I should've read reviews before shopping there. They marked something as small fitting and to order half a size up when in fact the shoes I got are true to size. I ordered half a size up which is too big and they will not even offer a partial store credit minus shipping fees and restocking fees. On top of this they won't give me any insider points because I didn't opt in for a free Insider account when I made the purchase. Explanation I got for customers not automatically accumulating points is some people don't want cashback. ARE THESE PEOPLE FOR REAL? At this point the rep abruptly left the chat room which is fine. I won't be dealing with these people again.

I had two missing parts from a lamp set that I ordered a long time ago but didnt open. Maureen was able to give me a partial refund for the parts and I am very happy with that as I didnt want to return them. The parts are easy to get.

Gilt has a somewhat restrictive return policy in that returns are only allowed for 21 days and then only for store credit. However, there customer service is great and I returned something months after receiving it and they still accepted it for a full refund. I'm guessing they saw that I was a good customer and wasn't returning a bunch of stuff and decided to give me a break (YMMV).

The prices are great for the quality of stuff. They email daily about deals, which can be a bit tiresome, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that those emails can be toned down through some time of user prefs... I've just never bothered because the emails don't really bother me.

Also checkout jetsetter.com, a luxury travel site that is part of the gilt groupe.

I wanted to do a quick follow up on my original review for the benefit of other potential or current Gilt customers.

After I put up my review on 11/27/2017, a young lady called Maureen responded here and asked me to contact her. In brief, Gilt offered to waive for me the shipping fee, if I wanted to repurchase the coat and offered oblique and ridiculous apologies plus a boy-scout promise to do better next time. Incredibly inept customer service.

I had to pay several hundred dollars for moth control person to do my apartment after the Gilt debacle. For that, I was offered a $7.99 fee discount.

I rate Gilt 5 stars for social media reaction and 0 stars for overall customer service. I have discontinued my account and have not looked back since. I am receiving much better customer service and better pricing at barneyswarehouse.com, lastcall.com, yoox.com and a ton of other platforms.

I've been a Gilt customer for several years and have enjoyed shopping at the website before. My last experience, however, is absolutely atrocious and I think Gilt has gone seriously downhill. Think twice before buying clothes from them or else your entire wardrobe may become infested with moths!

I purchased a wool coat two weeks ago. They shipped me the wrong coat. I had to repurchase the original one, return the wrong one and wait for refund (still waiting). The process of getting this done took several rounds communicating with customer service who are clearly instructed to discourage customers from doing anything, but buying and shutting up.

I received the correct wool coat yesterday. It was in a sealed plastic bag... with MOTHS in it! I instantly called customer service, who clearly didn't know what to do and all they offered was to issue a return label.

Then I emailed Gilt detailing the situation and asking them to explain clearly what specific efforts they'd make to try to keep me as a customer. And how they'd address the moth issue... After 24 hours, I received a curt and canned response that 'my issue' was resolved by staff on the phone. Textbook customer service ineptitude.

Would I ever take the risk of buying clothing potentially infested with moths again? Double negative.

UPDATE: A customer support specialist reached out to me about returning the bag after SiteJabber review and I was able to get site credit for the purchase. Not quite the same as having my money back, but better than being stuck with a factory bag I didn't mean to purchase.

Gilt sold me a factory labeled Celine bag when the pictures clearly showed the same bag without the factory label in the exact same place on the bag. They showed a picture of the item being sold that was different from what I received. When I asked for a return they refused to give me one. This is definitely misrepresentation of what is being sold and shady. If the page labeled that the bag was factory it makes more sense, but I looked over the page and sent them a screenshot, nowhere on the page did it mention it, and the pictures showed bags without the factory label.

I placed an order for a couch on 7/16/2016. With a delivery date between 8/2-8/10. I placed many calls to Gilt asking for updates. My purchase was coming from the manufacturer. So Gilt, didn't have any info about my order. Today, on 9/1. I get some info on the order. The manufacturer doesn't have the couch. Will get it in stock mid October. The delivery in Nov. Gilt asked if I would like a 150.00 refund (once the couch is delivered or a 75.00 credit towards another couch) Are you kidding? I wanted to cancel this order back in Aug and you won't let me because it was final order. Today, finally after waiting three weeks and because I wouldn't extend waiting until Nov. Or a 75.00 credit towards a new Couch. S

I had a $20 promotion in free items, I made a purchase of $12.00 then with added tax it came to approx. 7cents. It then gave me free shipping for one hr as advertised, so I added an additional item that should have still had been free but then charged shipping! I called and was told the free shipping for one hr was only on my NEXT purchase although it showed up on my first so I was then charged a total of $5.95 to my card! What a GIMMICK! I then removed the last item and I better have a credit on my charge card! BEWARE

I have purchased furniture, artwork, area rugs from Gilt. All high end designer items. Area rugs are a disaster as they are definitely NOT the same quality as I would get from Neiman Marcus or Horchow.

Ripped corners and wrinkles that DO NOT diminish.

I have been a longtime member of Gilt, was buying from them when they started and before many people knew of them. They have changed their policies over and over again, first it was a full refund, now its only a store credit under $250. Now after spending so many years and gaining points I used part of them towards some shoes. I asked the rep to check before I bought the shoes if I had to return them would I get money or points back? She explained I would get a credit for the money I spent and the points would go back to my acct. Now after having to return them they are telling me I'm out of luck, no points and just a measly small credit. After so many years with this company I am very disappointed. Will not be shopping with them again.

As a "one time FAVOR" they returned the credit they applied to my account to my card for a pair of shoes that were way small. As a Favor I will not use there site again in order not to invonvenience them. Get real.

I ordered two counter stools. I was told only one was available though I kept getting notices that my item was available. I contacted customer service twice to cancel the ONE stool. I only heard from them when the item was shipped and they couldn't do anything about it. Then when the one stool did get here it is the wrong color -- that I ordered and that the packing slip lists! I've emailed customer service twice with no response. I will not order from gilt again.

I ordered a Rebecca Minkoff purse for my daughter for Christmas. Great shipping and packaging but the purse is not quality. Are designers selling products of lesser quality on the site? I have a RM purse I bought in NYC and there is a huge difference in the quality of the leather and lining. I feel a bit ripped off, I would never have paid 299.00 for this purse.

I contacted customer support, and your representative, Maureen Finnin, helped me promptly, efficiently, and kindly. She even retroactively applied a coupon that I realized I had received just minutes before the sale began, saving me an additional 30%! I could not have been happier with her commitment to customer satisfaction, and she has greatly increased the likelihood that I will order from Gilt again in the very near future!

Gilt is the Worst!

Gilt is the Worst! I am an avid online customer. I love the discount sites. I have been a groupon customer since they began. I never had a problem with groupon and the items are pretty much as they are stated, no bad surprises mostly good ones.
Living Social same thing. Very good no problems.

My friend bought me a gift certificate to blue apron for 3 meals to be delivered to my home. I went to redeem and was told I have to join a weekly subsciption or they will not honor, I never heard of this. Why would they issue a gift cert if they are not honoring. Scam. I am delfated and feel like they got us.
Never again...

No trust company! They are liar! I purchased shoes from Gilt.com, but the size was tooooo big so I tried to return the item at that time but they said that the item I purchased is non refundable so I claimed the dispute through the credit card company and Gilt.com said that I do accept the return but I have never tried to call them to return... They said all item which is on sale is non refundable... They are playing words with me... I'm so disappointed...

I am not the kind of person to write reviews but am hoping this helps someone who really wants to order from this site. I was very reluctant to order anything from this site because of all the horrible reviews I read about authenticity and shipping but am really glad that I did not listen and did some other research. Last week I ordered an Ergo baby carrier that was a crazy good deal. I was so hesitant that I even called the Ergo makers to make sure that they were an authorized site... but still being so reluctant I wasn't sure if I would be ordering an authentic one. I took the plunge anyway expecting the shipping to take a month like most reviews said... but received it 5 days after ordering it! When I opened the box I quickly went on a site that compared authentic baby Ergos to fake ones and was extremely happy when I found that mine IS authentic! Thankfully I didn't listen to all the horrible reviews and saved 55 dollars on an Ergo carrier!

I ordered a sunglasses and ended up getting one that looks totally different from what I had ordered. It cost me over $100 but they said if I just use it they will offer me $15. Lol. What an amazing way to sell $85 sunglasses that is not popular.
My cousin got the parcel and sent it to Korea where I was living. And they didn't want to pay for the cost for shipping it back to the US. If they sent the right product from the first place I wouldn't have to send it back to the US. So I lost my time and lost my chance to get the right product for me(original frame I wanted to order was already sold out). And now I have to pay for the return while they are not taking any disadvantage. They don't take any responsibility for what they have done wrong.
Worst service I have ever had.
