Grammarly

I use the last version of word in a windows 10 computer. I'm writing my thesis and grammarly seemed like a great idea, but in reality it doesn't work for office word. It makes it incredibly slow and 99% corrects what is suggested in the wrong place, for example adding a comma that was suggested in the middle of a word instead of at the end of the word. I lost my money and time trying to make it work. If you are writing a short letter or email it's great. For real academic world it's not.

My experience with Grammarly has been nothing short of transformative. As a tool that seamlessly integrates with my daily writing, it not only corrects my grammar and spelling in real-time but also enriches my vocabulary and sentence structure, ensuring my messages are clear and impactful.

I am currently working on a doctoral degree and am in the early stages of preparing to write my dissertation. I have Grammarly embedded in my Word application, my email, my internet browser, my text messages, and several other editing applications that I use. I love how it has professionalized my written communications. Many people know you only by your written communications and Grammarly has vastly improved my ability to make a great first impression. I am only using the free version, I cannot imagine how much better I could be with a premium subscription.

I am disappointed at Grammarly's way to do business. I needed to update my form of payment. The payment on the renewal page showed $69.97 I entered my new card info and as soon as I het "send" Grammarly confirm pricing for $139.95 Really? The way the info is presented is misleading. Such a poor business practice. They will tell me to be on the outlook for promos. That is not the point. Customers must know how much they will be charged IN ADVANCED, and not after the fact.

The following product is among the best correction applications; I have gone from bad to good in writing. Thank you very much, Grammarly. First, I made a document discussing the universe and specific theories about it, and then I wrote many other things just to see the full power of this, and guess what? It is more than I expected. The overall rate is good. But I can't stand for the Grammarly A. I. tells me to put "a" instead of "the" and soon as I correct that, the same A. I. tells me that's wrong. And what the A. I. shows is "a" is correct. Things like that happen quite often. I'm not an English native but sometimes it gets on my nerve real bad and drives me crazy, really. Except that, as a professional writer, journalist and had three books published, the same service does my home language of Japanese and even I'm not having any contract or sign up for Japanese, they step in and tell me that I'm wrong. English-wise it is very helpful. But sometimes, they get on my nerves big time. So not full five stars.

As a frequent social media content creator and storyteller (some true), I have used the free version of Grammarly for about a year. If I depended on my writing skills as a means of financial support, I am sure I would upgrade to a premium account. For my use, the Grammarly free edition is about all I need. I do get hints on actual grammar use such as run-on sentences, proper spelling, punctuation, and how my posts appear to others who have read my content. I have not found another free program or app that can compete with Grammarly. It sits quietly in the background and allows me to complete my entire post or email without the loss of my thought process. After I am satisfied with my content, I go back and look at all the suggestions offered by Grammarly, and almost always accept the recommendations offered by the program. I often wonder about the effectiveness of the premium thanks to the embedded notices but as a senior citizen on a limited budget, I just can not justify the cost.

Grammarly corrects me when it needs to correct me. Grammarly helps me when needed and I am 21 years old and Grammarly is really helpful. Grammarly is so helpful when I have an essay to write because then after the essay I can go to Grammarly and see what words need to be fixed.

I am retired and use it mostly for texts, emails, and letters. Anytime I am typing or dictating whether on my phone or computer, Grammarly integrates seamlessly into the process to make suggestions. The suggestions are helpful and easy to dismiss should you decide to do so. I am not aware it has slowed anything down. I am using the free version and I feel it is an asset to my writing by helping me avoid punctuation, grammar, or spelling errors. I haven't found any downsides. See the example below which shows what you will see if Grammarly has a suggestion. I purposely left out the word "an".
