Overall since a been with them for a year in a half I have enjoyed the games I've played and sent back but only downside is when you buy them and the disc gets busted they won't take it back even if you explain the situation to them plus if they ask for your games back to see if they can fit it be ready not to get a case back but just a broken game disc.
For $60 bucks you can buy a single new game OR you can join this site for 6 months and play as many games as you want in that time period. Best investment I made. I sold my existing games and signed up for this site and everyone in my house is happy.
It is definitely the best website to rent games online and pay secondhand games for less than what you find at Gamestop. Rent a game you want, and if you like it, you can keep it for a price listed. They'll send you a cover case that will be coming from the mail. If not, send it back. The little gripe though is the plans are pricy unless you got enough cash left from your checking account, pick the plan you really want. If it's too much for you, downgrade the plan at anytime. It's worth using if you're a gamer. Nothing can beat Gamefly for renting games, period.
It is unquestionably worth the cost. You create a gift list of games you like, and if they're available, they try to give you the ones at the top of your list.
I used to be part of the hollywood video power play system to rent my games locally until they jacked up their prices. I found gamefly to be cheaper and they have a wider variety of games. The game you want is almost always in stock. The price to sign up is cheap too. If you sign up for a couple months and then try to quit, they will 1 month later send you an email with an even lower price per month. I quit because I am poor but then they sent me an email with a ridiculously low price that I couldn't refuse. If you want a deal, sign up for a month and then quit... then sign up again :)
Hello, I would like to thank you for this service. I managed to play the game I used to play when I was younger. If to be more specific it was a Mafia game.
Gamefly is a video game renting service similar to Netflix--you pay a flat monthly fee and Gamefly sends you video games to try out and play at home. The Gamefly website has a "game queue," which is basically a wishlist of games you'd like to rent, and new titles are shipped to you from your game queue in order of priority and availability.
Large selection of video games for different gaming platforms. They work every day, seven days a week. Competent consultants. There is an order through the website and delivery.
Don't like the whole deal. Too much time to wait for games, some games come scratched and customer service is always overly automated to push you toward website FAQ... "MEH!" is a great word for the service. Service canceled!
Great way to have unlimited games on your PS3, XBOX 360 or Wii - I got a subscription to this service about a year ago and it has been a great way to keep playing new games without having to buy them. For the price of a couple games, you basically get unlimited about of rentals for a year. It works just like netflix. And, if you just keep the game for more than a month, they will offer you a super cheap price to just keep it. If you stay with them longer than 6 months, they give you a 5% discount on all the games you want to keep and buy.
Greatest invention ever. Renting games for whatever amount of time you want? Yes please, sign me up! I don't have hours to sit down and play so not being on a time constraint is really awesome.
Gamefly is not a bad deal, but there are better options out there. The biggest draw back in my opinion isn't even that you rarely get newly released titles. I can deal with playing older games.
The biggest problem I have is waiting for games to arrive. Snail mail sucks and I would much prefer a service where I can download or stream the games. Or even if I could just go to a kiosk like Redbox to exchange the game for a new one.
They only have 2 shipping warehouses, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles. They used to have Tampa and Austin, but those are shut down. I live in Cincinnati so games would arrive 2 days after they shipped from Pittsburgh, but sometimes they shipped from Los Angeles, which took 5 to 7 days. Add 1 day to this for the time it takes for USPS to scan the game in, which alerts Gamefly that I have returned the game.
The only people I suggest Gamefly for are new Nintendo Switch owners who want to play the backlog of first party Nintendo games like Breathe of the Wild and Mario Odyssey. This is because these games rarely ever go on sale and since they are older you will actually be sent them from Gamefly. Older games on other consoles can be found on sale or even on Sony's Playstation Now or Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass gaming subscriptions, which are cheaper.
A smaller problem I had was that you could not have separate queues if you had the 2 or more games out at a time subscriptions. This means they will pull all games from one queue, but maybe you want to get a kids game for your kid and a more mature game for you. It is not possible to ensure this will happen.
Game selection is great and shipping time is very fast. It is even cheaper if you cancel and wait for them to give you a better deal. Learn how to copy your games for an infinite library.
USE THIS LINK FOR 3 MONTHS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE MONTH! I recently got a game from them. The best thing is that they provide free trial. So i did not worry about my money. Customer services are just great.
Its pretty cool when i control it at the first time, but price is kinda high for me, well, worth it.
I love this site, this has saved me $100s if not thousands of dollars from doing traditional purchases of videos games for my son!
They won't show u the cheaper plans once u start your membership. No way to get to the plans they tempted you with. Games slow to arrive too.
