This was my first time using Glyde and start to finish the process took only a few weeks.
I could not have had a better experience with Glyde. I sold an old iPhone, iPad Mini and Nexus 7. There was next to nothing for me to do. Answer a few basic questions for each item, step through the wizard. List them. Wait for them to be sold.
Once sold, it's just as easy. A nice package arrives, you add your item, slap on your pre-printed, pre-paid mailing label and drop it in the USPS mail. About a week later, you have your money.
I've sold two different devices to Gazelle, and two through Glyde. Both services work very well, and I've had excellent experiences with both. Gazelle's processing has been a bit faster (a few days, because Gazelle puts my money directly into my bank account, where Glyde deposits into my PayPal account, where it is then transferred into my bank account), but I've received far more money selling through Glyde. As I write this, Gazelle would offer me $510 for my iPhone 6+ 128 gb, versus $630 from Glyde. If you're in a big rush to sell, I'd recommend Gazelle. If not, Glyde's the one I'd use. Highly recommended!
Glyde has done so much for me in terms of getting unused stuff out to others who are interested as well as being a great place for me to buy as well. It's simple and is a way better option than going retail to sell. I'd recommend it ten times over if I could.
While I have had several pleasant sales through Glyde in the past, the sale of a nearly brand new iPhone 6 has been troublesome from the start. Glyde put the item on hold twice while they verified the credentials of the buyer, when the deals fell through apparently my phone was re-listed at the bottom of the list. Weeks later they notified me that it had sold, only to inform me less than 24 hours later that the buyer cancelled the purchase. What bothers me is when I look at the buy side of my model of iPhone my lower priced unit doesn't show, only higher priced items show... how fair is that?
UPDATE: After writing to Glyde about my problem they responded very quickly about the situation. Apparently there are folks out there that attempt to make purchase of high price items with stolen or fraudulent credit cards. Glyde does a great job of stopping this type of thing from happening by verify each buyer. They have notified me that have re-listed my item and will watch over the transaction to ensure it goes forth smoothly. Great people and great responsiveness.
I've had a very satisfactory experience in selling some of my PS2 and Wii games on Glyde; in addition to some old cell phones I've sold as well. I've very much recommended Glyde to my friends.
Nonexistent customer service! Buyer and seller beware of this website. Products are overpriced and shipping is extremely slow. If you buy an item and return it you are charged fees, if you sell an item and someone returns it you are charged fees. You have no chance with their "customer service" to even talk with anyone, you will only receive canned responses. As a seller, the person buying a game or movie will consume the media, then claim that it was not in the condition that they bought. This will then initiate a return where the buyer received a cheap "rental" at your expense. Please stay away from Glyde, and give your money to a company who at least pretends to care about its consumers.
It is nice that there are cheaper phones and the customer service is okay. However, it would be much better if customer service had a phone line and or replied to emails quicker. Also, many orders get cancelled and that needs to be fixed. Overall, glyde is still a good website to buy products.
Plain and simple, I use Glyde because I can get older games I want at waaay below market price.
Pro's: you can get games here cheaper than anywhere else; its a buyers market; the site is user friendly
For example, I got halo 4 in great condition off Glyde for 8 bucks. At game stop the same game "used" was 20 dollars. Amazon prime and any deal used wanted 14 dollars.
Cons: Some people dont follow through on the products they put up for sale. Multiple times ive "purchased" a game waited weeks for glyde to inform me the seller got their postage paid selling envelope, just to wait another week for glyde to refund me after the seller didnt follow through on the listing.
All in All, getting relatively new games used for a cheaper price than gamestop or amazon would ever offer makes this website a great place to browse for purchasing electronics even if the listing falls through.
It seemed to take a very long time for Glyde to send the package to the seller (almost two weeks). The seller sent the item and it was received within a few days. The Note 3 was perfect and almost like new (had I not found the old SIM card when I was inserting my own, I would have thought it was new). Very happy with the entire transaction and have told anyone who would listen that this is the way to go!
Only issue I have is Customer Service never reply back soon also rude never solve issue.
I am stop buying from Glyde!
I got my purchase in a timely manner. Great packaging and communication.
We've purchased three phones from glyde the first had issues but we were able to return it without problems. The others have great.
Wasn't able to sell my phone in the end because of Sprint's financial eligibility something or other. That's fine, but we all could have been spared the trouble if I had had to enter my IMEI number before it was listed. Then I wouldn't have listed it
Glyde offer a lot of good prices on cell phones and tablets but you almost never receive the condition advertised always in really bad shape or non working condition. Their return policy states that you should share responsibility but you end up paying $10-$15 per device returned even if item is not as described. I prefer to use ebay because at least i know what i will get most of the time and i don't have to pay return shipping if something goes wrong.
As other negative reviews have stated, don't think when you have purchased a phone when you complete the transaction. You'll get a "account on hold message, and won't complete it. If they can't verify your identity or payment method at the time of the transaction, they shouldn't be in the business.
I've purchased from Glyde several times. They recently randomly decided to freeze my account for fraud.
I verified my bank information with my bank and sent the detailed Glyde requested via email. They claim to have be unable to verify my information. Now they have stopped responding to my emails. I can no longer access my old history of items I've purchased.
It seems like a lot of people have this problem. Don't buy from this site... save yourself time and energy.
I just went to your review site and every one loves the experience of selling phones with you etc- but there are a couple of complaints just like mine. You ask for my phone number- yet can't call me. We who purchase things online have been coached repeatedly to beware identity theft- yet you are asking some pretty sensitive questions in an email- and you can call if you need to but wont for a customers benefit?! Really? Also, when buying on line, which I do all the time, no one in my history of years of purchases, once they have card number, exp date, and Cvr (plus address) has asked for any additional information- EVER. Additionally an added caveat, since I read thru reviews, I also understand that it takes forever to get purchased merch because you send the packaging to the seller in a 5 to 10 day period!
Please cancel the sale -but let me know if your business M/O changes- rather than give such sensitive info over an email, I'd rather spend a bit more and buy local given those scarier options. And OMG, don't ask for a phone # if you can't pick up a phone and give proper customer care on your end -as is responsible and expected when exchanging so much money.
I "purchased" a phone on Glyde.com for my 13-year-old daughter for her birthday. It was expensive, but the purchasing process was fairly easy. Unfortunately, after this everything turned ugly. They put my account on hold, apparently due to some issues with my credit card (which I used for other only transactions at least 5 times in the past week, so I know it works). They then asked for details about the credit card (my phone number, issuing bank, full name, etc.) These are the kinds of details fishing scams would ask for, so I asked them to call me or to give me their customer service line so I could deal with them on the phone, rather than send detailed information over a insecure channel (email). They responded that they could only help via email (and they don't have any phone number on their website). So stupidly, I sent them the information via email. Then they cancelled my transaction and I am afraid of what they did with my information. I am just waiting for the fraud to hit. Of course, I had to totally start over for my daughter's present.
Beware of this company. At a minimum, they are a disaster for customer service, and possibly frauds and criminals. Fine another place to buy or sell your iPhone.
Ordered a game Friday evening for a birthday gift. My sister asked if I'd order the game for her boyfriends birthday die to her hectic, she was running out of time. I heard for Glyde from a friend and figured I would try it. Ordered game Friday evening, expected delivery 10-15 days later, perfect no problem! Or so I thought. I was then emailed Monday at 10am informing me my account was frozen with Glyde and order canceled until I took action and clarified. Clarified what? What did I need to do in my part? Well I emailed back asking them exactly that advising of my now urgent time frame. I was responded to with the most veg unanswered blunt email informing me account is frozen still, I was not getting my order, it will be another 3-5 days to clarify more. And the Still no indication WHY this is happening! How to fix it! What can be done! And the card was still charged! I emailed back (since this is the ONLY way to contact) and its been 6 hours now with no response. Worst customer service I've EVER seen. Spend the extra money and save yourself the trouble of having to deal with these people!
Answer: Glyde is a great companyi did have a bad experence with a purchase but glyde sent out a return label on them and i was credited really quick. When dealing with companies on the internet i use my amazon or my paypal so that way its not hlding up my personal account. At any rate my issue was the person that sold me the phone had sent me a phone that was originally a sprint phone but flashed to cricket carrier when i tried to switch it to sprint they werent able to program the phone and i was already a customer only they couldnt figure out why. When we were programming the phone it showed the name cricket as we completed a reset of the system. So most people these days they jailbreak phones or flash maybe another work at any rate your covered regardless but i would recommend
