The company's reputation is significantly marred by a consistent pattern of negative customer experiences, particularly regarding its customer service. Many clients report long wait times, unhelpful support staff, and unresolved technical issues, leading to frustration and financial losses. Complaints about opaque policies and difficulties in obtaining refunds further exacerbate dissatisfaction. While a minority of users acknowledge the company's services, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of reliability and professionalism. Overall, customers express a strong inclination to seek alternatives, reflecting a pressing need for the company to enhance its service quality and responsiveness.

Please be aware that they can lose your content.
The Website Builder lost all content that I created (and published) when changing hosting platforms.
I spent 8 phone calls with them (ATS ******* in case anyone from GoDaddy wants to check up on this).
I now have to redo the site (ALL changes were lost)!
Tech Support couldn't find my content that I published. Even after the first 7 calls, they told me they could see it (and the coding) and it wouldn't take long to restore it.
Their backup system didn't actually back it up (again, even though it was published)
I'll be going with a new provider at the end of the month when the contract is finished out.
So utterly, utterly useless!
Hours wasted!
DO NOT USE GoDaddy Auctions to buy a domain! You have to pay a membership to join and bid. You can start an auction and bid, but you can never see what the other bids are, or what the top bid is. I was in a 30 day auction and at the end of the 30 days somehow the auction renewed for another 88 days. These people are scammers who hold domains and then auction them when 100 people view the domain name. But it is not an auction - it is perhaps a silent auction but it is really a scam - becasue they renew the auction to get a higher price. Nothing is so worthless in this world than Scumbags who buy and hold domain names that they do not need or use, so that no one else can use the domain - unless they pay GoDaddy auctions.
Oh yeah, and I stopped webhosting with GoDaddy 4 years ago, because the webspeed was slow and expensive, and when i complained I was told that they have fast email! Fast email - who cares? I want fast internet fo rmy website. Never use this foolish and dishonest and unethical website.
3 days of being locked out and the support staff are dreadful. Truly the worst customer service I have every experienced in 30 years.
Do not trust GoDaddy more like HoDaddy. I bought a domain and since then my cell phone has been bombarded with spam callers and text messages. I've contacted their customer service and only to be told that it's impossible. They don't sell our information, yet they couldn't explain how I'm getting calls to do my new website. I wonder what else they sell on us.
One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. In order to end autorenewal, I've had to talk with four customer reps, spend multiple hours, and still haven't made progress. Reps asking the same questions repeatedly in the same conversation, 10+ account and identity verifications, hours lost, stress gained and nothing accomplished in a hellish interaction where I have to fight and spend hours of my time to keep my own money. Horrible and immoral company behavior.
I canceled my Outlook email account hosted by GoDaddy months ago to move to a Google-based domain specific email. Then I realized they had auto-renewed my "plan" with Microsoft 365 (including all their extra security "add-ons" for the non-existent email) as of 8/8/23. I didn't see that auto-renewal immediately and when I did finally see it, I contacted them about a refund for the "security add-ons" for the non-existent emails. That was the point at which they advised me FOR THE FIRST TIME that I couldn't keep my Microsoft 365 account without an email hosted by GoDaddy, so I had to scramble to set up an alternate Microsoft 365 account. When that was set up, I contacted them for a full refund for both the Microsoft 365 account and the extra bells and whistles for the non-existent account, and they refused a refund because I didn't request the refund within 30 days of the auto-renewal that was THEIR FAULT. So I am out over $300 for accounts that they renewed without my permission and that I can't use!
If I could rate it zero, I would. This morning, I visited my page and was nearly shocked to my core. There, on MY page, was an insertion claiming that the domain I had purchased was unavailable. It suggested they could assist in acquiring it for $69.99 as broker fees, and who knows what else. I promptly contacted GD and spoke with an agent who confirmed that the domain was indeed mine. However, he stonewalled me when I insisted that they remove the misleading insertion from my page immediately.
How could they offer such a thing, and why was it even on MY page in the first place? It seems they will stop at nothing to squeeze money out of you.
Moreover, this incident made me realize that THEY were the ones who had taken my previous domain from me, just two days after I hadn't paid, using the exact same insertion! This means that if I want to reclaim the name I created, I have to pay them at least $69.99. It's truly scandalous and utterly disgusting.
To add insult to injury, on September 16, I received an email thanking me for my order and stating that I would benefit from a one-month premium plan trial. Then, on the 19th, I received another email informing me that my trial would end on September 22nd. What happened to the promised 1-month trial?!?!?!
So, I'll refrain from further comments, as my frustration could lead me to use impolite language. If I had the choice, I would terminate my association with them immediately and consider legal action against their practices. My advice: steer clear. Everything about GoDaddy seems misleading.
I used to own a web hosting company named GTCONEX. At one point Godaddy copied my site along with all my wording and SEO and graphics and company name basically using my exact hymn page or template and pointed the copied page from my site at the Godaddy site and stole my search engine listings. I ended up closing my doors because of it as I no longer got customers during intènet boom. The company is scandalous and stole my whole business model and intellectual property.
This people are con artist, they scare you in to buying services you really do not need. Then if you do not pay to protect your email account they sale it to spammers. Microsoft 365 is crap and a scam with godaddy.com $200 for a service I do not use! They got me good! While on the phone today 9/23/23 with a employee of GoDaddy she try to find out who created the Microsoft 365 accounts on my hosting and she cannot see who created it so I guess there's a ghost that works for GoDaddy that screwing over people! 18 years I've been with GoDaddy for them to pull this crap!
9/28/23 got a call from bbb GoDaddy.com and they sow that I did not use any of the services they charged me for, intern they refunded me the full charge…
Thank you for correcting the error…
I recently opened a business and knew I needed a website, so I bought a domain from GoDaddy. I remember seeing their ads and I knew other friends who had bought domains from them, so it seemed like the way to go. Little did I know... A year later is when they started charging me with huge fees. In the beginning, they upsell you on really generous discounts. If I had read the fine print, I would have known that I'd be paying almost $250 a year for an email and domain. If anyone is looking to buy a domain, I'd recommend Namecheap or Squarespace. While GoDaddy charges you $99/year for SSL, Squarespace gives it away free. And if you want to keep your website safe from hackers, you need SSL.
Subject: Complaint Regarding Poor Service and Lack of Response from GoDaddy
Dear GoDaddy Customer Service Team,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the quality of service I have received from your company over the past several months. I have been a loyal customer of GoDaddy for years, having registered and purchased multiple domain names and hosting packages. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing.
The primary issue I wish to address is the consistently poor customer service I have encountered. On multiple occasions, I had to interact with your customer service representatives who, regrettably, failed to provide adequate assistance and guidance. What compounds my frustration further is the fact that I was repeatedly required to make additional payments to rectify errors on your end, which were entirely the fault of your company.
Furthermore, despite my numerous attempts to reach out for resolution, I have received no response from your team. I have sent more than ten emails detailing my complaints and concerns, and it is disheartening that I have not received a single acknowledgment or any effort to address the issues raised. This blatant lack of responsiveness reflects poorly on your company's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Due to these ongoing problems, I had no choice but to take my business elsewhere. I have transferred all of my domain names and hosting packages to a competitor who values my patronage and provides the level of service I expect as a paying customer.
It is truly disheartening to see that a company as prominent as GoDaddy, with a reputation for its services, has let its customers down so profoundly. I expected better from a company of your stature and reputation.
I hope that this formal complaint prompts you to review your customer service practices and communication procedures. Customers should not be driven away due to poor service and a complete lack of response to their concerns. I would appreciate it if someone from your team could finally acknowledge this complaint and provide a resolution.
Sincerely,
First, I have been loyal to this company for years, but they have locked out my account and will not let me back in. This is day 3 on the phone with them and my second week trying to resolve this issue so I can work on MY business. Every agent I have called made excuses why they were unable to help.
This is one of biggest and unnecessary time wasters my company has had in awhile, and this company is almost as incompetent as AT&T. If you care about your company and have more important things to do then be on the phone listening to "I cant" then run away from this company as fast as you can!
The support staff are untrained and give the wrong advice. I tried to reconfigure servers in Godaddy to allow my Squarespace to publish and I was given the wrong information from the get go. And then Squarespace gave me equally bad guidance. Stay away from both like the plague. Oh, and now I'm bounced out of Godaddy for 7 days.
This is Eddie Sparks. I have down-rated Godaddy to four stars because of the near impossibility to reach an American by phone.
When signed up they changed their initial price offer into a more expensive one that should have been a heads up but didn't pay attention. Payment services every time you charge a card is security breach like you're a dishonest person. They should check ID'S and everything at account opening not halting businesses operation later on and refunds and I have to deal with disappointed customers because of their actions plus customer service doesn't know the difference between a domestic and a foreign corporation impossible to deal with them closed account and moved to another provider
I am from a developing country so I can't really call them as it's too expensive. Live chat is not available. I've been charged for 1 year term for a product which I don't need. I need my refund as I am well within my 30 days refund window. Order#*******566, Customer ID #*******.
I have explained my issue a 100 times over a matter of 3 weeks, struggling daily with these people however, they keep on responding to something different and cannot answer my questions neither can the solve simple issues (email go to spam box). Then I ask for the supervisor but she decided to ignore me totally. Then I keep on calling their given phone number 020 7084 1810 but it seems like this number doesn't exist as it doesn't even ring but "call failed" straight away, over a period of 2 weeks, calling them 24/7. Seriously, GoDaddy should shut down because they know NOTHING about customer support.
Go daddy payments is charging our customers 3 and 4x in error. This has been going on for 3 days. Losing business because of go daddy.
Hosting expired due to old credit card on file was told I needed to pay $150 reactivate fee. Thank you godaddy for making me realize my business no longer needs a website and google is just fine. 8 year customer that will never be back!
This company will try to rob you and bills for unauthorized services. Then tries to keep your money.
Answer: Do not use this company. Go daddy excessive fees, will keep adding fees claiming lack of security, and also has a policy that will ask for private information such as passport, license if you ever change your phone number even though they will talk to you on the phone.
