shot shotgun, mailed a money order to the seller, never got my gun, emailed the seller numerous times. Gunbroker runs a $#*!ty buisness! Do not use this site, you are in great risk!
** UPDATE 3/19/16 - I infact got a refund today directly from the seller, many thanks to him for his willingness to work thing out. Gunbroker customer support has NEVER contacted me even after 3 months...
I have purchased at least four items on Gunbroker.com, and every purchase has been smooth and easy. Every interaction I've had with the sellers has also been quick and efficient. I'm willing to follow their easy to understand procedures, and as such haven't had any difficulties. Thank you.
Purchases a Model 61 for 1200. 00 Great looking rifle but nothing was said of mechanical problems, and I guess I never asked, but anyway, because dealer had listed as no refunds.
Gunbroker said case closed as it was listed as ne returns.
Anyone want a 1200. 00 rifle that does not shoot.
Who ever runs this site could learn a lot from eBay. I tried to update a change of my email address & it is impossible. No response from the people running the site, if there is anyone managing the site at all.
Site is difficult to deal with first of all because there is absolutely no one to talk to other than email, and emails can go up to a week without a response. According to their guidelines, they have limited monetary reimbursement from fraud, and that is not true. I bought a rifle that was absolutely not as described, had irrefutable proof of the transaction and Gunbroker.com chose to do nothing about that. I'd say this makes them a fraud. The system is geared so that they get their money no matter what happens. There's a lot of guns that are being sold as something they aren't, and there is no way of policing any of it. Buyer beware.
After several attempts to make a listing and joining the site I was unable to complete a listing for sale. Feedback was rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. Next month I received a bill for verification $2.00 Same responses after request for cancel. I feel this business will give gun owners and sport/hobby a bad name. Highly not recommended!
Gunbroker is a great site to find what your looking for. The major problem is the bidders out there, people take what would be a fair price for a gun and try and outbid the next person. By doing this they win the bid but end up paying hundreds of dollars more then the gun is worth. Why not let a person get a fair price that bid before you instead of just bidding the price up why past what the gun is worth. That's why I say people are just crazy, not smart.
Answer: Asking the wrong guy, will never return to that site, quite pleased with Auction Arms
Answer: One can hope the FEDS would shut them down you and every one else that uses them is in serious peril from the web site owners. They are the most unethical people you will find, In for the quick buck and non existant customer service. PLEASE try other sites to conduct your legitamite business on GB stinks.
Answer: I would absolutely look locally, ask a policeman where they would recommend you shop or google gun dealers in your area and then check the reviews. Under "no" circumstance would I suggest you do anything with GunBroker except delete, block and ignore. Run form them. Integrity does not exist here. My guns were withdrawn within a week or so of listing and now almost a year later they are still trying to access funds from my credit card. These people are not to be trusted with your personal financial information. Unless of course you enjoy drama, problems and working with people of questionable ethics.
Answer: I paid my seller within hours but he did not like the closing bid so he added a to high shipping. He relisted and sold for more $ and GB branded me a non payer.
Answer: Part of their scam
Answer: How many ways can you spell scam
