We bought tickets for $700 for a show, we are not able to go due to COVID and they won't refund any o four money! You can only contact them via email and everyone is sooo rude! You can't even appeal their decision!
We purchased insurance on a cabana rental at a water park. The advertising for the insurance said it covered weather being a reason for not being able to use the cabana. Well that is not true. The company will not refund my rental even though the park was closed due to rain and we were unable to use the cabana! TOTAL RIP OFF!
I was denied a request for a refund that I applied for because I'm not going back to my teaching job in the fall and also because I'm a very recent survivor of lung cancer. Still, they denied my request. I gave them a chance to make it right by disputing it, but I couldn't even hear the crickets. Save your money. They are dishonest.
Bought concert tickets and decided to get insurance due to covid. Ended up not being able to go and the reasons why fell under the insurance. Costumer service was rude and not helpful. Demands ridiculous documentation and when asking for clarification they repeat the same thing over and over again. I did get a refund from the venue itself while the insurance did nothing. I would have rather lost all my ticket money than have to deal with these people again.
Read the fine print! They don't expect to refund you your ticket money. I purchased three tickets to a game for me and my two children. A week before the game I became I'll and it was suggested by my physician I don't attend crowded events because my immune system had been compromised.
I filed a claim with Fanshield for a refund with no success of being refunded. I am having to release my medical records to Fanshield and provide a medical note for my children stating they couldn't attend the event.
This is a crock of BULLSPIT!
I submitted a claim for $60 for a Hawaiian show in Maui. Last week, we found out that my wife was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and she will be going into chemotherapy immediately. This has caused us to cancel our trip to Maui which was 7 weeks in the future. With my claim, I sent my wife's diagnosis and treatment requirements which were in the review notes from her Oncologist. I've received several notes from FanShield stating that they require a note from the doctor that specifically says she is advising us not to attend the Hawaiian show. With all of the trauma of my wife's condition, and getting all of the tests and appointments organized, some high school graduate at FanShield wants me to walk up to an Oncologist and say: Stop all of that life saving stuff you're doing and write me a grammar school note saying we should not attend a music show. FanShield is petty, uncaring, unhelpful and a poor value.
I purchased the FanShield insurance for an event I was going to go to back in February. 2 days before the event I got covid. I sent in my positive test results and they denied the claim. The insurance coveres illness - why do they not cover Covid? Because they know a bunch of people will likely get it. This insurance is such a joke - they cover other illnesses - just not covid. I will never use them again.
I bought insurance on two basketball tickets I had gotten for my fiancé and I as a Christmas gift to him. I bought them in December for a game in January. The insurance seemed like a good call since it was so far away.
Two days before the game my fiancé became I'll and tested positive for Covid (we're both vaccinated). I quickly filed a claim to get a reimbursement and was promptly rejected due to no coverage as a "direct or indirect result of: a epidemic or pandemic"
Im sure this is in their policy, but they make it incredibly hard to find. Not to mention the fact that this policy was nowhere to be mentioned when purchasing the insurance.
Never use this company. Especially these days. Now I'm out more money than if I hadn't gotten the insurance in this first place.
Boooooo!
I purchased the FanShield ticket protection for two rodeo tickets for myself and my wife. I am 78 and my wife 68. On the date of the rodeo, there was an extreme weather warning advising that senior citizens should avoid outdoor events due to the extreme heat. I took that advice along with my cardiologist to not expose myself to these conditions. I filed my claim for a refund from FanShield and was told that I had to have a note from my doctor to be able to be getting a refund. They went as far as to quote the Arizona statute about fraudulent claims, indicating that I was trying to file a false claim. I also sent them the NOAA weather report for the date of the rodeo which clearly stated that an extreme weather alert was in effect. If you buy ticket insurance from FanSheild be prepared to be subjected to a denial because of the ridiculous requirements that you must meet to get your money back.
Doesn't ACTUALLY cover inclemate weather! If I could give 0 stars, I would. The event was not held on the date for which our tickets were purchased due to "the impact of the inclemate weather from Thursday's storm". We were free to exchange our tickets for another date however, Neither of us were able to attend the event on another date offered due to work schedules and prior commitments. (needing to miss the event due to a work conflict is also listed as something that SHOULD have been covered under this insurance policy) I purchased the insurance on these tickets for exactly these reasons but really, this company just has a way out of everything w/ all the little loopholes and exclusions tied up in the fine print and legal jargon. The documents I retrieved and uploaded as proof were nothing but an exercise this company put me through. I would NOT recommend purchasing this company's "insurance", in fact I would advise against it.
I purchased protection for a race as I'm a surgeon and cannot predict when I'll have to work in the hospital over the weekend.
This came up, and I supplied all the information to FanShield (letters from the hospital, documentation of my scheduled OR during the race) only to be denied.
Race directors should not work with FanShield and runners should certainly not pay thinking they are somehow purchasing insurance.
We purchased the Fanshield protection because were buying expensive tickets to a hockey game in Michigan in the dead of winter. We wanted the protection in case we felt unsafe driving. Wouldn't you know it... night of our game and we get 8+ inches of snow and we don't feel safe driving the kids over 45 minutes each way late at night. Plus, we could hardly get out of our neighborhood and all the schools were closed as it was a massive, multiple state storm. Fanshield said since the State Police had not closed any roads we were denied our claim. When we purchased the protection it stated "inclement weather". It's not like it was rainy and we did not want to get wet. It was a winter storm with blizzard like conditions. Since then I have read nothing but negative reviews. Additionally, I have filed a claim with the BBB.
We woke up with Covid like symptoms the morning of the event so we thought it best not to go due to all the warnings of not going with symptoms. I had purchased the insurance just for this reason( I normally do not purchase it). I cannot get a refund unless we all have a drs note!
DO NOT BUY THIS!
Fanshield is an absolute scam. They have a loophole for everything. When reached by phone they were totally condensing. In the business of collecting premiums and not paying claims
I was unable to attend a $400 New Years eve gala due to covid. Claim denied because pandemic and epidemic not covered. This company is a SCAM, don't waste your money!
My grandmother has been very sick since August. I bought tickets for an event in November and got ticket insurance through FanShield. She took a nose dive on the 11th the day before the event. I didn't get to go on the 12th because I was taking care of her. She passed away the 13th. Not only did I have to provide them a copy of her death certificate (which seems really unnecessary to me?) they won't give me a refund because she didn't pass away THE DAY OF THE EVENT. They have no compassion or regards for their customers. If your event gets their ticket insurance through FanShield, don't bother wasting your money!
I made reservations with a Casino Hotel in Tunica, MS. The reservation was made some 2-1/2 weeks out. The Hotel and FANSHIELD charged me immediately the SAME DAY. The outing was a special trip with my 92 year old Mom. I couldn't believe a hotel/insurance was charging me for a room that I hadn't even checked into that far in advanced. That upset me, in addition to my Mom two days later wasn't feeling well. Well FANSHIELD asked me for proof that MY 92-YEAR-OLD MOTHER was ill by providing Doctor's statements. Well, firstly NOT going to provide you with doctor statements for a 92-year-old woman (it's a blessing she is still here) and why are you charging my card this far in advance. Requested full credit and FANSHIELD refused. I was able to work admirably with the Casino Hotel who refunded me the entire hotel room stay.
NEVER AGAIN SELECT INSURANCE IF IT IS "FANSHIELD". A RIP OFF COMPANY! Shame on YOU! Thieves!
I was in a car accident and was scheduled for repairs during the concert. Was unable to attend due to not having a vehicle, which was supposed to be covered. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
What a RIPOFF of enormous proportion! Sent 3 documents inc info they were not entitledto due to HIPPA & not good enough for them. Now I'm out tix price & price of insurance. No wonder they don't have place to review them on their site.
Do not use this company. We used their Stayshield product to cover a hotel stay. Situations change and we had to cancel. They denied the claim due to 'insufficient' documentation. A complete rip off!
Answer: This company is a total scam. They deny any legit claim!
Answer: They will email you right back if the answer is no.
Answer: Nope. The only success stories you might find will be on their web page.
