They sell "upgrade" keys but do not make it readily apparent that the key is infact for an upgrade only. I can only assume this is done with intent given the key was to upgrade a game which you can't even buy the base version of anymore. Realizing my mistake after trying to use the key and it being rejected (and their shady practice of not making it apparent it's an upgrade), i requested a refund and they provided the refund policy which basically notes they CAN refund it, but choose not to.
Seriously, they could make a button you have to acknowledge that something is an upgrade or anything like that, but I can only assume they choose not to as they would sell less of these old and useless keys that way.
They cite the fact that they can't resell the CD key once I've seen it, which is a valid argument except for the fact that they're not going to sell them all at this point anyway (old game you can't even buy the base version of now) and they could relist the key and assist the subsequent customer assuming I did actually use it (I very obviously didn't which is safe to assume given my extensive purchase history with them).
All in all, i'm out a couple bucks as the cost of this lesson and will take my business elsewhere in the future.
Green Man Gaming's customer support is absolutely terrible. While they might get back to you quickly, their responses lack any real substance and are often misleading. It's clear that I'm not alone in experiencing payment problems when trying to make a purchase. I cannot recommend this company.
I had been a dedicated customer for many years, but will never again spend another dollar to support this company. An expensive game was purchased in error, refund requested within 3 minutes, never saw or activated the code, and was quickly denied assistance by their "support" team. I will now be supporting their competitors who are willing to do the right thing.
Keep getting "Your account has not been activated" error when logging in for the 1st time. Now getting locked out because I have tried to sign up so many times. Well, I guess you don't want my money then. Looks like a proper dodgy scam site with strangely cheap AAA games anyway. Don't want to add "proof of purchase" because that is none of sitejabbers business.
Once they've sold you a key, they have your money and nothing else matters to them. Customer service's job appears to be to tell you no. They sold me a key that I can't use and now they're refusing to do anything about it. They've lost a customer for life over $20 and I still can't play the game they sold me.
Since more than a year can't make purchase from Turkiye. Thats spoken in all gaming forums. Support always says product not available atm. Yesterday I tried 30 products 1 by 1, all rejected. Wrote to support, answer was same"the product not available atm". And I wrote that I tried 30 products 1 by 1. My support ticket in zendesk is closed without answer and rated as "good, Im satisfied" xD how they do that I dont know but this company is clearly scam
Purchased a game today. Was supposed to go to Uplay to get it, well Uplay was replaced by Ubisoft Connection. Game is not in my account. Emailing support, at least 3 people have responded in the email chain but they do not even bother looking at previous emails. All just say download Uplay and it will be there. Screen shots they send out, I do not think even exist anymore. Tried calling, of course, cannot talk to anyone. Trying to get money back since I cannot get game. Support has been worthless so far. Will have to try to cancel through Paypal.
Refund policy = no refunds possible. I purchased a game for my son and purchased it for the wrong platform. I realized my mistake and requested a refund. Because they had sent the key they would not provide a refund, even though the key had never been used or even accessed. Their policy clearly states that refunds are at their discretion, so they choose not to give refunds (apparently over and over again, based on the multiple reviews of the same nature).
Trustworthy and reliable.
I've used them a good few times now, they have some good deals but the trust factor in particular is excellent.
I should mention they have a really good UI. The integration with Steam and Uplay is easy and breezy. I really like the Uplay connect feature where you can automatically redeem games on your Uplay account just by logging in. (and it keeps you logged in if you like)
Great site, I really recommend them.
I bought presell of last of us remake. The game has several issues that cannot be run on PC. People are requesting refund from steam due to this issue and they got refunded. I haven't redeem the key yet, I contact GMG for a refund. They said they will not refund even if it's the game problem. Horrible!
I bought a key at this store, because of the false description and my false researches.
It was a key for a game I already had.
I immediatly contacted the support, and even showed my Steam Profile.
But they refused to refund me, because it was already disclosed by "email."
So they sent me the email with the key, after the purchase, and tell me, they cant refund me.
I recommend any other serious store, who refund you unclaimed keys.
But here you get scamed
Unlike any decent key selling website where you need to uncover the key code with a scratchcard like thing to uncover your code, these clowns send you the code and thats it, thats enough for them to refuse a refund.
I now buy almost all my PC games from this website, there are always amazing deals no matter the time of year! Perfect for new release games that don't get discounted elsewhere! Ive been a member since 2013 and have never been disappointed with their sales.
I'm amazed how many good deals they have to offer. Bought most of the games that I wanted ant they were quite a bit cheaper than usual. I couldn't be more happy with what they provided.
I purchased a video game serial key from Green man gaming. The key did not work, I tried several different ways to activate the game and it did not work. Then I contacted Green man gaming to report the issue, I was told that I was either using a VPN (meaning I was not in the country of residence I had specified) and I must contact the VIDEO GAME DEVELOPER about the issue. I escalated this issue with pay-pal. Green man gaming also have indicated in their user agreement that they cannot respond to pay-pal issues WITHIN 100 DAYS of the query being issued. The serial key later worked and I indicated it had worked, I WAS THEN TOLD AGAIN TO CONTACT THE DEVELOPER ABOUT THE ISSUE. It seems what ever is happening at Green man gaming is highly suspicious and they don't actually offer any actual help when there is an issue.
So far, web sites easy to find their way, in addition to everything's layed out sufficiently which it's easy to locate what you are looking for, for the software you are looking for, consequently Now I'm amazed total.
Can't full the review nevertheless, as that is our first invest in below And it's a pre-order, so until I can download and play the game (November 10th), I can't grant a perfect review just yet. So far it seems like everything's looking good for a 10 star (on the 5 star scales) review though. Keep up the awesome job Green Man I love to visit www.couponchief.com/greenmangaming, loving the experience thus far! Will grant the last star once I'm enjoying Fallout!
This website is amazing. I've bought a few games and I'm happy so far. Not only they have many games but their deals are also very cool.
Secure, fast, good sales and on top of that they always have some coupons to make the deals even better.
Sites like this one are making the Steam Sales look less impressive than what they once were.
Their policy is no refunds after they provide you with the keys. They keys are provided on purchases making a refund impossible in all scenarios.
Beware of purchasing from them. I purchased Age of Empires IV and they sent out an e-mail that they will be revoking the key.
Answer: Bad thought process. Big mistake. I thought they were cheaper, but it turns out they're thieves
