I have ordered two flatware sets from GILT. Received them after two (!) weeks of waiting. Both of them were not what I have ordered. Called customer support. They told that there is no exchange. So if I still want it I need to order it since they are in stock. So I sent these wrong sets back and reordered again. Guess what - two weeks later got these two wrong sets I sent back! I'm out of money and fighting to get my refund back. On the website policy it stated "refund under 72 hours", actually it is one week and half.
Compared to all the other flash sites, Gilt (and MyHabit) are the best ones, I have since stopped ordering from all other sites due to the amount of crap they sell. Everything I've ordered from Gilt has been great quality as long you stick with the better known brands. I only had a problem once with a mirror that arrived broken and they promptly issued a return label free of charge and received a refund.
I really like this site, they usually have such gorgeous things... and they have top notch delivery times, my only issue with them is the number of emails I get every day... they have like 4 or 5 sister companies... Other than that, and of course I wish their discounts were higher :)
So annoying! They guaranteed a gift by Christmas and they also guarantee a 24 response policy to customer service emails. When I placed an order a week and a half before Christmas, I did so expecting to have no issues with the delivery, given it was guaranteed by 12/24. However the package did not arrive by 12/24, which I knew would happen when on 12/20 the tracking information said it would arrive by 12/27. I contacted Gilt, and after 48 hours still didn't hear from them, so had to contact them again. And they finally responded saying no, it should get there by 12/24.12/24 came and went with no package delivery, so I contacted Gilt again. They agreed to refund my nominal shipping fee but never once apologized or offered any explanation as to why I didn't receive my package as promised. Don't use Gilt! Their deals are not worth the tremendous headache and poor customer service.
Gilt is a great business from which to order. When there's a problem, they resolve it. Customer service is readily available, responsive and fast. I'm happy to spend money with Gilt and recommend them to friends and family. The exact opposite can be said of Bluefly. The difference between the two companies is stark. Yay for Gilt. They are a shining example of ecommerce done right.
I happen to be a Consumer Services Manager, and I well know how important and valued it is when people take the time to applaud the efforts of these hardworking specialists especially during peak season! Orders are often sent with incorrect sizes. Customer service refuses to correct the order. They will acknowledge the error they made but won't rectify it because they don't have the correct size in stock! They just send what they have even when it's wrong.
Purchased a pair of dress shoes that the leather peeled after being worn two times. I do not wear these very often so I didn't realize the defect in their time period. The customer service was terrible and did nothing to remedy the situation of defective shoes. I will not be purchasing from them again. I understand that there can be issues with products from time to time but there is no excuse for poor customer service and the customer baring the cost in these situations.
I have not received my product yet, so I can't speak to the quality of the merchandise, but based on these reviews I am hoping my order is the exception. I will say this: when one spends a certain dollar amount on an item from a vendor, one expects to receive the item in an expedient manner. Gilt clearly does not know or care about their customers as they have taken the money from my account, but are taking their sweet time getting my merchandise to me. I have received ebay orders from private sellers that have shipped and delivered faster than my "high-end purchase" from Gilt. Pathetic. Just for reference, it's going on the second week since I have ordered, paid, and not yet received that which I have paid for. Terrible Customer Service and I will not be spending money with this company again.
I did not take advantage of a promotional email while checking out. I immediately contacted Gilt's Customer Service, once I noticed that I had not used my coupon code. Rebecca, the specialist, and the entire Gilt Customer Service team was more than exceptional in making sure my 30% was refunded to my account and communicating with me every step of the way. Awesome!
I will never again make a purchase on gilt again. They advertise that if an existing member invites you to the website and you will get $25 deducted from you first purchase. I typed in all my credit card info for my first purchase and before submit the $25 off was applied, but after I clicked submit the OFFER WAS GONE. On the confirmation email it also showed that I was paying the full price. What is this? Deceiving consumers? False marketing ads?
There was a problem with my bed that I ordered through Gilt. Parts were missing and the Gilt reps followed up on my requests for getting it fixed promptly. I got the parts I needed and some reimbursement amount for my trouble. I appreciate how dedicated they are to their customers. Gilt is my favorite online place to shop and for good reason. They have high quality goods and diverse brands to choose from.

They sent the wrong item and have done nothing to remedy it. They refuse to acknowledge that the item I ordered has not arrived. Every email I sent is responded with a generic text simply about returning the wrong item back... What about what I ordered?!
The customer service is terrible. I bought their full year of free shipping and now I regret it. I hate giving business to companies who do not care for their customers.
Their customer service is the worst. They only accept returns and only for store credit. They are very unwilling to help a customer. I am always "indebted" to them with store credits if I return something and forced to spend my money on their website until I use up the credit.
I have ordered jewelry too only to have it arrive in pieces and they refuse to accept the return even when it was not properly packaged or shipped.
I have never dealt with such terrible service. I am so glad to see so many others with the same problems.
Nothing but good experiences with Gilt! I have been a member for over a year and have purchased many items through them. Shipping can be slow, but anytime I have contacted them about an order I haven't had any issues. Love their selection at affordable prices!
I ordered a Kate Spade wallet (sale item) on 23 Aug 18, it costed me 9. XX dollar for the US shipping and I just waited it to ship forever. Also I only got 1 confirmation email since I purchased the item. It said it will be shipped on 3 Sept. Fine, I wait.
Today (3 Sep) I logged in my account to check the status, and it showed my order had been cancelled!? They had nothing to explain and I didn't receive any email for the cancellation! It seems like they haven't cost any money from my visa but again the card company did send me a sms for the authority for the Gilt, so I don't know! Now I just hope they will not withdrew any money from my Visa, I must keep an eye on it. Worst online shopping experience ever!
Horrible customer service. Their online support is a joke, they take forever to respond and all they do is regurgitate what's on the site. 30 days to process my order... seriously? And they're unapologetic about it. In today's market of customer service, Gilt is woefully behind compared to it's competition. DO NOT BUY FROM GILT!
The tracking system said that my package had been delivered, but it was no where to be found. Gilt Customer Service was amazing. I emailed the team and within 24 hours I received a response with a solution that better than expected. The Customer Support team is attentive, helpful, and have customer satisfaction in mind!
I purchased a pair of sandals from this site. I knew they were final sale however when I received them, they looked nothing like the photo of the shoes on the website. I called to ask to at least be able to return them for a credit. They refused (even after seeing I've purchased numerous time from them) and now I am stuck with shoes that look nothing like what I thought I was getting. Be careful purchasing from this site and I would never again purchase a final sale item.

Answer: DO NOT purchase from Gilt! They state they "stand behind the authenticity" of their products. THEY DO NOT! I paid $975.96 for a LV handbag. Later, (after the 30 day refund policy) it started falling apart. Found out it was a fake. Gilt will not exchange or do anything to correct this. It's horrible customer service.
