In my first 7 days I made a tee time, which was charged to my credit card as expected. But when I cancelled it only put a CREDIT into my Golfnow account, not a refund to my credit card. I also agreed to a GolfPass membership which cost $99 even though I do not recall that being made clear. The email I got telling me I was a member made no mention of a cost. When I called their support line for a full refund they told me I had used my first month's benefits when I made the one tee time so they could only refund the unused months. I pointed out that I had played NO GOLF but this did not seem to matter. Ultimately I had to dispute the charges on my credit card. STAY AWAY from GolfNow. The NBC logo suggests this is an upstanding company but it is not.
Apparently I'm out $60 bucks because golf now never specified that my hot deal was for Monday at noon instead of the Sunday at noon we we're trying to book. Then when I asked for a return (I canceled it once I got to the course and learned this) they gave me promo codes to use for only their hot deals and only Monday threw Thursday. AVOID GOLFNOW AT ALL COSTS!
I searched for a tee time at Stoneridge Golf Course, here in Prescott Valley Arizona, using GolfNow, and found their "discounted/special rate" was actually $5 more than the standard rack rate advertised by the course itself. I emailed GolfNow about their misleading specials and deceptive offers, and they did not respond. STAY AWAY FROM USING GOLFNOW WEB SITE. Use the online specials at your preferred courses instead for the best pricing. AVOID GOLFNOW!
What a joke. Why pay for rewards that don't start until 10 bookings in? You can get the same rates and times through the course (which may use golfnow) and not pay the fees. When you try to cancel, they want to still charge you the fee. DON'T USE THIS SITE EVER. NOT SAVING YOU ANYTHING.
I BOOKED A TEE TIME AND HAD TO CANCEL DUE TO COVID-19 ISSUES WITHIN MY GROUP AND THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO CANCEL TO BE FAIR AND HONEST, THEY DO HAVE A NON REFUNDABLE POLICY HOWEVER, WILL NOT MAKE ANY EXCEPTIONS DURING THE PANDEMIC NICE COMPANY MUST BE GREAT TO WORK THERE WHEN IT HAS A 1.36 OVERALL RATING TO YOU EMPLOYEES THERE, THERE ARE A LOT OF BETTER COMPANIES TO WORK FOR IF YOU ARE SMART, YOU WILL QUIT THAT IS AN UNETHICAL WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS
Been a VIP or Plus Member since the beginning. They've put limits on how I can spend my own money. After I prepay, I've had to cancel a few. I understand not getting my money back directly. They use to give me a credit and next time purchased anytime, any day my credit was used first. Now, I do not get a credit. I get reimbursed with $20 coupons that can only be used Monday thru Thursday after 12:00 and purchased three days ahead. THIS IS MY MONEY NOT THE $10 CREDITS YOU EARN. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SPEND MY MONEY ON ANY TEE TIME. I NOW HAVE ALMOST $300 WORTH OF $20 COUPONS THAT I AM STRUGGLING TO USE. LACK OF HOT DEALS AFTER 12 AS WELL.
Made reservations and entered in my credit card info. Once that was all done the website tells me that the time is no longer available and here are some other choices. My tee time I booked for the course was still available but for twice the amount. Crazy thing is they still took my money off my credit card. When I called to ask them what the hell was going on they said they have a glitch in the system. In order for me to get the same tee time and price that. I already had paid they said they would need to charge my card again but would refund the first withdrawal in 3-5 business days. BULL$#*!... YOU TOOK MY MONEY ONCE AND WANT ME TO PAY AGAIN?...
After dealing with golfnow I feel very exposed and vulnerable to this scamming organisation. In good faith I booked a hot deal for early afternoon on Canada day. I discovered that our foursome wanted to play earlier so I consulted their website to alter my tee time to earlier. They said the only way to amend a tee time was to cancel and rebook which I did and subseguently was left paying for 2 foursomes same day same course 2 hrs apart. There customer service is very inflexible insisting that my tee time amendment was not valid and they insist that a cancellation was non refundable. The could not grasp the concept that a rebooked tee time same day same course was not a cancelation but a tee time amendment. I am left with no option but to dis golfnow every opportunity I get and i will get my just reward.
Regards
Robert G. Disgruntled golfer.
Just now
PLEASE
PLEASE, DO NOT USE golfnow. You may save a few bucks here and there on a few rounds, but all it takes is a need to make a change and you'll lose way more than any savings or convenience you previously had. Seriously, I've spent $230 on my last two tee times where in one I had to cancel it, and the other I put in the wrong date and wanted to change it. No refund in either case.
DO NOT USE GOLFNEVER.
I have extensively used GolfNow since February 2013 but today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I booked a tee time online two days ago that allegedly included a cart with the round. It was a hot deal rate which meant I had to prepay. The confirmation page that pops up after booking online stated that a cart was included with the round and that no money was due at the course. The email confirmation sent to me shortly after booking did not state this, however. At that point, an inconsistency existed... cart or no cart? When I showed up at the course to play today, the course staff were extremely rude and informed me that they would not honor the tee time with the cart. They tried to charge me $40 for my dad and I to rent a cart for 18 holes. I called GolfNow immediately and spent over thirty minutes with them on the phone when ultimately a supervisor basically told me "tough $#*!" because the courses can do whatever they want. Further, GolfNow would not refund my greens fees or attempt to explain the blatant inconsistency that existed between the confirmation email and GolfNow website confirmation page. Anyone considering using this site beware! Inconsistencies and shoddy, flaky customer service is lurking! I would rather pay full price for greens fees than put up with the bull$#*! I did today. My dad and I drove two hours, played no golf, but came home $50 poorer for the experience. Piss on GolfNow
Golfnow.com is a rip-off. DO NOT USE. I selected a time, but, after logging in, submitting my info and trying to go further (to confirm my tee-time), the site
THEN says "no longer available" and prompts you to go back.
Here's the scam: I returned to the main reservation page and didn't find anything else that I wanted (for now). THEN, I went to my online bank account and the PAYMENT WAS BEING PROCESSED TO MY ACCOUNT ANYWAY!
I called the Customer Service number, was on hold for about a half hour, then finally was told that I "should" get my money back in "around 3 days or so".
WTF... my tee-time was never confirmed--but you take my money FIRST.
I don't think so ---- this is a RIP-OFF... BEWARE!
I have used GolfNow for close to 30 years. GolfNow is consistent in only one thing... less for customer more for GolfNow. It actually used to be one of the best values by far when it was owned by Cypress with good prices and even better rewards for loyal customers. When it was acquired by the Golfchannel it immediately started cutting benefits to what amounts to virtually none at this time. Customer service is less and less inclined to do anything to retain customers. I called at 0630 and opted for a call back... 4 and a half hours later I get a call and message that I can call back if I still need assistance. When I did I was put back in the queue. Anyway, I won't be using or recommending GolfNow to anyone and will be likely to rant against them while drinking a beer after a round.
Take a look at the ratings on this site, get wise, look elsewhere and send GolfNow a message. I have years in the past where I booked over 100 rounds... this year only 6 and most of them were on vacation and just due to not wanting to go course by course through the phone book.
Avoid this service... you can find comparable values without encouraging this unscrupulous business practice.
I tried Golf now membership for the past year at $199 for the year. Membership started out moderately beneficial but has gotten worse as the year progressed and they modified policies. Many issues but here are 2 issues. Started the year with the $15 dollar monthly reward for use on hot deals. They reduced this to $10 monthly half way through membership. The other issue I see is with cancelation policies. Cancel a reservation day or more before tee time and many courses just refund you. At Golfnow they apply a credit to your account which is only good for 90 days (tough luck if cancelation was cold weather region and made late in the season). Most concerning is that Hot Deal Cancelation credit can only be used for another Hot Deal reservation. Very limiting on how credit can be applied. Had I reserved directly through course the cost would have been exactly the same even with Hot Deal and would have received full refund for canceling outside 24 hour window. My recommendation is stay clear of GolfNow. Also check out the site and you'll see they make it very difficult to find a phone number to actually speak to someone. This membership is pretty much a scam and I don't expect they'll be around much longer. Certainly won't see me renewing and at least I can post this warning for other golfers.
Do not use golf now. Their mistake or yours they will not refund your money. They will give you some stupid $#*! coupon hey do not trust them with your credit card this company is untrustworthy.
Booking price points are okay, but if you book a HOT DEAL, BEWARE! I booked for a golf course and as soon as I received the confirmation realized it was for the wrong day, and immediately clicked cancel. Then received cancellation notice and re-booked the correct day. But I noticed charge was not credited when I got home 3 days later. Just got off the phone with them, and SHOCKING, they will not refund or give credit back to my account. They said yes, you cancelled right away, but you should have called, it says so right in the terms if you had clicked and read. Who does THAT?
I am not sure they would have done anything but they offered promo codes worth $100, which is only good Monday through Thursday. Most antiquated policy I have encountered in a while. So basically I got screwed out of $70 and I am sure I am not the only one. I am going to research the other booking sites and let you know what has best pricing and terms. And for everybody that knows myself and our circuit, do not use Golf Now anymore and we will find something better. Happy to answer any questions. The Chucklehead.
Twice in three months I have reserved tee times via GolfNow only to find, upon arrival at the course, that the GolfNow system never successfully booked and confirmed the reservation. Both times I received a confirmation from GolfNow at the time of booking, so I had no inkling that I was bound for trouble upon arrival at the course.

We prepaid for 3... but had an emergency and only 2 came...
They would not credit one round even for an emergency.
Total scam artists and they manager would not even be accomodating. They are total liars and rip off artists.
They take your money even if you never used the service.
DONT USE THIS, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.
I recently had a close relative unexpectedly pass away prior to a tee time that I had booked through Golf Now and had to cancel it. I was told that it would only be refunded to me if I scheduled another tee time within 14 days. Well, given the situation, I wasn't in any condition to go out and play again because of everything I had to deal with, and Golf Now still said they weren't going to refund it. Thankfully, I have a very good credit card company who is going to make sure that they don't receive payment. Golf Now has every right as a business to make less money through their cold-hearted practices, so I will never book another tee time through them again.
For those stuck on the Read the Policy narrative, most internet policies such as those are unenforceable in court. In addition to that, Golf Now has to attempt to mitigate damages. I'm betting given the course and price I was scheduled to play at, they could've easily found a replacement player, thus, little to no damages incurred.
If you have a good credit card company, challenge the charge. It'll likely get overturned.
New points system unusable compared to old $10 credits. Dropping VIP Booked a course and I have points available and could not use them. Looks like VIP is discontinued.
Answer: Because they got too big for their britches. They think they have such a clientele that the few who will drop off are insignificant. They would not even refund my fees for an accidental booking I made for the wrong day. You are correct, I have been going thru the local websites of the courses themselves. I was a customer for 5 years with about 40 bookings per year, they took away my free fees and the bonuses. I have not booked with them in 4 months.
Answer: Golfnow sent an E-mail to me (Dec) informing me that points must be used by Dec. 31. Ok tried to find a tee time for Sat or Sun because I work M-F. Not one single location available in Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando to book. Having 6600 points that I lose, it seems more notice would have been provided to assist in using valued points (converted $88.20). Nearest course several hours away (Daytona) not happening. Contacted Golfnow and Mr. Joe Babcock of customer service, (oxymoron), had me call 800-767-3574 to get a tee time, what a joke, lady on phone was of no value and promised her supervisor would call back. Hell will freeze first, never again do business with these cons. Thanks, Douglas Roger Sundean
