We monitor reviews for authenticity
This site allows anonymous reviews with no merit or proof of what is written. They will not remove an "anonymous" review on my company, that was made by an employee fired for mishandling cash. The employee gets to write a bad review, but I have no recourse. A class action suit should be filed against them, by all of us that may have suffered damage by Glassdoor.
Glassdoor states "Your trust is our top concern, so companies can't alter or remove reviews." Yet will remove legit, honest, well written reviews on Companies when the Employer requests. I had two reviews removed back to back, first time they said I mentioned someone's name, which I never did. Second time I left a review for my employer they deleted it after 5 days with no reason, no e-mail or notice. Just removed it.
If your Employer is "Engaged" that means Glassdoor will honor requests to remove any post, regardless if you kept it within the community guidelines. Censorship at it's worst!
All their jobs are 30 days+ old, when you actually go and look on the actual hiring company website, the jobs are 99% of the time already gone. Glassdoor keeps sending me emails at least 3 times a day (with a climax of 13 times on ONE DAY), all those emails with irrelevant jobs not matching any of my skills, expired job offers or useless advice. They also try to promote a resume reviewing company that is a total scam for money. If you are looking for a job, don't waste your time with glassdoor and use something more legit like Monster.com or even Indeed.com.
Glass door is a fake company they takes the money from the customers for the job and after they takes than they say to give them more money for the same and when u do not give them the required money so they will not provide u the job and then when u will ask them to return our money so they say to provide the ATM details to them then only they will return it other wise not.
It is just a fraud company so don't do any faith on this company.
I used to think Glassdoor was a legitimate site, until I had my and some of the other co-workers' negative reviews removed. Without any explanation. When asked for one, we were given "pre-packaged" responses about having violated company trade secrets or given out confidential information. None of it was true. Our reviews were specific and had legitimate complaints, such as no raise for years, few benefits for hard work that required special qualifications, poor treatment of employees. These were NOT trade secrets or confidential info. These reviews were approved previously, but were removed most likely when our company got concerned about their low ratings. At the same time, in matter of only 2 weeks, our company somehow received at least two dozen of raving, positive reviews. Which instantly inflated their rating, although no measures were taken to remedy the complaints many employees in the company have.
Unfortunately, it appears that there is some kind of deal going on between Glassdoor and companies/corporations willing to pay them to create a false image or to inflate their ratings, which may be low for a reason. It renders this website useless and misleading. Moreover, I was shocked when I read the reviews posted here and found out that Glassdoor may even use negative reviews as a leverage to extort money from companies/employers. What a disgrace! And disservice to both prospective employees and companies alike! I WAS VERY SADDENED AND DISAPPOINTED! PLEASE DO NOT TRUST GLASSDOOR WEBSITE!
Glassdoor is set up to extort employers into buying their service. Whenever a bad employee separates, a bad review is posted anonymously. No matter how many current or past employees post positive reviews about their experience, they are not posted, or posted briefly and taken down. We have had our rating drop and dozens of positive reviews taken down. Reviews that show up in the feed are unprofessional, disparaging and poorly written. We cannot verify who wrote these and if they were, in fact, employees and yet, somehow, only these reviews stay up. We have reached out to Glassdoor to help us understand the process but it remains unfair and not transparent. In a word, it's extortion.
Bought out garbage review site, lack of honesty and integrity. Just use Google, don't waste your time
Every time our company fires a useless employee, a bad review is posted on "garbage door". We are very successful and our management team never responded to the " 100 of emails" received from garbagedoor after each bad review. As they try to blackmail
By " offering a service to increase blablabla". This website is for looser.
A sales manager that never sold anything was fired (after 9 months!). He posted 10 bad reviews in one month!
I have been receiving a lot of calls for employment from employees at a competitor so I set alerts in Glassdoor to be notified when there is an update. I noticed negative reviews being deleted and positive reviews be added. A recent negative review said the company pays $500 for positive reviews. It popped up and I read it. Within 30 minutes it was removed. I was surprised both that companies pay employees to write positive reviews and that Glassdoor would so swiftly remove any review that suggests its site is less than transparent.
For those of you who wish to post anonymous negative reviews you're no better than glass door. Your a bunch of cowards. If you have anything negative to say own up to it put your name on the piece. Your negative reviews not only hurt the company that your posting about but the other employees that are part of that firm. Glassdoor permits misinformation, untrue information, and innuendo. 90% of you that want to post these negative reviews are probably fired for good reason and the fact that you're wanting to post a negative anonymous piece online substantiates the real person that you are. My name is Bill Hamm.
I'm a freelancer in the process of trying to get a negative review posted about a company I've contracted with. For some reason, Glassdoor won't approve it. The first time, I did get an approval (complete with approval email!), then someone deleted it. Now I can't get my feedback approved. I've altered it three times, making it less angry with each revision, but no less honest.
Glassdoor's comments tell me I'm a) not allowed to call them out for approving then deleting honest feedback, and b) I'm apparently giving away trade secrets because of my specific examples. What's the point of a review if it isn't honest and specific?
The bottom line? Don't waste your time checking a company out on Glassdoor. There has to be some sort of deal between them and corporations being reviewed because they are very hesitant to post honest, negative feedback.
User beware.
I went there to review my former job because it was a terrible company. It never got posted, I was wondering why. So the next day I was checking my email and I find out their moderators felt I was too specific about the situations about my former job and I gave too much criticism. A review is supposed to be specific. That point makes no sense. A review is also supposed to be honest and it should be exactly how you feel, like what I'm doing right now. I'm not holding any punches and beating around the bush. I'm telling you exactly what my opinion is about Glassdoor. I'm not doing some elementary school BS being totally nice. I didn't do any name-calling, mention anybody and use profanity. But yet I have to edit mine for being too specific and giving too much criticism. Who controls reviews based on those two reasons? Glassdoor is a bad website that has no clue on how reviews are supposed to work.
Glassdoor is controlling everything that it being said regarding any company you may wish to review, they will not let you post a honest and comprehensive review, they will have you edit your review so many times until it fits what they would like to be said with regard to the company you are reviewing.
With that said, reading reviews on Glassdoor is meaningless as they are inaccurate and are modified by that site.
Glassdoor can not be trusted and only leaves up positive reviews. I've worked for two companies now that staright up steal money and are unhunest and somewhow they had almost 5 stars. Later found out this was because the owener of campnies were paying to write positive reviews and have them kept up while all negative reviews were being taken down and glassdoor was abiding. This site can not be trusted. Don't bother to use it. Companies control this sight and employees really dont have a say in what is posted so it completely defeats the purpose of the site.
Sounds like Glassdoor has become just another liberal site, controlling what and what not to be allowed on their site. Glassdoor, you suck! And eventually, it will catch up with you.
I had a bad experience at a company and wrote an honest but overall negative review. It was deleted a week later. And now there are only positive reviews posted about the company. All the negative reviews from other employees seem to have been deleted too. This is not honest, ethical or fair. This was meant to be a voice for both the company and the employees. It cannot be one sided.
Had a company review posted on Glassdoor for 2 months, then boom it was gone. Nothing from Glassdoor informing me that the review was going to be deleted. I found nothing helpful in the FAQ's about why this was and got in touch. Explanation provided was appalling and no context to what I had inquired about. It was obviously a boiler-plate response and I responded as such. Further response was that they use algorithms to determine a fake review, cannot submit more than one review per company, no derogatory language etc. In all cases this was not correct - 1st time review + it was a true account of the time spent at the company and it was not offensive in the slightest. Having looked through the feedback at sitejabber & qoura... there appears to be a lot of people complaining. Only conclusion is that Glassdoor is heavily influenced by the very same companies that people seek out honest reviews. Whether there is sponsorship involved or not, there is something not right here. It needs further investigating and perhaps an Ombudsman type body to review further,
I've been searching jobs in "Perth, WESTERN AUSTRALIA" but the website gives me back a list of job vacancies in "Perth in UNITED KINGDOM".
I know that we still have the Queen is still our Head of State, and I do really appreciate the effort in finding me a job, but really? It is a little bit too far, don't you think?
I do notice a lot of negative reviews on Glassdoor and consistency in the kinds of major complaints that individual companies receive, so I wouldn't say the system is totally useless. However, Glassdoor is bad at evaluating which reviews should be approved and which ones should be removed. Both my company reviews were removed without them notifying me. My reviews were thoughtful and didn't violate their guidelines. (One of my reviews was lukewarm and the other one was very positive, so it wasn't just a matter of them removing negative reviews due to the company paying them.)
When I asked them why my reviews were removed, they said "Per our Community Guidelines, we only allow members to submit one review, per company worked at, per year. We have removed your reviews due to violation of this guideline." However, I did not violate that guideline.
Is there a gov agency monitoring this false business?
Then we should all get together and do a class action suit against GD
They are terrorizing both employers and emplyees and then asking us for money $$$
If we pay $800 a month like $10,000 annually they will monitor our site to their liking
If not they allow anyone to post anything multiple times and destroy our integrity:
Come on lets all get together and pitch a class action suit against GD
Add to this list
They are THE FAKE FALSE BILLION DOLLAR SCAM OF THIS DECADE
And worst then all of this is GD and all of their employees who support DECEIPT & DECEPTION FALSE & FAKE
Lets unite and get this under government control or who has licensed this trash GD?

Answer: When a company gets negative reviews, glassdoor contacts them and uses the negative review as leverage to get the company to sign up for a subscription with glassdoor. They pretty much tell the company that if they take out a subscription the bad reviews will be removed
