I heard about GLAMBOT in a makeup tutorial. I know they both buy and sell lightly used used makeup, but I'm not comfortable using used makeup bc I have sensitive skin- so, I decided to send in some of my extra eye palettes. I mostly sent in Too Faced, NARS, MAC and Urban Decay. (I kept my beloved HUDA palettes for myself- lol). I made sure that I only sent in brand on their accepted list. I was a bit paranoid about packing the palettes since they are fragile, but I used some scrap bubble wrap and paper that I had around the house. Also made sure to use an old Amazon box bc I don't think a bag would do the job. The process took a bit longer than I expected but I think they are a small-ish company, so not really fair to hold them to Amazon type standards (lol). I chose cash and not the store credit- I think I ended up earning about 40% of retail. Pretty satisfied considering they paid for the shipping and there were no additional tacked on fees. I'll definitely share my experience with my close GFs. Thank You GLAMBOT!
I work in beauty retail and my coworker told me about this company. She has sold a few times before. I thought it was a great idea- especially since we get so much makeup to test so we can make recommendations to customers. There are only a few mainstay items that use on a daily basis (and only so many shades of eyeshadow and lipstick that I feel comfortable rocking) so being able to sell was a real life saver. I even send in high quality items that they don't accept since I figure they'll make better use of it than me. Great idea!
Hi Nova! Thats so nice that you heard about us from a trusted source such as your coworker! Glad that you found selling to Glambot to be a life saver! We hope to see your next box of makeup soon!
Sent in my first box of makeup to them last week. I got the email offer for my items within a day or so of my package reaching their facility. Because it was my first time selling, I was keeping an eye on my package's tracking. I probably sent in about $200 retail value worth of makeup, so I was a bit nervous about it. It took about 10 days for my package to be delivered to them. They must use basic parcel standard shipping (which I can understand because they pay for the shipping upfront). My offer was $90- I think that was pretty good considering that some of the items were somewhat used. I was expecting more but it's some spending cash for the weekend- so it's all good to me! Will share about them to my friends who could use their service.
Hi Mia! Re. You sending in your first sell package- that's GREAT news. Our free shipping label does have updated tracking, making it a convenient way to check in on and track the movement of your package, online. 10 days is a bit longer than average for a sell package to arrive, but that might have been due to where you are located (ie. If you are located on the east coast since we are located in San Francisco). I wish we could give more cash for sell offers but we are in the re-sale/second-hand business. Another selling tip is the better brands and product you send in, the better your sell offer will be. Hope to see you send in another sell package soon and thanks for spreading the word! -xo
I subscribe to several beauty subscription boxes. I love the variety of the items I get every month. Thing is, I like to sample and don't use everything, so I end up with a lot of barely used or even not used, makeup samples. Because some of the items are skincare or other types of creams, they won't stay good forever. My bathroom drawer would start to get really packed and I didn't have any space for my actual makeup. Plus, the clutter was too much to deal with. I learned about Glambot and how they buy used makeup and skincare. I requested a free shipping label and sent my stuff in. I didn't get too much cash in return, but it was better than nothing! Pretty satisfied and will send in another box of makeup and skincare within the next month or so. Thanks guys!
Hi Sophia! Beauty subscription boxes can be an amazing way to sample a lot of brands and products. I actually subscribe to 2 different ones, so I can relate to the bathroom "clutter" scenario. >.< I'm sorry that your cash offer wasn't what your heart desired, but samples or miniature sized items are not sold at the same price as full sized retail items, so in turn, the offer to a seller will be lower. Happy that you were satisfied overall and were able to clear out and organize afterwards :)
I don't have that much experience selling things online. I tried once before on Facebook Marketplace but it was a turn off because random people were reaching out to me. There were not really serious and were asking a lot of questions that they could have answered themselves if they actually read the listing. The thing that aggravated me was the constant haggling! Ok end of vent there. Glambot was a great alternative because you sell directly to them and they are a legit professional business. It's like giving your makeup to Goodwill but you get cash back! So glad I found them online. Once my makeup stash builds up again, I will be sending out another box for sure!
Hi Charlotte! I totally agree with you that there are some major downsides when trying to sell directly to another person online. Not everyone is serious about buying and it's hard to get people to read instructions. If you have a lot of listings live at once, you can waste a lot of your precious time answering redundant questions and dealing with not-so-serious buyers. Glad that you found out about us!
I used to be a MUA but recently stopped to have my first child. My train of makeup had over 200 pieces of makeup. I wanted to sell everything at once- Glambot totally pulled through here. If I had tried to sell on other places online, I would have ended up having to sell individual pieces of makeup amounts ton of different buyers. Glambot saves me a lot of time and a lot of headache!
Hi Amelia! That's so amazing that you used to be a Makeup Artist. You all are true masters of your trade and sometimes miracle workers. From what I understand, MUAs usually end up accumulating a lot of makeup because they have a range of different looks that they create for clients that have different tastes, skintone and color preferences. Because we allow sellers to sell their entire haul of makeup at once, it definitely saves a lot of time. If you have a lot of items that you need to de-stash and want to sell everything at once, Glambot is definitely the place to for you! Good luck on your next career phase :)
I have to admit- I'm a makeup addict and have lots of "holy grail" items that I have purchased that didn't work for me. Sephora Brand, MAC, Tarte, Too Faced, Dior Makeup, Unused lipsticks, Eye shadow palettes and more! You'll be seeing my box soon!
Hi Bella- Makeup addicts are all welcome. It's only natural that favorite makeup items come and go. One's skintone can change with seasons and climate. Those are some blockbuster brands that you listed above. And yes, we currently accept all of those brands. We look forward to seeing your box soon. Don't forget to 1) include samples for a cash bonus and 2) pack your fragile items (ie. Palettes and glass bottles) carefully so they arrive safely!
I found your company when I googled "sell used makeup". So glad I found you guys. I work for a manufacturer and have access to a lot of the makeup that can't be sold in regular retail stores because of minor imperfections, out dated packaging, etc. Because of this, I need to sell anonymously. I love that you allow sellers to do that. Disclosure- I'm posting this under a friend's account. Just wanted to help get the word out about your wonderful service!
Hi Emma! Thanks so much for leaving your thoughtful review. Yes, privacy and confidentiality is very important to some of our sellers. I can totally relate and understand the need to keep one's online dealings, confidential. Really awesome that you are sharing your experience so that others can discover the service we offer.
I've sold on some other selling apps and I just wasn't impressed. It took a lot of time and potential buyers who were interested would send me messages all day- I just didn't have the time to keep up. The thing that urged me the most was that a lot of potential buyers would ghost me last minute- pfft. What a waste of time. I just sent in my first box so I'm very excited to get my offer from you. Have been checking my email everyday >.<
Hi Ava! Thanks for sharing your story. I have never tried one of those apps, but I can imagine the constant back and forth, as well as not-so-serious buyers. Glad that you were able to find us! You'' be getting your sell cash offer soon- just keep and eye out for our email! Take care :)
I was so excited to find Glambot! I've accumulated a lot of makeup over the years. A lot of name brand stuff just sitting around. So glad that I am able to send you my gently/unused make-up for someone else to use :)
Hi Jolie! Very thoughtful and generous of you to want to find you unloved makeup a new home! I'm sure that the new owner would thank you personally if she/he could. We hope you'll consider our service again in the near future!
Second hand Fashion via clothing and accessories has been around forever, so it's about time that Beauty also follows. I have some girlfriends who buy and own A LOT of makeup. Most of the time, they use a palette a few times and then it just ends up sitting around. Now, we can sell the makeup we don't use all the time and make some money from it. We'll probably end up buying more makeup with the cash though, haha. Oh wells. But I definitely think they're on to something here!
Hi Olivia! Thanks for the compliment- we think it's a pretty cool idea as well ;)
I'm a makeup junkie and NOT afraid to admit it!
I love buying new releases from all my favorite brands, but have limited room for all my beloveds. I HATE throwing anything away because it seems wasteful. Most of my makeup is still in pretty good condition and wasn't cheap!
I bought makeup from glambot.com before and had a good experience, so I thought I'd try selling my makeup this time. I sent in several ABH palettes as well as some NARS and Too Faced items. I also threw in some unused samples because they offer a cash bonus for those.
I packed my stuff carefully and used their FREE shipping label to send my items in. It took about a week for my package to be delivered and for them to email me my offer. (This was a bit nerve wracking as there were no email updates re. Tracking).
The emailed offer gave a total dollar amount as well as a description of the 2 items that were not accepted. One item was expired (whoops!) and the other item did not have enough product left. My cash offer was $56.00.
I was expecting a bit more and contacted their customer support. They nicely explained that a lot of work goes into each piece of makeup before it can be sold again. They need to "keep the lights on" as well as offer attractive prices to buyers, so I get it. If you have ever sold clothing to Buffalo Exchange, Crossroads, etc. you get very little in return.
All in all, I think selling to Glambot was a GREAT IDEA! I was able to pass my makeup to others who would appreciate them more and was also able to earn some extra pocket cash! Woot woot!
Hi Nicole! Glad that you found us and were able to sell your ABH palettes for some cold hard cash! Don't forget to visit us again when you need to clear out some makeup :)
Answer: I contacted their sell department directly using the email sell@glambot.com. Sophie helped me- she was very helpful and nice!
Answer: I sent in 3 ABH makeup palettes as well as some other NARS, TOO Faced and unused makeup samples. My cash offer was for $56. I could have chose $72.80 in Glambucks store credit, but chose the cash. It wasn't too much work but they could have been faster. Overall, no complaints though!
Answer: Because it was convenient to send in all my items as once. Plus, I also wanted cash up front and did not want to list items and wait for them to sell.
Hi Belinda! Those are some great brands that you sent in. No worries that you kept your HUDA for yourself, hehe. Yes, it can be a bit tricky safely packing pressed powders for shipping- especially when they are palettes! Sorry for the delay in processing your package- we do try our best to stay within the 2-3 business day window once the package arrives at our facility, but when there is a surge of packages- we may fall behind because of limited team size. Thank you for sharing your experience with your friends. We hope to hear again from you soon!
