During my time on this site, I have had the worst experience that I couldve imagined. I was mugged by a guy and his gang, and when I tried to warn others in the area, by writing on my profile, I was permanently banned, with no explanation. His profile was allowed to remain and he met others (probably to groom them. They came and told me). When I tried to complain and get a refund for my annual subscription, all my emails and messages were flat ignored. They had obviously banned my home IP and my phone IPs. There are drug dealers, muggers, con artists, prostitutes, violent people, hidden profiles, no security measures, terrible customer service, it is the most expensive, you get stood up a lot, people are rude, nearly everyone is practicing unsafe sex. I was a victim of crime twice through this site, and they offered absolutely no support or advice, they just banned me for posting a warning statement to my community. It's a terrible site and the owners do not care enough to even explain why you get banned, even when you point out that you are entitled to information under Data Protection laws. They do not deserve their licenses. They should not be trusted with public safety.
I have never used a gay dating site. I am 66 years old and just broke up with my partner. I joined Grindr because I knew my partner had used the site. Boy, was I naive. Most of the participants wanted to meet at my place only. Sounds like a great way to look over my residence for future burglary! And some participants sounded like trash. Maybe I'm living in the past, but with all the other comments I've read from other reviewers, it sounds like Grindr is a trap and a snare.
This grindr app is becoming so frustrating to use. As a free member I have no issues with watching short ads to help keep grindr free however now you can no longer browse in privacy because most ads come along with full volume sound and now going for more than 10 seconds, further more ads that won't closer and when they do just go to another ad. Clearly their bots don't work very well either so many and constantly profiles messages and taps either fake, escort/massage or leading to external sex sites. Constant app updates that never seem to resolve other issues on the site. It's certainly not the way to inspire me to pay for a membership to a site that is so unstable
Lack of any verification or photo or phone verification.
As a result, I've seen numerous illegal content, fake profiles of people pretending to be other people and anyone joining at any age.
Grindr aren't taking ownership of this seriously huge safety concern that is a wide spread issue and not just a odd individual case, as the reviews clearly show.
Their report "system" is none exsiting.
Needs to be passed on to authorities, as this is a safety concern in regards to verification and protecting others.
Basically the worst. Where to begin? Respect is given and (handsomely) paid (and ohhhh my how expensive Grindr+ costs!) for this atrocity app - the first of its kind me thinks. Technically it buggy AF. It crashes constantly and "lost chats" is so common it should be a pre loaded 'saved phrase' feature. This gay legacy is stacked with users who are whack: catfishes, time wasters, bullies, bluffers and bots.
I can attest that yes good dudes and times are to be had on the platform, but they are few and far between. You (or some Jack-off) will waste countess, precious hours of your life - usually during a time of dire need (and vulnerably) when you genuinely were seeking satisfaction and socialization. The app has killed many young homo's swagger, their social skills and decimated the culture of cruising and nightlife industry. However, Grindr is not intrinsically a bad platform or novelty, but would the world be a better place without the orange scourge: ohhhhh Yes.
Total losers. These guys havent a clue how to manage an app. Get a real job and provide a legit service..
Never response to the emails, don't care, then you can not delete your account and all your personal photos and information show in public while you're banned.
Evil costumer service. Evil company.
I made an unlimited subscription (60 dollars per month in my country). Grindr banned me without explanation when I had 1.5 months left. They didn't even bother to answer when I contacted them despite making me lost more than 60 dollars. They seem to have 0 respect for their customer, you should look on the Internet they have shady practices (HIV scandal)with using your data and don't seem to respect RGPD/GDPR. If you still use this app don't subscribe to anything + signal the app to google/Apple!
Plus honestly, WTF do I have to actually say yes to everyone to be sure not to be ban? Does Grindr promote rape or sexual aggression?
Grindr is the most ridiculous app out there.
It bans you for no legit reason other then someone not handling rejection very well. You reject someones advances & they report you for a bannable offence, that you're innocent of?
When will grindr wake the F up?
If the countless fake profiles and scammers don't frustrate you, Grindr will just ban you for no reason and keep your prepaid annual subscription. It's a criminal enterprise.
Grindr will ban you and they will Just take someones word for it
About 1 hour ago some Local people nearby messaged me on a fake Blank account they said send $#*! pic i said face pic he said " your pic gets mine " i said i'm not playing your childish games so then he said your fake you always use the same pic i said at least i got 3 face pic unlike you so then he decides to report me for not sending him my nude pic and i'm banned on his word and say so yet No proof or Questions asked
Grindr recently banned my account one month after purchasing a one-year subscription saying my profile had been reported for engaging in "spammy" activity which it defined as "attempts to solicit another user's personal information or prompting users to visit outside links," neither of which I have done. When I asked them to provide a specific instance of my doing what they alleged, they wouldn't respond, nor would they refund the cost of the 11 months remaining on my subscription.
Grindr uses your private information do not give this app your credit card information or your phone number. Also a lot of drug dealers on
Same as everyone: After five years with the same profile, they blocked with with no warning, saying (FALSELY) there was something hateful or racist about it. To my inquiries they sent two automated message, them cut me off from the help site. No warning, no explaination, no refund.
And they mention for me to turn off my automatic payments, which I think is a cover your $#*! thing for them so they can keep charging you if you happen to forget, even though you are shut out. I encourage everyone to SEND A COMPLAINT to the Better Business Bureau, who have already revived quite a lot (you can view on their site).
If you are interested in meeting people in real life this is not the app anymore. Bunch of BS is all
Banned for nothing took my money and didnt give a flying $#*!e about it. If you pay for a subscription they will just randomly ban you and keep your money and this is somehow legal?
UNREASONABLE, DISGUSTING ILLEGAL ACTS!
Blocked my NEW PHONE for NO REASON! I did not even have time to upload my photo! What the H*LL IS GOING ON?
Talking with support, I've been asked TONS of questions about my iOS, my this and that, and then they wrote that "my answers do not comply with their standards" (what is that even?) and that they can block whoever they want for no reason.
What the h*ll is going on and how is that even legal? Are they promoting coronavirus by blocking people so that they meet whoever they can elsewhere without too much of consideration? Did they sell the app to someone anti-LGBT? What is even going on?
My grindr account was banned for no reason and After asking multiple times Grindr is refused to give me a detailed reason as to what happened. I received no warning to edit my profile if I did violate anything and Grindr refuses to Lift the ban or pay back the money I paid upfront for my membership that is supposed to end dec 2020. Just a bunch of crooks ready to steal your money.
Someone please create a new and improved app to compete with this p. O. s. The same complaints as everyone else. Bots, WAY TOO MANY LENGTHY ADS, I've heard a horror story of a very intelligent guy being blackmailed and Grindr not helping in any way. AND, the pic issue. There is NO rhyme nor reason to their approving pics. Mine for example is me, seated in public, fully dressed, a shirt and conservative j crew shorts - deemed "to sexual" / inappropriate - wtf? Meanwhile, one member is wear a g-string the size of dental floss, with one leg up on a railing? Another on all fours in a speedo, testicles hanging... neither cute, neither hot. So, it is very strange to me. Different rules for different folks. That doesn't work for me.
THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! WE SHOULD ALL COMPLAIN!
I have just been discriminated by Grindr support for NO reason. They just banned my profile RIGHT AFTER I created it - they say I "violated some guidelines", which I DIDN'T (in fact, I had even no time to fill out my profile OR even to talk to someone!), and they refused to lift the ban for no reason. The support member told me somebody reported me and does not even give me a reason - for what. I am 100% sure I did not even talk to anyone, NOR did I write anything unusual in my profile (again, I had no time to even finish it).
I live in Brussels and I am planning to go tomorrow to complain to the European Commission as they already had ethnicity discrimination issues, but this is now UTTER INSANITY! They are discriminating gay people AT RANDOM!
THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW IN EUROPE!
Answer: 19.99. But chances are high that they will ban your profile after you've paid for subscription. Grindr has taken to stealing money from consumers by banning accounts without giving any reason. My patience ran out and I switched to http :// GCamsYou.com I like it much better! Boys provide great entertainment and solid support. No tricks with bogus charges and sudden ban. The best thing was actually having two dates offline! It's early days and I'm going with the flow and see where it goes, but so far it's the best platform I have dealt with. Don't waste your time on Grindr! They have lost touch with reality and turned into a total fraud. Catastrophic quality of people - scammers, bots, fakes, drug-dealers, etc and sneaky "support"! They don't police their own platform and don't value their customers anymore.
Answer: Grindr will only help you if you're straight or bi. They encourage homophobia and homophobic remarks and I have reported someone in the past, but because he was straight, he didn't get banned.
Answer: Yes. Please contact me at petermanwally@gmail.com. I'd like to know more about pursuing legal recourse.
Answer: Because Grindr is inconsistent. What do you expect from a less than mediocre website and obtuse management
