Geez really? Ok, need to clarify this: I originally had a profile up on POF and Andreas (a Gayquation Senior Matchmaker) approached me and asked if I wanted to be introduced to his GAYQUATION client Jonas. Andreas sent over his pic, I said he sounded interesting and to set up an instadate. And THEN later I signed up as a GAYQUATION member. So this review is not of POF. I will review them seperately as I have been on their site for awhile and its hit or miss for me.
Was approached to be a match on plenty of fish to one of their clients. Read the site, sounded good. Signed up and interviewed with Andreas, cool guy and easy to talk to within 2 weeks maybe sooner I was introduced to 2 guys both sexy and fun to be around. Next guy was not my type let Andreas know I'm not into blonds then after that he made sure to send me the type of guys like a guy next door type. So far I have had a good experience, month to month so no complaints there. I am still waiting for them to send me the love of my life so thats why only 4 stars but I'm having a great time dating who they send till my future husband comes my way. Thanks guys keep up the great work
I was quite hopeful in signing up with Gayquation.com as it appeared to be a novel approach to finding quality guys. Wow, was I disappointed. I was assigned a SENIOR matchmaker but for various reasons it all fell flat. First of all, I received very few referrals and, although I completely understand that good matches cannot be guaranteed to occur, the referrals I got were nowhere near compatible. One referral claimed that he was stuck in another country on business and wanted me to wire him some money. Another 3 referrals never bothered to respond to me despite my very long, detailed and quite revealing emails to them. Other referrals had wrong information in the profiles provided to me ranging from the wrong age, wrong interests, and even wrong sexual position (which, really, is important and crucial in having a lasting relationship). I sent more than one very specific email to my matchmaker and asked very pointed questions. NONE of those questions ever got answered and it has now been months since I sent them. The only response I keep getting are canned answers such as "it's difficult" or "I'm trying really hard". How about at least verifying the information on the guy's background? Ideally, speak to that person and confirm the information you're about to send to me. If you don't speak to that person, how is it that the matchmaker is able to say things like "I found John to be sincere and honest"? You can't get that kind of impression just reading someone's bio. You need to actually speak and interact with that person. Or, at the least, how about sending a draft of what you're about to send to me and ask the guy "I'm about to send the attached to John. Is all the information in it correct to your knowledge?" It seems like all of my questions, and all of my comments and suggestions, were completely ignored. I highly recommend that you stay away from this site and save your money. Frankly, it's pretty much of a scam. For the monthly payments you make, you'll be sent referrals that are unlikely to be any guys of value. You'll probably, like me, get your hopes up and think "Hmmm, maybe I should just stay with Gayquation for a bit longer just in case the next referral is a good one" Well, I tried that and I have to say that all of the anxiety and hassle I endured for the few months I was a member actually made my life WORSE in having to deal not just with sketchy referrals, but with a matchmaker who was non-responsive and ineffective.
Thank you Ross for your review as we take every one quite seriously and make changes to help improve the services we offer. Gayquation does it’s best to provide quality introductions for its clients every month – in fact they are guaranteed, something many matchmaking agencies do not provide. We are proud to provide that guarantee and one reason for that is because we do venture outside our database to qualify eligible men on your behalf. The LTR-seeking gay male population is very small, as we know, so like headhunters we go find them, wherever we can. Rather than the “old school” approach of matchmaking we do not force client-to-client intros who may not have anything in common or have what you’re looking for, physically and personally. If they exist, we will find them!
I do hope you give us another opportunity, especially with all our new improvements and added features – while still the same low price that we have not increased in several years and will continue to remain.
