Website works really bad, your database is super old and useless, I also found a few unreal opencalls, so everything looks just like another one way to take money from artist. Why don't you make this service for promoters and don't ask them to pay for looking for artists and propose them a gig?
As a new and independent Artist I had no experience of gig bookings. Even though I haven't booked a suitable concert yet, I am pleased to have learnt a lot about bookings and the basic things that artists are required to do before getting on the stage to perform,
Gigmit is subscription fraud, which with a misleading contract with a couple of clicks would tie you for whole the year of payments, without the possibility of cancelling and even offers almost nothing. They just rob musicians. The support is a joke, they do not reply emails for a couple of months. If you would stop pay they own debt collectors company and they will harras you hard. They are a scam! High alert for any potential customers!
I can see that Gigmit is a very good service. My own slight dissatisfaction comes from the fact that, being based in the UK, I'd like to be offered a good number of UK gigs and there have been very few. Some of the gigs offered seem fairly low-grade, open mic style, or band-rosters. I reported this to Gigmit and received a very helpful and polite reply explaing that the UK is a major territory for them but can only offer the gigs which promoters send to the platform.
Been using it for a while and while it is not perfect, one can clearly see the headways they made. They have a very committed team also seem to run a lot of great projects for international emerging artists.
Worth to stick around for more!
The problem its that I've been applying for 3 years on almost every single festival and offer and NEVER I've been chosen for any gig. Probably things should be different. Maybe promoters or festivals should search bands for their gigs too or I don't Know
I haven't yet gotten a booking through Gigmit so I can't say anything about my personal experience really!
Need more accepted gigs. Need more paid gigs. There is not alot of venues or festivals that are accepting or paying gigs.
We are a Copenhagen based band, and there's not much venues in the database.
When trying to use the Gigmit website on my mobile phone, the UX is poor. I get errors when trying to edit the artist page.
It's unclear how much utility is the platform for an new band like mine. It seems the main metric to be scouted by promoters is SoMe followers and Spotify listens.
It'd be interesting to see in the platform, small venues or small operation booker's, who focus on new music, or who want to work with bands that have just started trying to get out there.
First of all i had very good image of gigmit before till i join and getting the premium package. Festivals are not updated, platform is not that active and there are seems like no real offers on the page.
Just avoid them - they do absolutely nothing and take your money. It is not made clear when you sign up to Pro Gigmit that they will take a monthly cost 22 and do nothing! They are asking for money from me and I think they are just a SCAM - avoid! Another net business making money from the ether airwaves.
Professional Scammers, they will take your money in a legal way, you subscribe and when you try to do it on the website you are will not be able to make it, you send an email to support and by the time you get a reply you have been already charged 80£. These people belong to the sewers, the biggest rats in the industry, AVOID!
I am using gigmit as an artist for a while and they do a lot from content to gigs. I like the design of the artist page and you find a lot of opportunities. Can really recommend that to every artist who wants to play live gigs.
I have been attempting to use Gigmit now on their paid plan for 18 months and I have gained zero gigs and professional opportunities from this platform.
As a full time musician, I emailed them a few months ago as I have had hardly any opportunity to work and play shows due to covid.
I have been struggling to make ends meet as a result and I asked if my payment plan could either be cancelled (as I am unable to fly from Australia where I live to Europe, which is where most of their gig options come from!), OR postponed until the world opens up again and music is able to be performed around the world freely.
Both of these requests were denied so now I'm stuck paying a monthly fee for a platform that has NEVER delivered on the service that it promised me.
I would definitely NOT recommend Gigmit to anyone based on the customer service I received, and the service they provide as a platform.
Highly dissatisfied and would like my money back! Not worth it.
Hey Leni, It is very unfortunate that you have had a bad experience.
However, thousands of artists get gigs every year on gigmit. With a PRO account, your chances are higher of course. What you need to get booked is a complete profile and you need to apply as much as possible and make use of your account. In addition PRO offers access to tons of festivals and venues directly. We created a system and profile that offers a maximum of access and professional appearance for artists. We can not be responsible for profile activity, musical content and business success. There are just too many market influences. But hey, why not staying with gigmit and use it for free. There is no problem with that.
You are right, we are offering a PRO account which is an annual contract, but to be paid monthly. We do so to safe musicians budgets! Please find all information about PRO here: https://www.gigmit.com/en/gigmit-pro
If you have any more specific problems, please reach out to support@gigmit.com - We answer all our requests from a team of music lovers who highly value every issue that a musician has and addresses.
They trick you for a free account but with credit card info. Then let you try for free but sign you up for a year. No way to cancel. #gigmit #scam #hoax
I subscribed for price of 0 euros. I noticed they had taken money from my account. I asked them to cancel the service. They wouldnt and sent me threat warning they could now charge 40 extra fee.
After filing a complaint to ECC they finally cancelled the subscription.
This is a waste of money. Too much people applying for the same gig, you can't get through and even worse, you're stuck with a one year membership. You can't cancel before the year is over. This is just maffia ways of working, totally not consumer friendly. Gigmit is the ONLY one benefitting, as everyone else is just losing money.
The only thing they seem to be interested in is getting you to sign up for the pro version.
I might not have been scammed by them so far, but I have definitely been spammed. Several mails a week about gigs or promotions or what not. Whenever you go to the gig, they press you to go pro at every turn. It's very pushy and they offer nothing up front the way a reputable company does.
Please no one use this company. They will demand payment when they clearly have no shows for anywhere in England. This company is a joke and a bunch of con artists. There are so many other booking agencies you can use. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE
We just pay, nothing we got. No matter how many application we send, never get an answer, never get a chance to have a gig. It's really unfair that we pay the pro account and we got nothing. However, we can not delete the account and just, pay, pay, pay for nothing. We were asked other bands and they had the same experience - none of them had a gig with gigmit, just pay for nothing.
I tried to use there services but I was met with paywalls that had no garenteed outcomes. Dishonest marketing lead me to the site, I deleted my account and still get daily emails telling me we have gig offers. Disguesting marketing.
Answer: Just did a research, Simon and found actually many paid gigs. Probably depends in which country you are.
Answer: I am disgusted by this feedback here. I am the CEO of gigmit, a company in business for 9 years 100% compliant with all legal aspects and fully transparent on its business model. Gigmit is a freemium service and you can use a lot of its features for free. There is a team of 10 people supporting artists on a daily basis to get more shows. Not just PRO users, also free users. We offer our service for all. My team is 100% committed, musicians and promoters themselves. They do it to support art and artists. Our PRO service is an annual contract paid monthly. Why? A) Booking takes time and does not work within a month. B) Musicians do not have much money which is why it is to be paid monthly. Luckily the feedback here of 17 people represents 0.01% of our community. By the way, our support staff works weekdays and our average response time is less than a day. I do not know where this fairytale of no support is coming from.
gigmit has a rating of 1.8 stars from 131 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. gigmit ranks 894th among Music sites.
Thank you for your valuable feedback.
