I purchased a new unit in Aug 2021 with a 5 year warranty. In May 2022, the unit wasn't cooling correctly, I contacted the dealer that installed the unit, it had lost half the amount of coolant, somehow with no apparent leaks. Had the coolant refilled and no further issues. Coolant wasn't covered under the warranty, $128. June 2023, unit wasn't cooling properly, again, called the dealer that installed the unit, had to recharge coolant level. $168, not covered under warranty. July 2024, again unit isn't cooling properly. Dealer that installed the unit wouldn't call me back, so I looked up additional dealers, called 3 and got one to actually show up. Quoted 99 service fee, as "labor" isn't covered under warranty. Capacitor was bad, $15 part was covered. Labor = $348 for 45 min worth of work. Highway robbery by their "dealers" which I now understand because no one outside of their "dealers" will touch this product. Brand new, obviously defective unit has now cost me $644 in maintenance cost even though it's under "Warranty". Buyer Beware.
My Goodman HVAC unit is less then 6 years old and I've already spent $3500.00 in repairs. I highly recommend not purchasing their product.
I have a Goodman central A/C and electric heater 4T installed by Alltek on August 2020,and that piece of crap literally get broken every 3 or 6 month's one time almost my house get fire because the inside unit a relay get overheat and melted. Now looking for legal advice to lawsuit this company because made a faulty very bad quality and dangerous products.
We bought 3 Goodman units for our house 3 years ago. The smallest of the 3 systems which is for master bed and bath has been broke more than it has worked. The main drain pan had hairline crack found 2 years after purchase leaked water inside system and every month it died my installer literally stop taking service calls on it because they are so bad. I have the nest thermostat which shows ALL 3 systems run an average of 15hrs a day they do not cool my house they just increase my energy bills I have solar, with my previous 20 year old system my electric bill was $30 with these Goodman systems it's $450 or more per month they are total trash.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I am tempted to rip them out and replace with another brand. How could a 2ton system not cool one bedroom?
I have new windows and doors throughout my house it is not from poor insulation it's these AC systems I set it at 76 it runs continuously and can't hit target. Even last winter in Florida my house was 65 degrees the heat didn't even work. I freeze in winter and sweat to death in summer. Also last photo is in May still showing unit running up to 16 hrs a day! 3 systems same issue this cannot be a lemon these are BAD systems.
Very expensive lesson in more ways than one.
Daily headache
Bought 2 heat pump systems in June 2021. Within 6 weeks air handler motor died. It happens. 1 year later replaced run capacitor. It happens. 2 years later I am sitting in 98 degree weather going on day 13 with A/C. Compressor died and they don't have the part. Warranty states they will replace unit. Goodman will only replace unit if I buy a new air handler and then pay for install costs for both units (thousands of dollars). Impossible to get hold of anybody other than a cookie cutter representative. I will have to pay $1500 for labor install if I ever receive compressor. Don't fall for saving a few dollars on the front end as it will more than catch you on the back end. You have been warned!
Goodman Manufacturing, Goodman HVAC, anything associated with Goodman and an HVAC system should be repelled and beware - Goodman has demonstrated shady business practices towards me. I build a new home which the builder chose to install two Goodman units. Closed August 2016. Six years later, upstairs unit had to be completely replaced because of leaking evaporator coils. Not one leak but many. A one off? No. So many poor quality evaporator coils were installed with the Goodman HVAC systems, there is/was a class action lawsuit filed. One year later, I am having to now replace the downstairs unit because of multiple evaporator coil leaks. After my experience a year ago with Goodman, I am not surprised their response is 'we no support warranty - buh bye!'. Peaces of mule dung - the lot of them. I'll pay my tuition of over $7k to once again learn about Goodman. If just one person reads this and realizes they are making a HUGE mistake installing anything with the Goodman on it - it is crap from China, Goodman will NOT acknowledge their mistakes regarding quality control of what they are selling.
Stay away and save yourself thousands $ repair money. Leaking Freon. Icing of coil. Water every where, The house was brand new build, as do today 4 years old.
Having problems with both Fernace and AC. Now Ac guys want $2000 to break it apart to find problems such as Freon leakage and so on.
Customer service is no help. Stay away.
Goodman doesn't stand behind their products. You are expected to pay for any work needed to be done even when it's due to their defective equipment. I will never again buy anything from Goodman.
One star is too much for the quality of the product, but there is no other options. My brand new airconditioner leaked all the freon after 2 months of use, considering price of freon refill, coil replacements and general poor quality of airconditioner, I bought new one ( different manufacturer) and it was installed. Here is the letter I got from their customer support.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Goodman's Homeowner Support Division.
We sincerely regret the difficulty you have experienced.
We make every effort to manufacture products of only the highest quality. Goodman's record in providing consumers with a well-designed, long-lasting product is among the best in the industry. However, despite the careful testing of each unit, problems can occur.
As a manufacturer we will advise you, it is impossible to predict the life of any one part, so we provide a warranty to assist with repair costs.
Our Limited Warranty covers replacement of a failed part, should a part fail. This warranty does not cover labor, service charges or any other cost associated with the repair. This warranty does not cover refrigerant, shipping charges, down time, utility costs or replacement of a unit or reimbursement for a part, etc.
A licensed HVAC contractor must take the failed part to a local Goodman distributor. Distributor provides a new part as an exchange for the old one. The homeowner is responsible to pay labor and service to re install the new part.
The original installer is licensed through the state in which service is rendered and an affiliate of the distributor for the area. They are independently owned and operated companies and are not authorized or employed by Goodman Manufacturing Company.

Never buy their products, waste of money
Franklin ac
DO NOT BUY A FRANKLIN AC!
We bought a Franklin ac system in September 2019 for $7,400.00. We started having problems right away. It stopped working so many times. They replaced various parts trying to resolve the problem. Finally, at the manufacturer's direction, they installed a "hard start kit". The system then worked fine until June 2023.
Then the same issue started again. Ac would just stop working. After cycling the circuit breaker, it would work for about 24 hours. Then we would have to reset it again.
North Central Florida AC, the ones that we purchased the AC from, wasn't able to fix it. They did replace a few parts but that didn't fix it. Part of an email from owner of North Central Florida Air conditioning, Raymond Walsh, "Your warranty is not with North Central Florida Air Conditioning. Your warranty is with the manufacturer. We are an authorized dealer to work on these units for your warranty company. It has become clear that we are not the best company to assist you with resolving the issue you are experiencing. At this time, I recommend you contact a different company who may be better suited to resolve the issues you are having."
Also, on several occasions, North Central Florida AC office staff would yell at me saying there is nothing wrong with my AC!
So we called Mid-Fla AC. Dustin came out and worked tirelessly on the AC. He reached Franklin's technical support who said it was a voltage problem. So, I had an electrician come out (cost me $675.00), and he put in bigger gauge wire even though he didn't think that was the problem but we will never know.
Then our electric utility came out and put in a new transformer! No, it didn't seem to be the problem and Franklin refused to pay us the money we put out for this.
Franklin tech support authorized a replacement circuit board (second one), a hard start kit (second one), and a capacitor (second one). For now the AC is working but I don't have much faith in it. When you pay $7,400.00 you expect better quality and better customer service. I called Franklin manufacturer and spoke with a supervisor by the name of Cassie. I basically wasted my time and she seemed to have zero empathy for seniors. Unfortunately, we can't afford to buy a new AC. But I would never, ever recommend a Franklin ac.
We also found that the warranty does not cover any extra charges for service calls outside normal working hours. If the AC breaks after hours or on weekends, too bad for you.
We bought a house in October & had to have some work on the Goodman HVAC unit. It worked well all winter. Once we turned the AC on, we noticed it did not work. The compressor & fan kicked on, but no cool air was being pushed through the vents. The technician comes out & replaces the TXV on it. A little over a month later, the TXV is having to be replaced again. Not even a day later, it will have to be replaced again. The tech said they have fixed numerous amounts of TXV's this year & in the past. In less than 2 months, we have had to have the TXV replaced 3 times. Why? Why is it continuously getting stuck. Why are there so many people having this issue? Why hasn't there been a recall? Needless to say, customer service can give no answer & are rude.
Register my heat heat pump for ten year warranty accumilator went bad. $50.00 part covered under warranty. Cost me $1000.00 for freon and labor. Not covered under warranty. One day later compressor went up. Unit is only 6 years old. If their part cause the problem they should pay for it all.
Replacing coils for third time, coils are covered in warranty labor is not, 1400.00 after just spending almost 10 thousand for install, heat didn't work on one of the few days in Florida I needed it. Would not recommend
We had purchased a Goodman 4 Ton AC unit from GOODMAN.
Purchased it in October of 2022. We've had nothing but problems with it freezing up, the water isn't draining correctly, a part on the unit being defective and the list goes on. Our AC Company is getting nothing but the run around from Goodman using every excuse in the book then to replace the unit hanging up on our AC Company before he's done with his conversation with the man.
Poor customer service I have a big problem with this we have purchased two unit with in 6 months spending over around 8,000 total and we get this treatment? We have been dealing with this for this long since October and now we are going to probably have another nice big power bill from all this. I would not recommend buying A Goodman product at all I wouldn't even rate them a one not on the chart bad customer Service so they are most likely trying to get out of the warranty coverage. This unit hasn't been right since day one also we've had to pay out of Our pocket to the AC Company that's messed up. I've also but a review on the consumer site bad review.
I bought a two and a half ton split A/C unit that was beat to hell internally. What I mean is the compressor was almost laid over and the fan shook when I brought it on line. Took it back to Lute supply. They told me that I was on my own because it was inspected at the time it left the building. I saw another unit in their warehouse that had the same damages. I lost total respect for Lute Supply and confidence in Goodman If pennies are that tight then I would not want to be in a situation that required real corporate support. One word JUNK. SMFH
Purchased two goodman heat pumps about three years ago. First unit failed in the first few months. Noisy compressor and surging. They replaced the compressor and that one also failed. Finally replaced the unit. The second unit has now failed with the same problems. Goodman had the compressor replaced which cost me $1200 in labor and trip charges and now it still isn't running correctly. Very noisy low heat out put so cooling will be as bad this summer. Unit was about $3000. Installed. So to fix this either the contractor/installer or I will have to foot the bill. What Goodman wants done will probably cost us more than the unit cost new. Goodman/Daikin does not back up their units. Poor customer service. The person from Goodman/Daikin was a very rude person. That alone would make me not buy from them again. Poor units along not standing behind their products with poor customer service will make me buy elsewhere. Goodman was a reliable company until purchased by Daikin. Would give them no stars if I was allowed.
As a dissatisfied customer, I would like to share my negative experience with the Goodman furnace. Unfortunately, the furnace broke down in just two years of usage, which is incredibly disappointing.
Moreover, the technicians sent by Goodman to fix the furnace have been entirely useless in solving the issue that started in September 2022. Despite paying over $500 for their services, there has been no solution provided, leaving me and my family in the cold.
Adding to my frustration, the Goodman customer service staff has been incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unwilling to listen to my concerns. I have asked for parts to be shipped, but they have refused to listen to my request, making me feel like they do not care about their customers' satisfaction.
As a result of this negative experience, I can confidently say that I will never buy any Goodman products again, and I cannot recommend anyone to use them. It is incredibly disappointing that a company that claims to provide high-quality products and services has failed to deliver on their promises, leaving customers like me to suffer the consequences.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a reliable furnace brand, I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere, as my experience with Goodman has left me feeling disappointed, frustrated, and out of pocket.
Replace my a/c unit in 3/2020 the blower motor faield today Nov 18 2022. The installer/serviceman came out and diagnosed a bad motor. He went to the distributor and they cant get a motor blower, it was estimated at 3 to 4 weeks for its arrival. I live in South Florida, its not justifiable that i go with out a/c for that length of time. If the company was to get in touch with me here is the model # AWUF*******AC Serial # *******972 if they want to help me they can since the unit is registerd to me.
I will update this reviwe if it gets resolved.
Bought heat pump system spring 2022 based on technician inspection. He said Air handler was shot and not worth repair. System was over 17 yrs old and would not be able to get system to match outside unit which was also giving problems. So purchased supposedly best rated system for the area to be heated and cooled. It has not worked properly since installed and the supposed Goodman trained technicians are unable to get it to either cool or heat properly. Have had them here multiple times. Today it is turned off because it blows cool air instead of heat with heat pump running and thermostat set on heat temp steadily going down.
I have had a terrible product experience with a compressor going bad in three years when it should last 10-15. I paid $1,000 to have it installed and the company has no interest in standing behind its product. I will never even consider Goodman again.
Answer: Most likely, a bad batch off the production line or one of their suppliers sent them a bad batch of particular components i. E. motor brushes, coil winding, copper grade, armiture bearings. Unfortunately, sample testing at the manufacturers level will not show this issue. Only once it has been sent into the field does the problem sho up.
