I will never shop there again, because i feel like they fraud me. I ordered a flatware set from wmf, which is a GERMAN company with outstanding quality products and i received a flatware set from a company "wmf vietnam"... great! The wmf vietnam product has a poor quality and they did not mark the product as such on their website. But here is the thing: i can not even return the product! I am so dissapointed, but maybe it is also my own fault, because REAL wmf products do not sell for such a low price. Anyway, this was my first and last shopping experience with gilt.
I have a strong hunch that most of the items that suggest they are from the designer are actually either "inspired" by the designer's style but made by someone else OR a lower standard knockoff possibly made by the designer exclusively for Gilt. If you read the fine print, it tells you to check the FAQs to understand what is meant by 'slash through pricing'. There is just something about this site that doesn't seem right. Can anyone shed any light on this thought? For instance, how is it possible to be on a waitlist for something that is 80% off unless they're simply manufacturing it again and, if so, could they really already predict that the new inventory will be 80% off?
I received such wonderful service through gilt. I received an order that was partly damaged upon arrival. When I emailed the customer serv department, I was given a sincere apologie and the problem was corrected immediately. Thank you gilt!
While the selection is attractive, buyer beware
I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of light fixtures and home decor from them
Within a few months I have had problems with half of them.
Arrived damaged. Poor packaging of one of the fixtures
Costumer service refused to take it back or handle to manufacturer
Other light fixtures bulbs went out within days
Nearly impossible to replace
Carpet matted within a few months
Costomer service is useless and refers to the manual rather than ethics and common sense and decency
Why bother with the Costomer service department at all if the intention is to refuse every email they recieve?
Move on to other sites. This one is on its way out

After writing my initial review of Gilt and their customer service on 9/12/2015, I received a message from Gilt CS rep Laura, on 9/13/2015, apologizing for the experience, and would like to look further into the issue and provide a satisfactory resolution. I have since then replied two times to Laura at Gilt, but have not heard back from Laura or Gilt as of today 9/17/2015, nor any action has been taken to remedy the issue. Once again, Gilt has exemplified their poor customer service.
My complaint is that the quality of Chortex towels I have ordered has varied by order. I ordered two sets of Indulgence towels and then two more sets a month or so later. The quality of the two later sets was noticeably poorer -- threads and thinner feel to the terry cloth. This makes me think that the manufacturer may sell second to Gilt and Gilt sells them without mentioning this. And, of course, I can't send them back.
Ordered a pair of non returnable boots from Gilt. They listed 9.5 but they were European sized 39.5 which wasn't disclosed. I am a 9 and couldn't get my foot into them. My friend and 8-8.5 couldn't either. And these are non returnable?!? Rip off!
I referred my friend and he said his first purchase.
He got his item today but I did not get $25 for referral credit.

I referred a friend to Gilt city and in doing so, you get a $20 voucher if your refferal makes their first purchase. I wanted to purchase a Spa package on Gilt but when I was checking out their was no credit for $20. I contacted Gilt City about not being able to redeem my referral credit of $20 but they said I said it should apply but when I get check out and ready to pay it didn't show up. I believe this is a scam on Gilt's part. Their customer service is horrible, unethical dealing with problems, and liars. Consumers beware of their referral as they do not grant it as they say. I will never buy at Gilt City again. BUYERS BEWARE!
They have the worst customer service in the world. I am closing my account because I have gotten screwed over three times returning things. They will only give you store credit, and even if the website is malfunctioning and says the item is returnable for a full refund when you buy it, they will refuse to give your money back because apparently if I had looked up the return policy I would have seen that I can only get store credit. On top of that, you can't return something at all if more than 30 days have passed since you purchased the item, giving absolutely no leeway for delivery- which took a full week by the way. They are just always looking for a way to screw you rather than trying to encourage you to continue shopping. Which is why I am no longer going to continue shopping. I will just use RueLaLa or Hautelook or ideeli or Fab or theRealReal or Zulily or Groupon or LivingSocial, cuz you're not special GILT!
This site sold me a fake gucci purse and when I tried to remove myself from their email list they continue to spam me with multiple daily emails. I have unsubscribed from their list at least 5 times and they continue to spam me daily.

One month later, they sent an email and it was cancled because they had no stocks anymore.
They offered $50.
I was mad but I had to accept.
I ordered the other dining chairs from the other site.
However, they sent an email and it was error, so they would send the dining chairs without any call.
I found that email in spam after I checked my bank account.
They just cancled and then they charged!
I sent a lot of emails and they said they would do their best for solving this problem.
However they had not sent dining chairs and just charged money.
They had not refund!
Just took my money.
I order early Sep, so it takes 2months.
Nothing to solve!
I will open dispute and I will never buy from this scam site!

I follow/buy on Gilt since their starts. I never published a review before when I had problems with them, because I thought it was only a mistake for 1 or 2 times... but I am tired of their deceiving shipping estimates dates. They post a delivery estimate and when you placed already the order, and they give you a delivery date, then they shp the item when they want. I received 2 packages already 10 days later than what they were supposed to deliver. I was on the phone right now 20 minutes with "Wanda", who ended up saying she could do nothing about it. AWFALL CUSTOMER SERVICE by the way. Wouldn't buy never again on GILT.com
I ordered 4 items from gilt.com. Only 1 fitted so I sent back 3 items (June 20th) To this day, after at least 10 emails, no refund. On top of that, they are telling me that I sent back only 2 items. The last message I got was I would get a refund on my credit card, I paid with a gift card, all I want is to get credit back on my account. Terrible service! So bottom line, I will loose the money I spent on the 3rd item and I have no way to prove I sent it back. Never again, beware customer.
I have learned to research prices before buying from gilt. I have found they misrepresent retail prices. For example, today they are selling the cuisonart handmixer at the "sale" price of $50, and indicate the retail was $90. The same hand mixer is $50 retail on the cuisinart website. This is common in my experience. I have called customer service to ask about this fact in the past and got nowhere. They are dishonest, and I will be deleting the app off of my phone. They should be ashamed of themselves for deceiving consumers.
Purchased a chandalaire from Guilt. Hired electrician to install said chandalaire. (200.00)
Electrician left put light bulbs in and the 2 sockets are defective. Gilt will not replace the light and will not reimburse the cost of the electrician.
I thought Gilt was a reputable business. It was a huge disappointment when I bought an Omega Speedmaster that arrived with bogus paperwork. I took it to a reputable Omega dealer and to my surprise, they pointed out that the paperwork said that it was an Omega Seamaster... completely different watch. They also said that I paid $500.00 too much for the watch. Gilt is either running a very shady business or a very sloppy one. My advice is to stay away from this company when purchasing luxury goods. When I called to report the problem, they were not very responsive.
Terrible company who lies about the product. I was promised tickets for a Yankee game that I bought for my mother's 75th birthday. The game was rained out... The gilt.com Representative assured us that we could go to a game in the 2014 season. NOW they are denying us the tickets. I even have an email from Jon Andres( their rep) stating we could get another game in 2014. BUYER BEWARE! They took $300 from us and we never got to go to the game. They shouldn't even get 1 star. I have been waiting for my money to be returned to me for a while now so I went online to find out where it was... and of course I then spied the fact I have a "Credit" to spend at the site rather than getting my money back. I spent money on your site so I expect to get money back! Don't use this site I implore you, go somewhere else and get customer service worthwhile, this is a toal ripoff company and not in the spirit of the internet at all! They effectively took my money and gave me nothing for it, and if tahts not a ripoff then I don't know what is.

Answer: DO NOT purchase from Gilt! They state they "stand behind the authenticity" of their products. THEY DO NOT! I paid $975.96 for a LV handbag. Later, (after the 30 day refund policy) it started falling apart. Found out it was a fake. Gilt will not exchange or do anything to correct this. It's horrible customer service.
