Gunbroker sucks

This websites has got to be one of my worst experiences online ive sent them picture after picture of legal documents with my name in address in me holding my id in the only reply i can get is those wont work my account has been locked since I created it im just gonna find somewhere else to give my business to worst customer support ever

Emptor caveat

Let the buyer beware. You may be purchasing from someone who doesn't know their butt from buttons. I purchased a handgun from someone who was not familiar with mailing firearms. My big mistake? I trusted them. I am out my item and $500.00. There is no screening with Gun Broker. Any idiot can sell, buy, set-up a virtual storefront, etc.

I purchased a rifle, paid and submitted FFL immediately. A week went by and no change in the shipping so I messaged the seller with no response a week later. 2 weeks without any communication and not shipping my item seems ridiculous. I'll be purchasing from the shops moving forward.

Update 5/3/2023
Seller finally said "there was a supposed shipping issue" after 3 weeks and that it would be in early week of 4/24. Reached out 4/28 and was told that I would have info by EOD. Nothing and reached again 5/1 with still no response. I just want the rifle or issue a full refund because 5 weeks is REDICULOUS! I run a few businesses and if I did business this way they would all be out of business!

There is no way to contact them other than email to which they DO NOT RESPOND!
Very Very Bad customer service Sent 3 emails with no response over simple questions go to another site to sell your firearms!

It seems that gun broker enjoys charging increasingly high rates and giving little if any customer service. There's no accountability for deadbeat bidders or sellers. If a mistake is made, if there's an issue, you're on your own. You can call whoever you can give it a shot 9 out of 10 They're about as helpful as a brick wall. What's becoming increasingly obvious is the fact that sellers are creating their own fake accounts to bid up their guns. You might want to say that it said that they can't do a better job, considering how obvious the problem is.

I tried 7 times to buy a gun. I put in 3 different credit cards. Even had one onfile. Registered, did everything I was suppose to. It would NOT accept ANY credit card and it was a BUY NOW purchase. No bid, no win. I tried to call and it says to push and extension so I did. It gave a little box that said did this help you and when you pushed "no" it hung up on you. Worst site I've ever seen. If you don't want online business why do you advertise for it.

DO NOT USE GUN BROKER - NO BUYER PROTECTION

Gun broker is a complete fraud. I have used them twice. The first time I said I would never use them again and my dumb self did it again.

The first time I bought a Taurus 40 caliber with 200 bullets. The 240 caliber bullets came, and some really poor packaging. Once they arrived, and I inspected them, they weren't even real bullets. They were fake and re-pack bullets, unsafe to shoot.

The gun was mis titled, and actually not on the gun roster in Maryland. So I was unable to get it from my local FFL. Luckily they were able to put the gun up on some type of court hearing in Maryland. I purchased a gun in January. I was not able to pick up my gun until August later on that year because I had to wait for all of the red tape.

I said I would never use them again, but I made a stupid mistake and did.

I tried to purchase a Sig 556 rifle off of the site for $1400. Which the seller sold to me with no problem. Only to find out that the gun is banned in Maryland. I contacted the seller, he wouldn't take it back. I contacted gun broker and received zero response. I contacted gun broker on November 27 of 2022 via email because there's no other way to get a hold of them, I finally received a response on January 4 of 2023. They said they assume no responsibility for this and I was on my own.

I asked about the buyer protection plan. Got nothing. You have no guarantees. No protection. No support. And the gun might not even be real.

Gun broker is a fraudulent website. They should be reported to the Better Business Bureau by everyone. I have already done so.

Please do not use this website. They have cost me so much time and money. Stay away!

No control over sellers
December 9, 2022

Made a purchase from one of their sellers and was promised fast and priority shipping. I got neither. What should have been a 4-5 day deal has turned in to a 13 day ordeal. I have complained directly to Gunbroker and they have not responded and probably won't. These sleezy sellers seem to be able to do as they please with no responsibility to the buyer. Gunbroker did not waste a second draining my charge card but when it comes to assuring customer satisfaction they are like ghosts in the wind. Last time I tried to present a problem to them it was like arguing with Forrest Gump. I have had enough of this site and will just bite the bullet and shop local,then I would have half a chance to get a problem taken care of

I discovered Gunbroker.com years ago... The last time I used it was in 2016. Then? I went to use it recently ( late November 2022) and found there's a 'triple verification' policy so no matter how long you ( we) were once 'users' of Gunbroker.com- you now have to jump through hoops. The only problem, is that after satisfying ( or so we thought) the 'VERIFICATION' process. They never VERIFY us or give a reason NOT to? Instead? Nothing. Blanco- nothing! So I have to surmise that 'anti-2nd amendment' IDIOTS. Have surrepticiously gotten control ( somehow) of this web-site! Ridiculously, they ask us to fill out a 'SURVEY' as to 'HOW THEY'RE DOING' right after becoming active ( AGAIN) and entering all the VERIFICATION info ( needed) which I held off on (the survey) for a week then blasted them ( seperately from THIS blasting!) So I also surmise that they may vey will be controlled by persons seeking to identify potential firearms sellers/buyers for future reference for the far left. Makes sense, no?

Gunbroker rip off

Don't buy into there buyers protection plan. It's a hoax. I got ripped off for 515.50 sent all the proof and now they won't even respond to me. So just a heads up. Their bpp is nothing more than false advertising and the business on the receipt is who ripped me off

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER...wait,there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.!
Purchased a "Factory New" gun off the site appx. 2-01-22 and when it arrived it was clearly 'USED"...contacting seller did nothing and they finally told me to F*#&-off I was harassing them.
So as per GunBroker site I filed a claim appx. 5 months later...sent all reciepts and info to their claims dept which has insurance up to $400 for damages.
To date,11-29-22 I have heard NOTHING back from GunBroker and there is NO way to contact them again once the claim was submitted...They just keep you hanging...sent them another email 2 weeks ago and again.NOTHING...
I will NEVER buy off their site again...you have no protection.! Way to many scammers on the site,like person I bought from...only accepted USPS Money Orders so cant even file claim with my MC company!
I thought of filing criminal charges due to fact $$ was sent via USPS...but just not worth the hassle.
BAD COMPANY...if something goes wrong your on your own.>!

Don't do it

Used them one time and was robbed over $1,600.00 dollars. Tried to buy a Ruger precision rifle chambered in.338 lapua… A few days after I sent payment, gunbroker sent me an email saying that the transaction was most likely fraudulent. I'm going to stick with cheaperthandirt or grabagun. Never had any issues with these great companies. Oh, and trying to get any reimbursement back is a joke just like their company! I hope they all get monkeypox on their adult parts!

The site Gunbroker.com has many items that may be hard to find or difficult to get in local shops. So it is good to have an expanded shopping available. I have been on GB for over a decade +, and over the years, especially the last year, the site has begun to deteriorate.

There is no customer service for buyers, very little for sellers. And there is no protection for buyers, sellers at least are only out listing fees (if that). As for buyers, there in a buyer protection that covers a maximum $500 (regardless of how much you spend) and out of that $500 GB take $100 as a fee, so max would be $400. I say would be, because they are slow in response, and the responses are boiler plate and they actually never provide a refund, they go around and around.

Now lately with all the changes in the world, the sellers charge fees, pass on the credit card fees, many charge 1.5 times to 3 times the actual shipping costs and about 40-50% of the time you can actually find better deals on other reputable companies websites.

As the the exponential rise of scammers. From sellers performing bait and switch to sellers who are selling using non-reversible forms of payment (i. E. Zelle, cash apps, requesting money orders personal checks, etc).

Overall it is a great site to window shop and to find items that may not be available locally.

As for bottom line advice, I have learned the hard way! 1 - Shop around and find the lowest price on shipping and fees, 2 - I would say not to buy from any sellers who state buyer to pay actual shipping after they have purchased it (get cost prior to bidding) as they tend to charge 2-3 times the actual amount. 3 - using any form of payment that can not be reversed or disputed, i. E. credit card, I would strongly recommend not using personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks, because as soon as you send those forms the money is gone and the seller can not send the item, claim no payment was sent, and so on. Lots of shady folks and scammers on there. And again no buyer support or service.

Only use then if you absolutely can not find the item at any of the 100 other actual businesses that have actual buildings, inventories and websites.

Return of money

I ordered 5000 rods of 9mm for 600 bucks. Somehow they ran the info again for another 600 bucks. Which with as much as I shoot I didn't have a problem.

The problem is the next day they called and wanted 250 bucks for refundable shipping insurance. One the is no such as a refundable shipping insurance after checking into it.

2nd no where in there web site mentions this. I told them I wouldn't pay anything till the ammo was delivered and then we we would revisit the insurance.

They have not refunded the money after they said they wouldn't ship without the insurance. I corresponded several times wanting a refund which they have refused to do.

I am talking with the Idaho Attorney General to see what they can do

Don't ever buy from these folks

I want to make this review as short and sweet as I can. I decided to use this site to sell my daughter's tiny break action shotgun. And if I can go back and stop myself from doing it, I would. First of all fees. Tons of fees. So many fees that you're not going to make anything off the sale, they are. Second of all, lack of responses. You can shoot them a ticket and wait weeks, months, and keep following up with them and rarely ever get a response. Third, they charged me for more than half of what I made on the sale for a shipping service I never used, and took it out of my bank account without my approval. And that took a few months for them to correct and refund. Cut to months later and I have another charge. Apparently my bank was quick to correct gunbroker's mistake and charged them the amount they pulled out of my bank. Also, the amount gunbroker refunded was five dollars and a chunk of change less than what they pulled out of my bank. So, now gunbroker wanted me to pay again, only they wanted the full amount my bank charged them. I paid them the amount they refunded me, the negative five dollar amount. I'm sure they're going to fight me for the five bucks. All this just to sell a simple little cheap break action. I can't be done with them quick enough.
