In less than a year I have had my fitbit replaced 5 times. They wouldn't ever give me my money back. Mine would work for about 2 to 3 months and then stop working. Not worth the price!

Worst customer support
April 16, 2023

I've been a loyal customer of Fitbit over years, also sent them as gifts to my family and friends. If someone would told me Garmin/other brand is better, I'd defend Fitbit because I loved the mobile app and how it presented sleep, activity and other data - so user friendly. A couple of years ago, my device's band broke and they sent me a replacement. I paid back with purchasing Premium membership. That was when Fitbit was independent and tried to keep customer happy.

A couple of weeks ago I started to see another issue with Luxe not syncing part of the data to my iPhone. I attempted to fix it using resources online (re-install app, restart device, etc) - nothing helped. Only then I contacted the customer support and after 3 hours of chatting through online chat, twitter account and over the call, I wasn't able to resolve the issue. All of these reps gave me different reasons for what's causing the issue and steps to address it. I requested to be connected to a supervisor and was told they'd be contacting me within 3 days. It's been almost a week, not word from them. What a waste of time and a disappointing experience.

Order the Fitbit 2 and was told it shipped same day as order. Received text on Monday saying it's on way. On Wednesday received a rest from Fitbit that order will be delivered on Thursday. Thursday came & went no Fitbit heard nothing from company. Researched and found out now shipping to post office few towns away from me and add 3 days. All the Supervisor can say is it's eithin the timeframe if shipping. DON'T ORDER -IF WANT INS GO TO STORE MAY GET BETTER DESK AND BETTER SERVICE THEN FITNIT. TOTALLY DISGUSTED

FitBit/Google has started cleaning house on their forum. Anything that appears to be a complaint about how FitBit/Google has handled the release of the Versa 4 and the Sense 2.

They sold the Versa 4 and the Sense 2 smartwatches as next generation when they were actually lite versions of the prior Versa 3 and Sense 1.

They have ghosted any and all calls to "Do the right thing" and open the SDK development section for developers, they have disabled Google assistant, they have disabled the WiFi capabilities, and disabled almost all the third party apps except for a few basic apps.

There have been calls for class action law suits or just a plan out boycott of everything FitBit or Pixel.

Con Artists
June 9, 2022

My first fitbit (fitbit sense) stopped working one week into use. After spending many hours setting it up and learning how to employ even a fraction of its features (none of which were user friendly) I called the company and asked for a refund. I was denied. I then asked about its accuracy concerning its heartrates features. I was mislead. I was instead sent a replacement, and told I had 45 days from the receipt of the new item to get a refund if I was not satisfied. I did so. Again I was denied. I was told the 45days FROM THE ORIGINAL (BROKEN WATCH) HAD EXPIRED! Now I have no refund, no recourse, and am stuck with a $300 watch, which due to Heart Rate precision accuracies issues, I have no use for. This company cares nothing for its customers or its integrity. Be cautious in dealing with organizations like this. Your money is their only real concern.

After fitbit was sitting for a couple months, I went to recharge it and found that it wasn't working at all. I contacted the company because I hadn't had the fitibit long enough or used it long enough for it to short circuit. Inititaly they said they couldn't help and that fitbits don't last forever. I'm aware of this, but think it should last longer than just 2-3 months of use. They then offered me a discount on my next purchase, but I really am not interested in a device that costs a lot for working a little. When the fitbit worked, it was great.

Recall and discount
May 3, 2022

As most probably know, the ionic watch was recently recalled. However you cannot combine their 40% discount in their own sthey're on store on the mother day discount ultimately leaving you only $20 better off than anyone else who is a first time buyer. They have done absolutely nothing about all of the accessories that I purchased for my ionic, Charger's, wrist band's, screen protectors. On top of those being issues you can only use the 40% discount on a couple of items. Was better off on eBay for smaller cheaper prices than what ionics offering. Not only that you cannot use any of the ionic parts on your new watches they are not compatible. Customer service could care less about meeting a disappointed customer. The only thing that I was going to get with the 40% discount was the scale which is not one of the items that is eligible. I'm done with fitbit. You might as well save your money for something more useful that you can do all kinds of things with like the android or Apple watch. With those you can usually get for free on promotion through your cellphone provider.

DO NOT GET A FITBIT!
October 21, 2019

DO NOT GET A FITBIT! I purchased a fitbit versa for my husband last November. The device stopped working correctly by April. The times is off by 8-10 minutes. I spent 2 months googling and looking for different ways to trouble shoot the device. I finally gave up! I called Fitbit customer service to see if I can get a warranty exchange in Oct before my year is up. They gave me the run around and wanted me to spend MORE TIME on trouble shooting the device before they would consider an exchange.
I have personally had an apple watch for 3 years and I have had 1 issue with the device. I walked into an apple store, they took the device and repaired the item asap and returned the item to me. As SIMPLE AS THAT!

Don't waste your time or money on a Fitbit. It took me five calls, was fed line after line, and final answer was a small discount on a new device (must be used in 30 days).

I got the watch 8/3 brand new. I'm calling it a watch because it tracks nothing. Called customer support 8/16 and have been in touch constantly(14 emails) The store won't take back because it is a fitbit problem, warranty company won't take back because it has been a problem from day one, FITBIT WON'T TAKE BACK EITHER. And HERE is the latest e-mail after stating I should be patient they are working on the problem for me and many others:
We're aware of problem, but may not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future. We'll continue to monitor the situation, and keep our team informed of the impact to you and other customers. DON'T BUY FITBIT! THE COMPANY IS TELLING ME THEY KNOW I HAVE A BROKEN FITBIT AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT. BUT STILL NOT TAKING IT BACK! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TO ME.

Received a Fitbit Blaze as a gift. Screen on tracker cracked randomly. Took forever to try to contact support through twitter as they have no direct email, only to find out they won't replace the tracker. Nor does Fitbit repair cracked screens. What a waste of a $200 gift! POOR PRODUCT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Don't buy it. I received it as a gift and it broke 13 months later. I didn't even ware it all the time. Their customer service matches the quality of their watch, BOTH ARE LOUSY. I though the company would stand behind their product an replace it, but of course they didn't; why would they, they would go broke replacing every watch that breaks after 13 months. Fraud of a company, selling piece of junk and getting away with it. No wonder they have a 1.5 overall rating. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN, DON'T FALL FOR THIS FRAUD.

Fitbit Surge
July 17, 2017

I purchased 2 fitbit surge's, around Father's Day last year, so now it's a little over a year since the purchase, but I purchased online, and couldn't remember where, so before the year was up, by over a month for both, my wristband, and my husbands wristband both cracked, and broke. These were over $250.00 each! I am in disbelief that it happened to both in less than a year, and I just found out today, that the cheaper one, you're able to replace the band, but not in the expensive one! What a huge waste of money! Plus, the cheaper one, below the surge, was more accurate because when I would wear mine to work, it would count all my arm movements too, whereas the cheaper one didn't. I am highly dissatisfied with the fitbit surge, and please learn from my $500.00 plus mistake, not to waste your money! If someone contacts me, and replaces them, I will retract my review, but I doubt that will happen. The app should prove when we both had to stop using them, which for me was a about 10-1/2 months, and my husband's, around 11 month's. I will never buy another fitbit product again. Hopefully, I save a few some money, because $500.00 dollars is a lot for us to spend, but wish I would've done research now, before buying.

Hi Linda,

We're really sorry to hear about your experience with the Fitbit Surge. You're correct that it counts your arm movements as steps and this is because our wrist-based trackers are all motion sensors. Since your Surge thinks you're walking when your arms are moving, it' wants to give you credit for steps. Please have a read on this article to learn more on data accuracy and how to get the most out of it: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1136.

We want to make sure you have an excellent experience with Fitbit, so we suggest that you reach out to us at contact.fitbit.com or mention this post to see what options are available to you.

We hope to get you back on track soon.

Best,

DO NOT BUY A FITBIT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BUY A NEW ONE ANNUALLY. I've owned the Fitbit Charge 2 for a little more than a year. The HR monitor stopped working, there are lines in the display screen, and a full charge only lasts 2 hours. The warranty on this item is only 1 year. I called Fitbit customer service for help--their response was throw away the Fitbit and buy a new one. At a cost of roughly $150.00 each, I can't believe ANY REASONABLE PERSON thinks this is a good customer service or customer retention policy. Also, I have a coworker who had a similar experience with her fitbit breaking, but she was sent a replacement fitbit outside of the 1 year warranty. I wonder what the difference was between the two of us that she was treated differently. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FITBIT.
