Glyde is a site that aims to make buying and selling on the internet a simple matter. In that sense, it has a very straightforward goal and it meets that goal admirably. The thing about Glyde is that it really has the "set it and forget it" attitude.
Signing up is a breeze. Add your contact info and bank info. List what you want to sell, then sit back. You'll be contacted when your item sells and Glyde will send out one of their custom mailers. You'll receive and envelope containing a bubble package for you to put the item in. It's already pre-addressed for your use. When the buyer receives it, they accept the stated condition and you get your money with fees taken out for the mailer and Glyde's cut.
The fees do seem steep, especially if the item you're selling is cheap, but you really are paying for convenience.
My one issues with Glyde is that there is little buyer protection in the sense that you don't know who you're buying things from. They have no seller rating and are completely anonymous. You could buy a game listed as Excellent, then get it in very bad shape. When this happens, Glyde has you and the seller split shipping costs to send it back, which is fair, but it sucks knowing that a few bucks just went to waste.
Glyde gets the blame for a lot of issues, but they're really just the middle-man in a system that makes it stupidly easy to buy and sell video games/movies/etc.
Overall, I recommend Glyde so long as you're patient when you buy and sell (You have to wait for a mailer to get to the seller, then the seller has to ship it to the buyer. This could take up to 2 weeks, but hat's uncommon in my experience)
Glyde is worth checking out for its simplicity alone: http://gly.de/h/ubvllg
This company has been awful. My phone was about to die so I thought I would try ordering from glyde. My mistake. It took about a week for the seller to get the box to ship it and I was fine with that. After about a week went by I checked with customer service as I saw it was sitting with the seller. After 2 weeks of waiting (so 3 weeks total from ordering) I was done. It WILL take customer service 48 hr to respond to any email you send and any after that. So you will get a response every 2 days and not including weekends as they are not in. After a month I finally bought an Iphone from apple and was here the next day. I have been trying to cancel my payment and they said they would not cancel it till the seller was known-fully informed. Well he hasen't responded to any emails and has not sent out the phone so how are they ever sure he would respond. Its already been a month! After about a week they decide to just submit the refund. They gave me back the 300~ but then I saw a charge for 204 in my bank account. This price has nothing to do with the phone price and I was never informed. I contacted customer service and they still have not responded. I checked today and saw they cancelled the 204 charge but now they have charged me the 300~ for the iphone even though they cancelled it! Its insane that it takes so long for customer service to respond and there is no phone number to call them at (at least customer service is avoiding that part of all my emails). Stay away. This is insane and the customer service is the worse part because you have to email them for everything. For refunds, for questions, ect. Stay away and save yourself the time and money.
I first went to Gazelle to sell my iPhone. They were to give me $15. I sold it on Glyde for $125! Need I say more?
The lesson I have learned, is that I was lucky this time. I got my IPad back and was able to repair the damage the buyer had done.
Glyde seemed like a good deal to sell my IPad 2, better selling price and less hassle then Craigslist or Ebay. I listed my item, 6 days later I received an email that it was sold and the mailing kit was on it's way. I took 10 days for the kit to get to me, certainly longer than I would have expected. I had completely cleaned everything off the unit as instructed and dropped it in the mail the next morning. Three days later I was told that the IPad had delivered and the next day got another email that the buyer had made a complaint about the condition of the item. It took another 10 days to get the IPad back to me.
The IPad was in perfect working condition when I put it in the mail. I had always kept it in a case and always had a screen protector. I sent an email asking about the complaint but was never told what the buyer found wrong with it. When I received it back, the unit looked fine, but when I tried to start it back up I had trouble setting it up. What I found was that the buyer had turned on Voice Over. It took some time but I finally managed to get it up and running again and was able to get Voice over turned back off. I had NEVER used that feature, it was not set up that way when I sent it out, I can only surmise that the buyer was playing around with the unit, turned it on by mistake, couldn't figure out how to turn it off so returned.
I sent a email to Glyde asking if there was any protection for the seller against damage done by a buyer and was told. "My best suggestion is to double inspect the item and relist." Yea, I think not. I'll go go Gazelle, maybe not get quite as much, but will not worry about a month later getting an irreparable IPad back in the mail.
In all fairness, I have no complaints with Glyde other then the time it takes to complete transactions. I always got responses from "Frank" (expecting that's a generic name) in a reasonable time. I just don't feel at all comfortable doing business this way again.
Great condition, everything great. Shopping for an iphone glyde is where it at.
I purchased a phone and I am very pleased with it. Great service!
Only issue I have is Customer Service never reply back soon also rude never solve issue.
I am stop buying from Glyde!
I was surprised how smoothly the everything went. I would definitely use the site again in the future to sell other items.
Been using Glyde since its inception and love it. It has only gotten better and the prices trump the best sales sights on the web.
Glyde provided a very easy way to sell my phone and obtain my money. I would recommend Glyde to anyone interested in selling their phone.
I have ordered the same iPhone 5 FOUR different times due to sellers cancelling and you keep re-sending me phones that are the same model and price I just have to repurchase and wait longer, and the new sellers cancel anyways! I have waited almost two whole months for a phone from your website, and if this is how you conduct with buyers then you might as well cut ought the buyers! Seriously like close down your site, you have caused nothing but frustration and anger and problems stemming from you guys not handling anything, maybe you should just carry iPhones and sell them yourselves so this doesn't happen, this is the SECOND BAD REVIEW email I have sent. If I have to wait until the updated date of Jan. 14th then instead of the FIRST purchase date, Jan. 4th then I will not be paying for this iPhone I've already BOUGHT A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND YOU HAVE YET TO SEND ANYTHING, JUST KEEP SAYING "OH JUST RE-BUY AND WE'LL SEND THIS ONE INSTEAD." You have a responsibility to do faster processing and shipping for this order so I can at least get it buy EARLY NEXT WEEK, INSTEAD OF MY EXPECTED THIS WEEK. It updates me when you send the seller the shipping kit, so everyday I look and don't see the seller got it, I will email you an email like this every morning. I cannot believe this is what it has come to, I just want my phone that is already paid for. Please do faster shipping to, and from the seller so you can actually rectify this bad situation you guys have me running circles in
Easy, peasy, and best price I was getting anywhere. From start to finish, it was about as good as one could expect.
Selling on Glyde was the easiest ever! They actually do all the work. Will do it again when the time comes!
Very disappointed with turnaround. Seller has had shipping kit for days. Not shipping product for some reason.
It is rare in today's society to find a company that says what it does and does what it says. Fair, best experience selling phone ever.
I was able to sell my items and get paid without any hassle.
Great company. They make it easier for you to sell and get paid.
The game was great as well as the shipping. Though it took quite a while (2 weeks) it arrived and in the condition just as stated.
The service was very painless, easy, and paid quickly. I have used EBay and this service is way safer, the customer service is better as well.
I was very impressed with my Glyde experience. I sold my iPhone for a great price and the process was quick and easy.
Answer: Glyde is a great companyi did have a bad experence with a purchase but glyde sent out a return label on them and i was credited really quick. When dealing with companies on the internet i use my amazon or my paypal so that way its not hlding up my personal account. At any rate my issue was the person that sold me the phone had sent me a phone that was originally a sprint phone but flashed to cricket carrier when i tried to switch it to sprint they werent able to program the phone and i was already a customer only they couldnt figure out why. When we were programming the phone it showed the name cricket as we completed a reset of the system. So most people these days they jailbreak phones or flash maybe another work at any rate your covered regardless but i would recommend
