We have bought 3 Fitbit versa 2 in our family in the last year and a half and at the time of writing this review none of them is working. One was replaced free of cost but the new one had its screen come off after two months and it was out of warranty.

The glass screen comes off on its own without any jerks or touching, probably a problem with the glue used to stick it. If the glass doesn't come off then watch will just stop working one day with screen going black and it will stop syncing. None of the three watches lasted for more than 14 months.

I would not recommend buying Fitbit versa models as Ive seen others complain about the glass coming off too. This is something to do with the manufacturing. Either discontinue the product or find a better glue may be?

All in all, waste of money.

Fitbit disabled my perfectly working ionic and i was told i will be receiving a coupon code, but after 20 calls and 10 emails no one seems to be able to figure out why i still have not received my code towards another fitbit, all they say is i will be receiving an email. I got nothing. Poor customer service.

Purchased a Fitbit Versa 3 4-6 months ago. Still under warranty. Never had a issue with the watch before. Went for swim in the lake and realized the watch is no longer on my wrist. Says it's waterproof etc. Dove down many times and it was gone. Called Fitbit since it's still under warranty and they refused to send out a replacement as they considered this Lost so not covered. After writing back multiple times still nothing from them. Then one email they sent says they have to record from me stating the band is defective. I write back saying I've never had an issue before this incident. Clearly the band is defective as my watch now is at the bottom of the lake. This makes no sense and still nothing is being done. Buyer beware of Fitbit warranty. Truly dissatisfying as Im a loyal customer who has purchased many products from Fitbit for family members. Shame on you Fitbit.

I had a Charge for about 6 months and the battery would no longer recharge. Fitbit graciously replaced it with an Alta. Unfortunately, the band on the Alta cannot be closed unless you have another person do it for you. I reported this to Fitbit and they graciously sent me a replacement wristband, which they said would have a different clasp. It arrived and it had exactly the same ridiculous design as the first one. I offered to pay the $20 difference in the retail price for the Alta and Charge2 and that was not in "accordance" with their policies. The only remedy I was offered was a 6 month free use of an online app or 25% off alternative Fitbit, which essentially means they want $90 from me to get a Charge2 to replace my defective Charge. Terrible customer service! No wonder the company is struggling!

Throwing away money
April 1, 2021

While I like the Fibit functionality the waistband is a major issue. While swimming it broke off the coast in Fort Lauderdale. How could a product designed for exercising have such a poorly design waistband. Don't count on any help from customer support. Save you hard earned money

No Such Thing as Repair
September 24, 2020

My Alta HR broke and couldn't stay powered on past a few minutes. This happened a few months after the warranty ended last year, and after a few days emailing with Fitbit support this is what they replied to me with, and I quote, "Since we went to the troubleshooting without success and we don't have any repair facilities authorized by Fitbit there is no other resolution we can provide." No discount was offered either. In short Fitbit is selling substandard products that they will not repair, so you will have no choice but to buy a new one or upgrade to the next version eventually. It's a well thought-out scam. I went with the Apple Watch after that and I've never been happier.

On and on.
February 24, 2021

I have purchased fitbit watches and scales to aid me in my weight loss journey. The scales have been by far the hardest to work with. Aria has wifi err and step on and off err. The tech line had me waiting over an hour, and the warranty line ignored me after I told him that it was a new aria2 scale. That call was 35min! I could hear him clearing his throat occasionally and shifting around. Not even placed on hold. The worst customer service. Hopefully I can return it to the store since the company is garbage.

Fitbit has time and again given me the run around and the back and forth tango regarding honoring the so-called integrity of their products and to make matters worse their customer service representatives are nothing more than programmed drones who lack the wherewithal or human intellect to take the initiative to actually assist customers in getting timely and effective resolutions! I strongly urge anyone thinking to buy a Fitbit to beware and then shop elsewhere!

I ordered a Fitbit Alta HR on the Fitbit website as a Christmas gift last year in December. The company's warehouse had issues with their ordering system and did not ship my order out by Christmas even though I was told it would arrive by Christmas Eve. I ended up having to go through their customer service multiple times to try and confirm that my order would be shipped at all.

I ended up getting my product in mid-January, an entire month after I had ordered it. I had asked for expedited shipping to at least try and make up for the tardiness... Fitbit did not follow through on that.

To top all of that off, a week after I received my 1st order, I got charged a 2nd time by mistake for the same product and now have to deal with getting a refund for the wrong charge!

Is their Alta HR as advertised? Yes... but was it worth all the hassle I had? NO

Highly recommend you be cautious with buying directly from Fitbit.

I purchased the most expensive product in the line (the Sense) in less than 2 months of use the screen breaks. The device comes with a 1 year warranty. The first guy had no idea how to help me, said someone will email. No one does. Second guy on chat says ok write down the case number and send a pic of the device someone will email you. I get an email saying my warranty has expired! The actual device has barely been released to the public for a year. On chat again. This guy says "oh, no, he meant this isn't eligible under warranty". If you read the legal wording of the warranty it most certainly it. This guy proceeds to get agressive and tries his damnedest to gaslight me. Finally end that. It isn't going anywhere. On chat the next day. Apparently aggressive Eduardo from the day before left a nasty note and now this guy is trying to gaslight me as well. The short of it is I have a broken Fitbit Sense that is less that 2 months old and will never give Fitbit any money again!

Bought this 34 days ago and feel that was enough time for me to give a fair review. It is small so if you need glasses to read, you will for sure need them to read this watch. The time is big and bright enough to see... if you are not in a bright sunny area. Forget about seeing the minutes. The icons are so small you can't see them either... I wanted to return it as I was not pleased with the performance but have a small scratch on mine so they would not take it back…... I have owned watches before and the screen should not scratch that easily. The features of this watch are not clear and there are no directions on how to use the features. Also the steps are not a true representation of your actual steps. If you move you arms even when you sleep you wake with a record of steps you have taken... how is that possible. I would not recommend this product...

This product is horrible. It doesn't even function properly as a fitness tracker. It can't track time, distance, heart rate accurately. It can't even do simple math correctly. They remove features from the app/watch. If you post on their forums with problems with their products they will immediately delete it for 'negativity' Its really a cheap, horrible watch. The app was programmed by dyslexic blind children. And the company is masquerading as a fitness company, when in fact all they are interested in, is harvesting user biometric data. AVOID ANYTHING FITBIT!

I have had numerous fitbits in the past 5 years or so and not one of them lasted much longer than a year. I bought one for my husband and one for me and in under a year we both had to get a replacement. Within a couple months of receiving his replacement, that one stopped working. Since now it was past his warranty they refused to replace it again. Now, he doesn't want to get another one because they don't last long and have problems. My replacement lasted longer but after 6 months it officially died as well. We will be looking at other fitness trackers that accomplish the same thing. Hopefully they last longer than a year but if not, I won't be out hundreds of dollars.

Oh I definitely have a question, Why doesn't the replacement fitbit that was sent to me have a full 1 year warranty? Did I receive a refurbished one? My first fitbit lasted only a few months and the store where I bought it took it back and sold me a new Charge HR. That lasted 10 months so I called fitbit and they replaced it, my replacement lasted 5 months and is dead. Fitbit said it only has a warranty for 2 months - the remaining warranty time from the one that they replaced. Oh wait it gets better, I can have 25% off a new one! I find these expensive items to be a waste of money. I paid $159.00 for something that worked 15 months. I am looking for any assistance in getting a replacement at no cost. The fitbit that was replaced should carry the 12 month warranty

Two years ago I was laid up with my back, in a wheelchair at 54 years old and unable to walk for close to three months due to a back issue. When I was finally able to walk again, my friend bought me a Fitbit to help me gauge my activity. It had been wonderful to help me get back on track, be more active and set goals for myself. Within the last few months I've noted that my Fitbit is beginning to fall apart. I wrote to Fitbit and they are offering me 25% off a new one because it's only warrantied for one year. Lesson learned, buy it from Costco or Bed Bath and Beyond. Fitbit will not stand behind their product after one year, but these stores that carry Fitbit will. I'm happy with my Fitbit, but I am very disappointed with the response from the company. This isn't a way build relations!

The charging mechanism for this watch was useless from the start! Intermittent working, and then finally stopped charging the watch. The support in Central America expected me to trouble shoot the actual watch! They wasted my time and then said I could buy a new charger, from an authorized dealer and send them the receipt. This watch is a waste of money and is not supported by the company. I will not buy a fitbit again.

Purchase the Fitbit charge 3 special edition a little over a year ago and after only wearing the black wristband for 6 months noticed it starting to break. Called and to see if I could get a replacement, after was told that it was over the warinty he hung up. He didn't even bothered to ask me if I had any other questions. If this is what you claim great customer service is then I would hate to see your idea of terrible service.

Trash watches
May 1, 2022

I only wore my fit bit now and then, which may account why I am not in better shape. That being said, there is no excuse for a fitbit worn maybe 30-45 days should die on the charger. I get it, the warranty is one year and the fit bit is 18 months. But it is obviously almost brand new. I am disappointed. I had an apple watch and found it too annoying, and promoted Fitbits to everyone. Now, not so sure. My apple watch is 5 years old and still kicking. Maybe I just invest in another apple watch. Not so expensive vs. 5 fitbits.

We all know fitbit products at one time or another have sub par performance. To those of you who are not statisfied with the product, but a different brand. I will probably not buy another one. But when I phoned fitbit and explained that my fitbit was not working properly and that I bought it almost a year ago & I told them I didn't have a receipt, they said no problem. I shipped it back and they repaired it and shipped at no charge in a timely manner. That's very good service. If the product performed as well as their service, I would definitely purchase another. I am on the fence right now.

Faulty devices
June 7, 2023

I have a fitbit I bought 2 years ago - it stopped working within an year and got warranty replacement. The replacement also stopped working within less than a year and now they wouldn't give me replacement cause it's not under warranty.

Absolutely looting customers by designing devices that are meant to work only for an year so that they can make the customers buy them again. WILL NEVER EVER buy one again nor ever gift it to anyone. I don't understand how they will sustain in the business for too long with such cheap tactics.
