I go into a different Firehouse every year or two to see if they've improved. I'm always sorry. Stingy portions on skimpy rolls. Some of the vegetables appear to be canned, not fresh. Slow, unfriendly service. Subs assembled in secret behind a wall. I ordered a veggie sub and got a slimy mess. I asked for "all vegetables". Some common veggies like cucumber were missing. They told me they don't add those unless you ask for them specifically. Green sweet peppers were soggy and dull. Clearly from a can.

We as a country have come along way with understanding the many diverse ethnic backgrounds that makes up our country. Unfortunately, we still have individuals that can't hide their racism towards others even when you're trying to patronize their establishment. Firehouse Subs located in Avon, Ohio refuses to welcome people of color even when you are polite and respectful! My family has tried on numerous occasions to test our theory in hoping that we were wrong about our assumptions but reality set in when we weren't greeted when walking into the restaurant for the third time. Everyone (non-colored) that walked in after us was welcomed and helped promptly! If I don't feel welcomed then how can I consume food made by a strangers that don't want me there! Would you?

The other afternoon I received a firehouse sub and with in a few hours I had all the symptoms of food poisoning
My sub was vary oily unlike normal and it tasted not as good as normal
If u find oil leaking all over box and Thu to paper bag from ur sub, it could be the bottom of the pot and id highly recommend not eating it
I was sick for 3 days
be careful what you eat out there

Firehouse Subs is great promoting their gift cards but they are not great at redeeming them. The Web site and app won't accept them but will take Google pay. Not all stores accept them, in fact not all stores accept any payment, you have to order from the web site or app.

While the subs are good, the gift cards suck when redeeming, don't bother with them.

Third visit in the last 4 weeks during lunch when I was told my sub would not be ready for at least 15 minutes...today it took 35 min...12:05 until 12:40...two staff members with 17 people waiting like me for lunch...the worst part was the MGR on duty was missing. I was told he was told to make his bank deposit by his superior. I am a retired restaurant operations executive and never was any staff allowed to leave the restaurant during the lunch rush. I felt so sorry for the two staff that tried hard to deliver lunch to all of us waiting...Very sorry to have to write this. Gene Roe

I went to Firehouse's Cascade location in Grand Rapids last night, arriving at 8:30. The polite server told me only online or Doordash orders were being accepted and would not personally take my order. So, I downloaded their app and made it to checkout, where it said my earliest time for checkout was 10:30 am the following day. Consequently, I couldn't order the food. So, I showed the server the timing issue and asked him again, "can I order from you, we're both right here." He politely responded, "No, you'll have to use Doordash." With no way to easily order, I wished the server a nice weekend and went elsewhere to spend money. Make it easier for your customers to spend money and enjoy a sandwich. Thank you.

I was always fond of Firehouse Subs, they always had great customer service! Not now, TERRIBLE! We will look for other places to go! They change their rewards so often, that you can never use them correctly. They say sorry, maybe next time. They never fux the issue!

Communication skills of average employees there is terrible. I've put in multiple orders over the years in different stores in SC & TN and I can say w/out any exaggeration, that 50% of the time, the sandwich isn't prepared as ordered, mostly involving what to put on the sandwiches. Numerous times I have literally pointed to the square box on the counter and said " I want if fully loaded " and the damn sandich comes back plain, nothing on it. No lettuce, no tomato, no onions etc... Are these people even trained to know what "Fully loaded" means? It happened tonight at a store in Columbia TN ( my son ordered to take out) & it happened to me at a store in Spring Hill TN about two weeks ago. In that case, I actually asked the preparer (not the order taker) if she had put everything on it & she looked at me dazed and said " Oh, you wanted everything on it? " - Ummmm, yeah, that's how I ordered it! Good grief, how bout' some better training franchise owners! You're going to lose customers = lost revenue! #dobetter

I ordered make your own sub with Turkey, cheddar cheese, and pepperonis only. My sandwich comes out with tomatoes, onion, mayo, lettuce, Turkey, cheese, and pepperoni. We told the general manager politely that our sandwich was wrong and he said that's how we ordered it so he wasn't going to give us a refund or a new sandwich. Me and my boyfriend both ordered sandwiches and his was right but mine was wrong so he was sitting eating his sandwich while I didn't touch mine. The manager eventually comes up to us when my boyfriend was already done with his sandwich and said he would give us a refund and make a new sandwich. Honestly should have done that in the first place and was not a nice person at all. The person taking our order was new and just learning how to do the register and the manager didn't even help him when he needed help the manager just told him to come make sandwiches while he does the register for him. Food is already expensive here and if my order is wrong they should put the customers first.

One half the size of Subway hoagies, they had no chili as they ran out, ran out of peppers for the steak and cheese hoagie steak overdone. Servers acted like they were doing me a favor just being there, very unfriendly.
I don't think I would buy again.

Tip for consumers:
This was in a service trailer parked at a firehouse in Duryea Pennsylvania.

My husband and I don't go out very often but we decided we would treat ourselves to firehouse subs. We got our food and my husband did ask for jalapeno kettle Vickie's brand of chips that we always loved. He didn't realize that he opened up Lays brand instead. They got got tip from husband but wouldn't bother giving him the chip bag he asked for. They actually gave him a refund for the chips instead of just giving him another bag of chips. We honestly should have just asked for tip. We gave a tip that was more than price of bag of chips. We should have just asked for the tip back, but we too frustrated with the service and the food was really greasy. We normally see much larger cup of soda in past, but it was small. The customer service is what makes the experience and this made a terrible experience for me and my husband. Our mistake we will never go there again.

Tip for consumers:
If you decide to have 2 brands of jalapeno chips and you need to offer which brand if there are 2. This common sense rather that get a refund offer to give back the tip. This was unacceptable and disrespectful to us. We should have never gave a tip

I was offered a 2 for 1 deal on Doordash delivery and spent $25 for my food. When I received my order, I got a sandwich and a pickle. Yay me! When I called customer service, their reply was "the 2 for 1 deal was for pickup only"...really? I asked her if that was correct and she said you're not welcome and hung up! I will never order from Firehouse Subs again

I have had the Steak & Cheese sub before and loved it. However, today it was horrible! It was so SALTY I could not even eat it. It is 'suppose' to be a hot sub, however, it was very very cold. This is sad because I haven't been there in awhile and it is the first bad experience I have had. However, I am not sure that I will go back.

Not a fan. 8 inch looked like 6 inches. The taste was at best okay. Jersey Mike's is much better hands down, but for $2 more and you get a 7 inch.

We bought a tuna sub that had 2 tablespoons of tuna on it. Big on bread, lettuce, a little tomato and onion, and a slice of cheese. Hiding behind the "supporting local firefighters" scam to get you in to buy no-meat sandwiches is embarrassing. Get your subs somewhere else. High price for skimpy servings.
When your only claims to fame are, 1.) "The best $14 bread and lettuce sub in town!", and 2.) "Well, at least we give you more tuna than Subway does!", don't be surprised when you go belly up. One star is one too many.

LOVE your idea of putting cole slaw on a sandwich...but you have to know how to make real pulled pork that should be somewhat stringy, not soft and mushy like yours. Keep trying!

Made the mistake of stopping at firehouse subs today. Worst sub I have ever had. Paid 12.00 for a 4" sub that was basically a lettuce sandwich. 2 little ultra-thin pieces of meat. Really had to hunt to find meat. They relied on the lettuce making it look good. No flavor. Will never eat there again. Sorry I did not wait for Jersey Mike's when I got home. What a rip off.

I was a regular customer until today. They totally messed up my take out order. Got home, took a couple bites and realized that all ingredients were missing except a pickle which I requested not to be included. I took the rest of the sub back incl pickle and because I had a bite out of the sub, they would not credit me for the cost. Unbelievable! Never again. They lost a regular customer over the cost of one sub. Unbelievable!

Stopped at Firehouse subs at Chapel hill in Ri. They had 3 high school kids running the place and manager was at home. Girl at register scanned my rewards points and somehow lost the points and wouldn't give me a sandwich. She tells me she wasn't trained on rewards points. She called the manager at home and manager tells me to call their customer service number. I live 45 minutes away and since in the are wanted to use the points. Now if they put the points back I need to go back again? Ridiculous!and not worth it!
