I ordered Flax Seal flood protection spray which has a supposed shelf life of 24 months. When I received the spray on October 17th 2024, the date at the bottom of the can read 11/22/24. I called their 800# and told them I did not want an old spray that was less than 2 weeks from expiring. They told me it was some other number, not the manufacturing date. It was clearly a date. I'm returning the product but am out of shipping and return shipping which they would not cover. Company is not trustworthy and has horrible customer service. They also told me that their starter kit would peel off in 1 piece. We used it on our glass sliding door during a hurricane and it does anything BUT come off in 1 piece. We had a very difficult time getting it off in tiny pieces only. Took us weeks to get it off. Would give 0 stars if I could.
I have been using Flex Seal liquid for a long time and love it. Yesterday I purchased the paste and did not like it at all. When I opened the 3 lb container there was a thick hard layer on top. When I dug this hard layer out, I lost almost a third of the product. Luckily I had enough to finish my project. But this was a waste of money to me. You need to find a better way to package this product or discontinue it. I will not buy it again.
I try to use this product 2 different times with no luck. I find it very hard to believe you can use this under water I couldn't use it on a small leak. I try to use it 2 different time a small leak around a window and to seal around a a/c unit in the wall. Safe your money and just do it right the first time. I wished this product worked but it did not.
I would have been better off using Elmers glue. This product is useless. Very runny when you spray and does not secure a leak. I have used the paste in the past and it does not perform or spread as show on TV.
Have simple drip, drip leak on outside pipe coupling for sprinkler system. Drips about a gallon a day so not a serious leak. As shown on TV my backside. Turned water off and sprayed coupling. Waited until next day and did again. The next day turned water back on and within 30 seconds drip, drip, drip. Chewing gum would work better.
On the positive side only threw away about 8 bucks for small can.
DO NOT BUY IS MY RECOMMENDATION.
Not only is this product overpriced, it's totally worthless. After a year, it cracks and leaks. Tried Flex Seal liquid on a roof seam two years in a row, and got the same horrible results. Don't waste your money!
Purchased the tape that is advertised to work underwater. Tried to patch a small leak on the outside of a 40 gallon plastic tank and it would not seal the leak. Used an 8 foot roll trying to make it work. Don't waste your money.
I have a motor home and was interested in using in case of leaks. I ordered a can from Amazon and left in the RV. 3 months later I found the can leaked at the bottom. I was not sure if other cans might have put pressure on the Flex Seal can so I threw it out. I reorder another can carefully checking the date but this time I wappedin rag even a box. The same thing happened. I have photos
Calling the company they did not offer to even replace the can even saying I have photos. They wanted me to send the can back on my own dime and they the would investigate. I said how about paying postage and replacing they said maybe after evaluation.
I have used dozens of products in my RV over the years and never had a failure.
Not sure if it is a good product but customer service sucks and will never by again.
I could not return to Amazon because it was over 30 days
I used Flex Seal Liquid over waterproofing cement, 3 coats over two days, min 8 hours between coats, allowed to cure for one week to waterproof my small pond. About two months later, I drained the pond to repair the pump to find that the Flex Seal had failed. It had blistered and was peeling. Seems unsuitable for waterproofing application when submerged under water. Advertising led me to believe otherwise.
Opened the container to find a hardened ring of product. Contacted customer service to be told that they overfill the container so there is expected to be some hardening, was told to send a picture and if they thought it was excessive they would address it. Didn't get a response so I guess this is to be expected when buying Flex Seal Paste.
I went to Lowe's for a 3 pound container of Flex Seal! Upon opening, I got one pound of Flex Seal! The other 2 pounds was cured rubber! Lowes refunded me the $34.98! I received a store credit and got another 3 pound container! Went home and I got 2 pounds of the product! Screw it! The Flex Seal spray cans are better for small jobs!
Excellent product... I live in Florida where it rains slot. I have been living in a camper since my home was destroyed by a Cat 5 Hurricane... The roof of the camper leaked when it rained. I was in Dollar General and spotted a can of Mr. Swift's flex seal and thought why not... I sprayed the entire top of the camper with it and waited for the next storm...When it it hit, it was ferocious! But not a single leak in my little camper... EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
I bought Flex Tape because I have water in my basement.
I found the container hard to open and when it did open the tape stuck to my hand and itself. It is difficult to work with.
What a waste of money.
I had a plastic fountain that eventually developed a slight leak.
I followed the directions and used the product as described.
Still had the leak.
Did it again, Still had the leak.
So, for me, it was a Dud
Could not seal my 8" pvc irrigation pipe this morning. Tried 3 times, scuffed up the pipe as well and it does not stick under water OR UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE'S as shown in the commercials. The pipe is not fixed and is still leaking. Good thing it was purchased at Walmart as they do take everything back and I will be returning this bogus product today. My duck tape works just fine under an emergency. Do not waste your money.
I bought clear flex seal tape at Dollar General for $15.99 put it on seam it wouldn't seal even cleaned area before applying this is a POS product don't waste your money by a lying company and there computer generated reviews Flex Seal Tape Sucks and doesn't stick a waste of hard earned money ml
Bought Flex Seal Clear to stop gutters from leaking in joint area & for pool pump crack. It did not work for either. Rain & pool water came thru like I never used anything. Waste of money, I'll never buy again.
Wasted my hard earned money on a product that would take gallons and gallons and gallons in spray form to do a very small amount this product didn't even fill 3/16 inch holes. Don't waste your time and money folks! Great sales pitch for us suckers used a $15 can on this small project and multiple coats with proper time to dry so I don't wanna hear it! Congratulations on yet taking someone else's money with a misleading sales pitch.
I purchased the Flex Seal White Paste, to fix a rather small leak in the upper part of my 35"X 45" window. After I opened the container, I noticed most of the paste had ALREADY HARDENED INSIDE THE CONTAINER. What was still soft inside the container was very rubbery and quite difficult to "spread evenly" as per the instructions. The result was just a mess. NOTHING LIKE THE ADS FOR THIS STUFF ON TV! These folks outta be sued for false advertising...
I replaced the expansion tank on the water heater in my home and also replaced the steel pipes. One. Connection required an elbow that refused to seal using teflon tape. I didn't want to have to remove the entire pipe connection as the leak was a simple drip of about one drip every. Five seconds. I decided to give Flex Seal a try. I turned off the water pressure, dried the pipe, applied a layer of Flex Seal, waited two hours for it to dry and turned on the water pressure. Flex Seal failed. No improvement at all. I repeated the process two more times and got the same failed results. I was deeply disappointed. I ended up having to remove the entire pipe, replaced the leaky elbow, and it sealed up on its own with no Flex Seal. I contacted Flex Seal support for advice and they responded by saying, "Return it to the store for a refund." No apology, discount, credit, exchange, nothing! I will never buy this expensive and overrated product again.
Answer: I would highly recommend NOT using anywhere around moisture. I experienced mildew growing on product.
Answer: No. Recommend you use eternabond sealant and then eternabond tape and skip this garbage.
