FanShield Review FanShield would not honour my claim as it wasn't one of their "official reasons" for paying out. My situation was a deeply hurtful family situation but that didn't matter to them. Also, it took FanShield two full weeks to contact me. (I did speak to a customer service woman, twice, and bless her soul…she has a difficult job.) Save your money or look for somebody else. There is a reason why FanShield has such dismal reviews.
Bought the fanshield coverage for the ohio renaissance festival just to be safe with the storm and weather this time around. The renaissance festival lost power this past weekend and only had partial power sunday. Fanshield was sent screenshot from their website about the storms, power outages and will not issue a refund. This coverage is a scam please don't waste your time and money.
I bought tickets to a baseball game out of town. My work schedule then changed preventing me from being able to travel out of town for the game. They denied my claim saying they needed travel documents showing I had to travel for work. I replied back telling them I work in the same city I'm employed and would not be able to travel out of town for the game. I even supplied work orders with my supervisor signature. They still denied my claim.
If you are self-employed and a solopreneur without employees to give your ticket to, it's not just about the money, it's about the impact on your business. I purchased a $75.00 business womens event ticket I fully intended to attend - obviously at that price! As a self-employed consultant, when clients require me to travel to be part of something they need from me, I go. It's how I make my living. Knowing the fluidity of my business, that's why I bought the protection. After several rounds of providing the information they requested, they said I was not eligible for the refund because I am self-employed. This policy not only affects my finances but also my ability to serve my clients. They claim that my business's needs did not count for being required to travel for work-related purposes, which would not allow me to attend the event. I needed to show copies of airline tickets or other travel like renting a car. My travel was two hours away which required me to travel by my own vehicle (why rent a car) during the hours of the event. Traveling in my own vehicle doesn't count. It's a sham and unconscionable that a company conducts themselves this way. What a disservice to the group who sold the tickets and had FanShield tied to it like it really is a true insurance policy. It's not!
Requested documentation is not sufficient enough. Don't waste additional dollars trying to protect in case of an incident. If something comes up be OK losing the money, but don't waste it on this company.
I submitted photos of my broken car part, and the part number and warranty receipt and they still denied my refund. Customer service swore they'd call me back and never did. Just don't waste your money.
All I did was try to book a hotel room online, and all the sudden my $99 hotel room had $53 worth of fees on it, they tricked me into this fan Shield that I never asked for and won't let me cancel. I feel like I've been scammed by this company!
Purchase this when it said, it covered rain, death accident, etc. well it poured down rain filed a claim won't give it back had friends that were going they did not purchases. They called the park and got a full refund from the park. Do not buy beware.
FanShield made buying event insurance easy and stress-free. The website was simple to use, and I got the coverage I needed quickly. Customer service was helpful and responsive. Overall, a great experience!
Do not trust them because I made the mistake of being honest and telling them I had to cancel my ticket because I had a mental health episode. I really did. I had one of my major panic attacks come on. And they wrote me back that mental health episodes are not covered! Meanwhile when you read the rules it says that any illness or injury inclusive of covid is covered. I received an email asking them for me to send them a PCR test for my covid and I told them I never had covid. It seems to me people are still obsessed with this covid nonsense. Who is still requesting a PCR test in 2023 almost 2024? So if I would have said covid I would have gotten my money back. Do not trust them! Now I'm stuck with my ticket. I'm disgusted.
Contracted Covid and was unable to travel. Insurance refused to cover my hotel room so not only did I lose the money for the room but the additional $49 I paid for the insurance. Impossible to speak to someone with the company and only received preprogrammed responses. Don't waste your time or money.
I made a hotel reservation, (2nights) that included "refund protection" for $72.00. Still can't see where I was given a choice to include or decline it.I normally decline. I called the next day when $72.00 was charged to my CC. Was told refund protection came through a different company. I called fanshield. They claim you can talk to a human if you fill out a request and wait three days. In the meantime I cancelled the hotel. Went back to FanShield to formally request a refund. Apparently since I cancelled the reservation the refund is forfeited. Harsh lesson for me. My mistake for "accepting" their unreasonable terms and conditions. Misleading at best.
I'm disabled with polyurethane disease I get sick easily. We purchased fan shield for a huge New Year Eve party out of state... I became sick... Went to doc 7 days before party. $265 is owed to us BY fansheld BUT because my doctor note is from 12-24-23 they won't accept I was sick? I WAS STILL ON THE ANTIBIOTICS?! This is just a ba scheme to sell their services but they will find a way not to pay! It's ridiculous and this whole experience is making me sicker. I've never cried so much in my life.
They would not accept images of at home covid tests. They would not accept doctors notes or labs. What is the point? The policy is misleading by shorthanding "illness" in the texts and then putting "exception for pandemic/epidemic" in the Terms.
SCAM! Only pays in "specific" situations, as if life is that predictable! We had to move my son and daughter in law (who live three hours from us) within two days of closing on their house, which fell during the timeframe of the tickets I bought this insurance for. I was denied even though the realtor supplied a letter stating the situation. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS IT IS NOT WORTH IT!
Used Fanshield when purchasing tickets for a Rennaissance Faire for the family. Had to cancel on the trip because my sister broke her leg. They wanted all the details, including dates and witnesses, before issuing a refund. When provided they wanted the doctors notes on her visit. Then they wanted x-rays from her treating hospital. I am pretty surenafter that they wouldnhave wanted her broken leg to be sent in the mail. This is a scam meant to take your money in the hopes you won't have to cancel. If you do they will try to delay and throw you for a loop as much as possible in order to not issue a refund.
WOW! This company is out of integrity in every way.
Do not buy from this company. I was unable to attend an event due to road closed weather-related incident and they are making me go through so many hoops to get them to take the claim. I finally reached out to the box office and they refunded my money within 5 min.
Businesses like these need to be shut down. We have had enough of this type of behavior! It's time to put a stop to this immediately!
Purchased insurance on concert tickets and was told it was coverage for illness, accidents, family emergencies, and other reasons. Then found out that if the illness you get is part of a pandemic then you're not covered! Are you kidding!? What an absolute rip off!
They automatically deny your claim. Do not trust this company. I researched all I needed to send and they stated back need more information…. They push to make you waste time and forget… now despite stating many reasons can deter you from your plans they came up with a resin of a common carrier story….
Car broke down so I tried to get a refund on my entry ticket. I can see now I should have not bought this. Now it is million questions time. Can't get the car in for a bit yet due to busy time of year. They collect fast but try to avoid their commitment
Answer: This company is a total scam. They deny any legit claim!
Answer: They will email you right back if the answer is no.
Answer: Nope. The only success stories you might find will be on their web page.
