They sent the wrong color. I am disabled and it is hard for me to get around. That is why I do my shopping online. Since GH bass sent the wrong color this purchase was a hardship instead of joy.
My mother gave me a pair of Bass Weejuns for Christmas. Unfortunately, the shoes are too small but by the time I realized it, the 30 day return policy had passed. As a result, I am stuck with a $180 leather doorstops.
For a mail order shoe business, with no physical locations, they need a better return policy - especially during the holiday season. It is much easier to return items on Amazon!
I love Bass Weejuns and have always worn them, but no more after this.
I've yet to receive an order I placed on 8/13/24 and called 5 times to inquire about it. Each time I was told something completely different and that I would receive an email. Didn't happen so I had to reach out yet again. Finally, after requesting a supervisor, Tammy called back to inform me that she hadn't read the notes about my 5 calls and had processed a refund, which I have yet to receive.
Purchased 3 pair shoes using the Bass size guide. Stylish and seem well-crafted. 2 pair don't fit and cannot be returned due to merchant policy. Disappointed about poor customer service!
I was naive to think that ordering expensive shoes from a reputable company would be an easy task. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Not only is the customer service and "live chat" a dead end, trying to get information corrected on an order is beyond frustrating. Thank goodness the order # is sent via email because the site itself showed no record of the purchase. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes and received only 1 pair. These run an entire size larger than the 1/2 size larger in the reviews I did read. To exchange for the correct size - I have to return, be charged $6 and re-order...and that's AFTER I get the order to reflect the purchase of 2 pairs of shoes rather than just the 1 pair. And YES, I was charged for both pairs on my credit card. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER buy another overpriced pair of shoes from this company again!
I want to express my disappointment with their return policy, which has unfortunately marred my perception of G.H.Bass as a whole.
Understanding the bustling nature of the holiday season (I got a pair for Christmas), it is not unreasonable for customers to expect extended return periods to accommodate the unique circumstances that arise during this time. Regrettably, my attempt to return a pair of shoes, which were NOT worn except for trying them on once, has been declined. It's worth noting that my return request was accompanied by photographs to evidence their pristine condition.
Customer service took a couple of weeks to review my request to in the end say that it was way out of return policy window.
It is unfortunate that such an experience has led me to decide against being a return customer.
I purchased a pair of Weejun's with interwoven leather on the outside about nine months ago. A Leather Strip begin coming off of the top, and the side begin developing a rip. I after contacting them and providing them with the required documentation and pictures, I had to request a status since they never responded.
After I probed them, they finally claimed it was a wear issue and not a quality issue.
I have purchased shoes from them in the past, but after this response, I will go elsewhere in the future, and not recommend this company to anyone.
G.H. Bass might make a decent shoe, they just don't know how to get product to the consumer. 4 times sent the wrong pair of shoes, management in non existent, does not follow up, like customer service says, maybe that's why they are closing brick & mortar stores. Unfortunately they won't last long just doing online orders. Definitely doesn't deserve 1 star.

Purchased a pair of boots and the soles came off first day;took weeks for a replacement after numerous emails;finally replacementwas wrong color.still waiting for a reply to recieve the correct color boots.numerous emails and no reply(crickets chirping)
I was willing to pay the price for quality. But i will not continue to o so. They increased the price too much. An increase of over 20%. This is outrages.
G. H Bass you lost a great customer, tooooo sad...!
Bought a pair of GH Bass men's sneakers from Marshall's. I realize they are a discount store, but was hoping the shoes would last for my son for few weeks. Within 7 days the toe was ripping and the sole was peeling off. Marshall's refused a refund or even store credit since the shoes were too worn and "we are a discount store".
I got a pair of G. H sneakers on sale from Marshalls and I thought I got lucky because they seemed super comfortable and they were $20 butt … NOPE! Try again. Within the first 2 weeks, parts of the bottom of the shoe were peeling off like a sticker. A STICKERRRRR! -_-
How does the BOTTOM of a SNEAKER, peel off like a STICKER?!
I'm still baffled.
It's evident that their shoes are made with the lowest quality of materials.
Do not waste your money or time.
Even if it was $5, it's still not worth it.
I was very impressed with quality of G. H. Bass Chelsea boot for first few months but it turned to total disappointment.
Pros:
I liked G. H. Bass design over other manufacturers
The workmanship and leather upper part appeared to be very good quality
Cons:
The boot sole with heel is one piece. It is made from soft material that wear rather quickly. The sole material is made from two contrast color layers. The first black layer wears off within few walks so you are flashing white worn heals from behind. The white layer of heal material wears soon after. The heel part of sole is hollow. The heels are not repairable nor replaceable, so your boots are ready for garbage within one season. My conclusion is - never again anything by G. H. Boss.
Do NOT order from this company. They are based in Mexico and will steal you blind. Run! I ordered a pair of shoes in my normal size, received them and they were freakishly ill fitting and tight, returned them with prepaid shipping label the very next day in the original box... never got a refund after months of follow up, emails, phone calls, complaints and legal forms filed.
The same time I had ordered the first shoes, I place an order for shoes that were on backorder. They charged me for them but never sent the shoes. It's been months... I tried to cancel the order after the first month and they just never got around to it.
I've exhausted any idea to get my money back. I'm out for two pair of shoes, about $120. Thanks Bass!
I paid for two (2) pair of shoes with EXPEDITED shipping ($35 dollars extra) because I am on Canada and wanted them delivered within a reasonable time frame. Received and email letting me know the order had been processed.
Days went by and nothing.
Called Customer Service... had no reason as to why the order was not processed as there was inventory in stock. I told them I paid for faster shipping and that really didn't phase them. Standard answer was "wait 24 -48 hours and you will receive an email with updates".
Well fast forward 3 weeks and 4 calls later... same response. I told them I wanted the order cancelled and a refund. They told me it shows they NEVER charged me! I can see the charge on my AMEX! Then admitted International orders are in fact charged.
Still waiting on refund as I write this. Run as far as you can from these guys@!
Terrible service. I don't know how they're still in business. I bought a pair of shoes and have not received an email at all for a week... not even a confirmation. I have emailed customer service 3 times without reply. Seems like they just take your money and run.
Placed an order for some loafers as a gift, gave it 10 days in advance its now 14 days and still nothing received. Website states 3-5 days to my location, so this is not acceptable.
When emailing customer service, got a lacklustre and unhelpful "ill look into it" response.
Would never order here again. In fact only did as a gift request, but still not worth it.
Terrible.
Ordered a pair of loafers from their website. There was no indication when I ordered that they were not in stock; if there had been, I wouldn't have ordered them. Paid (a LOT!) extra for overnight shipping because I needed them for an event that was happening soon. I heard nothing from them for two weeks, at which time I got an e-mail saying the shoes were on backorder with no known ship date. I called the number they provided to cancel my order because I'd never get them in time and I got a girl (I swear she sounded about 12) who was clearly working from home. Dogs barking, little kids screaming, all kinds of noise in the background. In addition to that, she had no idea what she was doing. She asked me which order I wanted to cancel (I have made ONE order from G. H. Bass in my entire life), which made me wonder if she had pulled up the correct profile. She kept asking ME what to do (so I fill out this escalation form, right? So then I send you a confirmation e-mail, right?), so I figured there was a snowball's chance in hell that the order would actually be cancelled and I'd actually get my money back. It was so unprofessional! I've no doubt that I'll be on the phone to my bank doing a chargeback in a few days because this little girl gave me no confidence that she had done what I asked her to do. G. H. Bass: I won't be ordering anything from you ever again.
Ordered two pair of Wejun loafers. Their suite stated in stock and available. I paid an additional fee first quranteed teovday delivery. Three days after I ordered the shoes Ivrecieved an email stating shoes were on back order and time expect delivery three to four weeks out. Inquired and received an email back stating that one pair was no longer available and that the 2nd pair would be further delayed. Thatvsamebday I received an additional email stating that the same shoes were now on sale and available. I did a bit of investigating and found that most if not all of their Factory Outlet stores are closed and on line ordering is only option. I truly believe that they are going out of business and hanging on by a thread. It is a shame, at one point in their history they made a fine pair of shoes and had decent customer service. This no longest exists, stay away, it is almostvas though they ate scamming the consumer.
Answer: Just like many companies. It can be a little tiring. It takes about 20 to 25 minutes
Answer: Legit. They have stores all over and have a website.
