Happy thus far to outsource finding dates to a real person as opposed to robots at match.com. Easy to communicate with my matchmaker who understood my needs quite well. We literally had a 2 1/2 hr fun and insightful interview. Appreciate the time spent with me. Crossing my fingers. All else hasn't worked so I said why not - try a new approach. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And bonus - it has freed up some of my time. Best, David.

So some quick hits from my first 2 months:
Matchmaking: good if you're a busy professional or hate the Apps as they scour every nook and cranny for matches and follow with background checks. They basically do the work for you with better screening tools. Month to month membership so I like that.
Momentum add on: I didn't require it. Supposedly useful for those who need a assistance/advice post-introduction
Coaching: I just added it because I wanted some help with my offline game and do not have any single gay friends to bounce ideas off of. It is month to month as well.
Overall: 4/5

Dating app fatigue brought me to a personal matchmaking service and gayquation. I found them on a random search and happy I did. They do all the work for me from screening to vetting so it does help skip several steps for me and save a ton of time. It's not an excuse as my coach has, rightfully so, suggested I keep my eyes open as well. But it's nice having someone speed up the process and wittle away the BS out there.

My experience: I was very nervous before coming in. As it was the first time and I did not know what to expect. However, when I got in and spoke with Nick I felt more relaxed, also seeing all of the other newly out people there as well was reassuring. Friendly, felt very protected and safe with my information. Nick is very frank and realistic in his approach. It was not so daunting as I thought it would be. Also, the masterclass helped me to identify what the important "deal breakers" are for me. The advice given gave me the confidence to ask what was important to me and how to ask these questions. When I got to my first meet itself, I was much more relaxed and confident – something I have never felt in that type of situation.

Julian and Chris were so patient with me as I am picky and I want what I want. I gave very stringent criteria for their search. I have been unsuccessful in relationships and have been taken advantage of and hurt by numerous men that I had kind of threw in the towel and was skeptical. However, Gayquation helped me meet Edward and Juan. Although, they turned out to be friends the last introduction that came as a surprise "bonus" match actually turned my head. So far its going well with Malcom and although we are not exclusive just yet we are on our way there and I couldn't be happier. Just wanted to say thanks to Julian and Chris for their time, effort, and expertise. Crossing my fingers and wish me luck.

I am happy to have found these guys. 2020 was a forgettable in so many ways. Vaxxed, it's summer and able to travel. I am sure, like most, we are all busy socializing to catch up for lost time. At my age, a ripe 62, a little assistance goes a long way and it has. Along the way, made a new friend with whom I'll visit the Cape with this summer. In the meantime, crossing fingers on a friend AND lover. I appreciate the support and understanding.

I appreciate their Covid response and being quite responsible and dedicated to the safety of their clients, especially us gentlemen over a "certain" age. They did not prevent us from meeting in person but they gave the option of a virtual meeting, like a zoom call. I appreciated this as well because I'm also a busy professional who travels a lot, even during these times but did want to make sure I connected with my matches within a fairly reasonable amount of time. I also appreciate that they listen to feedback. I mentioned one small change they could make on their online questionnaire and poof!... within one day they made the change. Keep up the good work fellas and the work you do within the LGBT community. Love does win.

I wanted to give a little shout out to my little team at gayquation. Not just for all the help they've provided me over the past 7 months, but for the patience they've shown me with all my peccadilloes. I tried back in the early 2000s but it seemed you lost some value using a service like that. Things sure have changed and the stigma of being "desperate" or "updateable" are out the window. I am happy to hear that from my matchmaker from GQ when he approaches prospective bachelors on my behalf, whether within or outside their database. I was surprised to hear that well more than 90% of respondents are ok with being matched with someone who has hired a matchmaker. It's also a testament to their hip feel and non-traditional approach. But it seemed you lost some value using a service like that. Things sure have changed and the stigma of being "desperate" or "updateable" are out the window. I am happy to hear that from matchmaker from GQ when he approaches prospective bachelors on my behalf, whether within or outside their database.

I appreciate the fast-track to quality dates and coaching provided to me to help move the dates along. I had no clue what I was doing and the lgbt meetup group suggestion, if anything, has helped me make new friends. My one negative is it's a little outside my budget but comparatively to what I've seen in the industry it's very good.

I had recently signed up and was excited to get started. But then Covid hit and I was furloughed so I was not sure it was a good use of my discretionary income at that time and in the event my situation would prolong. I was assigned a matchmaker but I cancelled my membership before my interview. Customer service was exceptional. They quickly responded, and this was a Saturday, understood my situation and refunded my membership fee. From the limited time spent with them I was very impressed. They were patient and accommodating. In fact, my matchmaker also reached out to confirm the refund, to wish me safe and well, and to say he hopes he has the opportunity to work with me in the future. Good and appreciated quality control which I require... as bad a judge of character I am, especially on these dating apps :) I blame my mother for this - she was too trusting. Haha

I appreciate what my Coach/Matchmaker (Nick) helped me through. I am HIV poz and I live in the Bible belt - and my closet door has not swung all the way open. I also felt like I had bled dry the entire single gay scene, whatever that may be, in my area. He turned up some guys I would not even known had existed before coming to him. Yes I am still a member which means we've not found the love of my life... yet... but I remain hopeful. He discloses my status, makes sure they are ok with it, and I got some dates that helped me learn a lot about myself, what I was looking for and how to improve a first date - like body language, energy, what to look for, etc. Thank you Nick for building my confidence up. Glad to have you on my team. Let's shoot for the moon and hopefully by the end of this year, we find HIM. Sincerely, Ben

The coaching is just what the doctor prescribed. I wish it could be every week though, which is my only little negative. Otherwise nothing but praise. The suggestions and tips did help me work through a lot of issues I was facing. My offline approach was lacking so that really changed with the coaching. Most must feel the same problem, in that gay men have a knack of disappearing but I have been able to temper my expectations and move introduction along into something more. Nudge it, don't push as my coach says. With no gay male friends in my life, the sounding board and advice has been invaluable to me. I am appreciative. Even if I am paying for it, thank you in all sincerity. =)

Dating in the internet era can be frustrating and more than a little annoying. After many years using a variety of self-service websites like Match and many others, I decided to "outsource" my search by hiring a matchmaker. From the start, Nick has been thoughtful and encouraging. We've been working together for more than a year now, and while I've only connected with a handful of men and none of the connections have led to dating relationships, all of Nick's referrals have been reasonable and within my parameters. Yes, some proved to be flakey, but I realized early on that Nick is a guide to help navigate the dating waters -- he's not a miracle worker who can make "the one" suddenly appear. I remain impressed by how hard Nick works for his clients, and I'm hopeful that one day soon he'll make that special match.

The Kayak of matchmaking - that is the best way I can describe when friends ask me to. If not sure, start with 2 intros and work your way up to get a grasp of the process and type of guys you will be presented. A senior matchmaker is assigned if you elect for 4 per month. Happy to know there are no contracts. When you see is what you pay with the match guarantee which helps those who "picky" like me and live in a non-metro area. My phone interview, which lasted over an hour, was also very thorough.

Dating in Tampa was very frustrating until a friend referred me to GayQuation. Proud to write this review and call Nick and Greg my friends. They have always been responsive, attentive and Nick provides me invaluable advice during our coaching sessions. If people think matchmaking is easy, they may want to remember the reason why we chose to try it in the first place. Lol I am sure I am not the only one where this is their first go around. Regardless, I am aware they have their work cut out for them, especially in our community. How many gay men do you believe are genuinely looking for something of substance? Needle in a haystack? Perhaps not. But they do yeoman's work in filtering out the duds and keeping my best interest at heart when saying yes to the potentials. I clearly don't have the time and, humbly, even the know-how to do it. :) I have terrible judgement in men and honestly can be a little gullible.
