FRAUD

We signed up for Grammarly for 1 year for my daughters MBA dissertation. A year later and after she graduated my credit card was billed again without prior email or announcement.

It's a business practice that is unacceptable. I reported it to AMEX as a fraudulent charge and was issued a new credit card.

There is no reachable customer service and all I have read here by Ann E. Are lies. This company is unwilling to return fraudulent changes and will just ignore you.

If they ever charged your card, replace that card because otherwise they will charge you forever.

Good but i'd rather not pay

I love this app, use it every day. I'm even using it as I type this! However, I am aware the premium offers more services, and I get that you need to make money to keep the app going, but could it be so hard to offer more services to the free version--for people like us poor students? Or at least lower the cost? It seems that everyone is paying far too much for something as simple as a grammar checker. Other than that, I'm practically married to this app and I hope it's not going anywhere anytime soon. There are three advanced issues in this text, but I can't afford the premium, so I guess I'll never know...

Great customer support!

Grammarly CS Team was excellent when I needed to change email addresses. They provided clear guidance, were extremely fast in the conversation, and did a great overall job.

Appreciate the truly grammatical suggestions, but use of commas and failure to recognize uncommon but proper word usage is a pain. Being asked to pay, once or twice, is expected, but every five minutes gets old. For many people, however, will be a good learning tool, so good luck.

TERRIBLE CUST. SERVICE
September 15, 2023

The back and forth via email is ridiculous. With a five-minute phone call, we could have solved something that - as of today - is still not solved. Most of the instructions I'm told to do are outside of my technical expertise, and I don't have time to sit here and try and figure it out. I am a busy editor and have a duty to my customers to be fast. They've wasted my time so many times. They can't afford live chat? Then revamp your business plan to include real customer service, not the quasi-help you offer.

As a writing instructor, I HATE this app! Not only does it not catch many errors (even ones that MS Word grammar check does), it deletes necessary parts of speech and replaces them with bizarrely incorrect punctuation marks. For example, it'll take out words necessary for a complete sentence and replace them with the punctuation marks,"... WHY? Students, please do not use this app. Proofread your own work, and talk to a real person, like a tutor or writing center employee instead.

Terrible Support

I paid for a premium account, and then was unable to access my account. Sent in multiple requests for help and still have not received any. They have no phone support and you must rely on their help link which doesn't get any response!

It's terrible. Advertisements make it even more unbearable. I teach non-native English speakers grammar, and many of them ask about using software like this. I tried it, and it's hardly any better than the one for Microsoft Office (which my university already pays for).

Great little helper

So far so good

I like it, it automatically corrects me and changes orthography by itself. I would like to have its premium, but for me that I live in Latin America is expensive. If my company would have it would be great, but again, an expense they don´t consider. People don´t see the power of grammar! It really makes the difference between good or bad publicity! I believe in Grammarly, and even sometimes seems a little bit odd... I just follow because I trust in your work. I love that you place the "feeling" of the text, a great way to create learning from the tool :D

When I purchased my subscription, they separated the errors by type - punctuation, grammar, conciseness, etc. Five months into my one year contract, they totally changed the way in which the checker works so I can no longer see categories such as punctuation, or spelling. Instead, they have categories that are relatively useless. The only way that I can review a document is by looking through EVERY SINGLE edit they recommend - most of which are incorrect BTW - which requires me to review things I don't need. I requested a refund since I can no longer use their service in the new format and their response was "oh, we're sorry. The contract says no refunds." So now I have 7 months of a totally worthless subscription. Apparently, they can change the contract without your consent, but keep the money. Unethical company - and their edits are mostly wrong too. Not recommended.

It seems like I type so fast that I don't often realize when I make an error but Grammarly is kind enough to show me what's wrong with either my punctuation or spelling and I truly do appreciate the help!

I'm now slowing down a bit and making sure my grammar is proper, things are capitalized that need to be and I seen to always forget to put a comma after I type and... sometimes too! I'm really grateful
For the help so I don't look like a real dummy when I send out emails, so thanks a million!

Great but...
November 13, 2020

Grammarly has been very helpful so far in helping me with writing papers and emails. However, I find that it is a bit unfair to not have a program where students can have full easy access to the Premium version. Also, all of my professors want me to write in Word, and for some reason, Grammarly just doesn't work there. It is only until I copy and paste my entire paper into a random text box is when Grammarly works. It would just help me out more if Premium was more accessible to students.

Scam alert!

Automatic renewal of the product without prior notice. Grammarly should fix this, at least send an email informing the person if they still want to continue with the subscription. It is clear that this is double-dealing and a scam.

Valuable writing tool

I've been searching for grammar app for a long time, but after installing Grammarly there is no reason to search any more. The app is great and helps me to deal with minor mistakes each day on Gmail, Wordpress, Stackoverflow and other sites. Also it's free to use if don't need to write more than 200 words a day. It helped me tremendously write work emails, business reports, and even text messages. I have more confidence in all my writings, and Grammarly is one productive tool I cannot live without each day. Really helpful

I love this app! Very useful and does exactly what its intended for. The reason I'm giving it 4/5 stars is because the keyboard doesn't give you the option of replying to anything with a gif, so you would have to change your default keyboard entirely just to use a gif (animated meme). Please make that an option in the future.
