Got no benefit from signing up which wasn't easy in itself. On top of that, got a threatening email for not being active enough on the platform – I really think it was a mistake signing up.
I am using the product on my phone and really like the festival and venue database. I found thousands of venues and don't have to research them by hand.
Totally agree with this first review. Just a waste of time. I was on a month free pro trial and cancelled it on time and still was charged some money afterwards.
Gig it is definitely a scam and you should not waste your time. It is entirely too expensive. If you are an American artist, do not waste your time.
This company appears to be scamming dozens of people, locking them into long-term contracts they can't escape, in order to build up a large subscriber base that is attractive to prospective investors. Their misleading small print and partnership with prominent UK festivals resulted in many of my colleagues getting hooked into 200+ Euro year's contracts over the last couple of years. As with all these entrepreneurial grifter projects, their ratings and socials seem to be heavily propped up by bots, presumably also to dupe naive investors and partners.
The Gigmit service itself is utterly useless to England-based musicians in almost all fields, and is frankly not fit for purpose in terms of its UX and content, but they notoriously refuse to terminate contracts on the grounds of either provable customer dissatisfaction or provable accusations of malpractice: they seemingly just don't care either way. Not only must they be made to pay for their disgraceful, predatory business conduct, but the UK festivals who have partnered with them and gotten so many musicians suckered into this mess in the first place must also be held accountable for their utter lack of foresight. Avoid like the plague.
Worst money sucker and most unnecessary company in music business of all time. Better avoid! Be aware that they try to delete all the bad reviews on Google and Trustpilot, they do not like critisism.
These are the reasons for the 1*:
Firstly they try to lure in young talents with lots of promises. The young ones should rather map their own scene for opportunities, bigger acts simply do not need Gigmit. We tried to use this for two years, but nothing happened, payed for nothing. Zero gigs were booked. Nothing is worthless than this site.
Secondly be aware that in their terms and conditions it is declared that only a yearly subscirbe is available and you have only 2 weeks to cancel before the next term. If you do not cancel in time they will try to leech your money anyway. If you tell them to cancel at first they will ignore, than if you do not pay because you do not use their "service", the CEO personally threatens you with lawsiut and mortage or lien - see photo. Has anybody seen eg. Netflix or Google menacing people? Ridiculous.
Gigmit is the most unnecessary company in the music industry, their business modell is based on ripping off working musicians and artist. Avoid them.
I have subscribed to PRO to see all the opportunities that Gigmit offered in their marketing e-mails and promotions. Unfortunatelly at the time there was no option subscribe only for a short term, so I went with the yearly subscribtion. For a year we tried to book ourself via Gigmit, but nothing happened. We sent an application, we got the e-mail that the application was read, and than that our application was turned down.
After a while I wanted to end the subscription, I wrote e-mails and stopped paying, but nothing happened, they sent invoices after all. After a few e-mails the CEO answered, that I owe them money, and he threatened me with lawsuit and to put mortage on my property, which is ridiculous. After all I paid them to get rid of Mr. Marcus Fitzgerald and his stupid and unnecessary team.
In conclusion Gigmit is a cloud of farts, it will not help you get booked, only they suck off your money, and its hard to get rid of them.
Gigmit is getting bigger and bigger. At first I was skeptical but after I learmning to know somebody I still work with through Gigmit I changed my mind. It is helpful
Hi Cosmin, and thanks for your review. The Stage is Yours!
Disgusting.
I've cancelled my subs. On time, but charged for the whole year. Creditreform, etc.etc.
$#*!ty company, scammer fags.
I was thinking of suing them.
HATE!
! We cannot find any user information to the contact provided from this review and want to address that this review doesn't contain correct information!
We want to reply regardless. Gigmit is a free platform and offers a PRO service. If you feel there is no matching gigs, festivals or venue contacts available why upgrading for PRO? The only reason we could find would be the FREE distribution of your music through our partner for all PRO artists.
However, here is a different problem addressed. We want to clarify that gigmit PRO is an annual contract, to be paid in monthly instalments. This is very musician and budget friendly. If you cancel let's say for example after 2 months. The contract ends at the first contractual year. Till then, you have to pay the instalments but can make advantage of the remaining contractual months.
In case you just want to try PRO and are not sure about it, we offer a 100%-FREE trial for the first 30 days. If you booked that trial and cancel within that period (30 days), you wont be charged at all and you are 100% out of the PRO. The best is: You can continue using gigmit as a free user. There is no risk on your end.
One thing is for sure: If you cancel, you are 100% canceled at the end of the contractual period and there is no such things like continuously charging after that at gigmit.
My hope was to get connection to a lot ofvenues and festivals for gigs. Since Septemer there were only a few which made sense to aply for.
Gigmit and their associates at PAIR finance are a subscription trap who will take your money and then threaten you with emails and letters
There are no gigs at all it's all false
I have been a nightclub DJ for many years. Now I want to giro the next level. Would love to get into festivals.
Hi Mark, thanks a lot for your review! It's so important to share your opinion and feedback. You make our whole community work, and we share the same values towards an open world where booking is a simple thing. The Stage is Yours!
Access to gigs should be commission based rather than membership based - you're always asking for money.
I've been a pro user for 4 years I guess, they have a good database of venues. I didn't have too many gigs from them but I keep the faith.
Gigmit has been really good way to get new contacts and apply for gigs. Venue base is huge and the page is very easy to use.
Gigmit is the best platform to support the career development of DJs and live acts across all genres and countries
Whether you are dissatisfied or not. Gigmit won't mind charging you for the full year, without the possibility of cancellations never mind a refund
They simply don't provide what they promise and steal money from artists locking them into illegal and fraudulent contracts.
I used gigmit as a pro member over 1 year and didn´t get any reaction, so you as a client you could think about a scam.
This company should be sued for every penny they've ever made of people. Disgusting company and people.
It has been good to get to contact venues and calls, but it seems that not much come back from the venues you contact.
Answer: Just did a research, Simon and found actually many paid gigs. Probably depends in which country you are.
Answer: I am disgusted by this feedback here. I am the CEO of gigmit, a company in business for 9 years 100% compliant with all legal aspects and fully transparent on its business model. Gigmit is a freemium service and you can use a lot of its features for free. There is a team of 10 people supporting artists on a daily basis to get more shows. Not just PRO users, also free users. We offer our service for all. My team is 100% committed, musicians and promoters themselves. They do it to support art and artists. Our PRO service is an annual contract paid monthly. Why? A) Booking takes time and does not work within a month. B) Musicians do not have much money which is why it is to be paid monthly. Luckily the feedback here of 17 people represents 0.01% of our community. By the way, our support staff works weekdays and our average response time is less than a day. I do not know where this fairytale of no support is coming from.
gigmit has a rating of 1.8 stars from 131 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. gigmit ranks 894th among Music sites.
Thanks, James! You made our day! Keep up using our contacts!
