Horrible Customer Service
October 5, 2022

I've contacted this company for a refund for my tickets due to literally moving out of state around 2-3 weeks before the event and they would not give me the time of day. I provided housing and job relocation documentation as well as the amount of miles I am away from the venue (240, btw). I'm even going on a work trip that weekend for our company at a job fair which I provided hotel documentation for. They basically want your first born and a kidney to give you your money back. Waste of time and money.

This company decided that my $14 is more important than refunding the customer. The show was cancelled and refunded by the venue a full month prior to its original planned date. I reached out the fanshield for a refund as there was nothing to protect with a policy. They referred my to the fine print. I really don't think a company that won't refund a measly $14.65 for no work done would go to bat for you if you did need a refund. Also, most credit cards will argue your case with the venue. I was an idiot yo click that fear box. Read the better business bureau's article on ticket insurance scams.

Scam
December 20, 2021

You are offered insurance on your tickets in case you cannot attend the event. However, when you go to claim they make it impossible to get your money back. I purchased basketball tickets and the tip off was moved forward over an hour, at which point i was no longer able to attend due to work commitments. My supervisor wrote a letter stating these facts, and they replied "that this does not provide documentation that you had to travel to work"... so unless you rented a car or took a flight for work, you wont get your money back. This insurance is extremely misleading and absolutely useless.

They should rename themself as: FanScrew
September 18, 2023

They are trying to use every inch of space not to pay.
I have got a flat tire on my way to show. And had to change it with my spare.
I already bought new tires 3 days prior to purchasing the tickets. But not yet have them installed.
Even though I have proof of purchase of my new tires, they still didn't pay.
I wish bad karma on them. Hope they will go bankrupt soon.

Absolutely shocking service
September 24, 2021

Absolutely shocking service. I had insurance for a half marathon and proof of a long-term ligament condition which they refused to accept unless I had a doctors not specifically saying I couldn't attend the event - which costs £25 to obtain. I won't be using this scam company again.

Fanshield is a joke. They are not worth it. Went back and forth via email and did not provide the type of experience I was expecting from an insurance provider. Their goal is to make sure you don't get a refund.

SCAM INSURANCE
August 13, 2021

During the whole pandemic situation, they prefer to keep their money instead of cover the biggest reason for an attendee of a public event to be restricted from attending. Family matters of illness are not taking seriously. The fast response just means they did not look into it at all or brushed the reasoning aside.

Fan Shield Is a ripoff! I purchased it because we did not know when our daughter was going to give birth. We found out we need to be there the same time as the concert tickets we purchased.
I sent them our Expedia travel plans, but now they want me ask my daughter to get them a copy of her hospital stay, REALLY! Don't was your money!

Be prepared to pay more for the protection, and then if you need it, be prepared to not get your money back. I had a qualifying event that required cancellation and refund. They requested letterheads and notes from supervisors to get my money back. Then when I provided it, they stated that I could only get my money back for my ticket. My date no longer wanted to go to the game without me. Now I'm in a dispute to try and get that ticket refunded since my situation had changed. Garbage service. Garbage policies. Now I'm taking time to handle my situation and try to get my money back that I paid the protection for. Do not buy this add on.

Bad system
May 17, 2023

I used this insurance on a hotel I booked. I made a mistake on the booking date. I called the hotel and they informed me that I could not change the reservation because I had insurance. Fan shield said my reason did not meet their policy for refund. I was not trying to get a refund I was trying to change the reservation date. You can never actually speak to someone at Fan shield. The funny thing is my Amex said they would insure my future reservations at no extra cost. Do not waste your money with this company.

This is a racket company that do NOT honor their coverage policy for health reason as would be expected. They refuse to honor our refund request being a high risk for us to attend the event during the very high rate of covid omicron taking place in our city right now. Unless you are dying in the hospital, do not expect any refund. Do not bother purchasing any of their policies.

They make anything impossible to get you a refund! They are worse than an insurance company when trying to get reimbursed for an event that you cannot attend! I will NEVER use them again!

Bad refund policy
December 2, 2021

We filed claim due to death in family. Submitted all documentation that was asked for and required. After going back and forth they denied the claim. Should have read the reviews first before purchasing it. Every review from all who purchased Fanshield Insurance were all bad. Not one person got their money back. The documentation they request is ridiculous! Then when you submit what they request they turn around and ask for something else. In some cases they wanted medical records from people. In our case they didn't see the relationship between us and family member was good enough even though we were caregivers to the deceased. Never ever purchase insurance from this company! A complete ripoff!

Purchased Fanshield coverage for FCS Football National Title game and tested Positive for Covid with symptoms the day before travel. Was denied refund due to pandemic exclusion…Really? I should have jumped on a plane when sick with Covid and then stood in a crowd. This company should be ashamed. Would have traveled but didn't want to get others sick. I hope Fanshare goes out of business.

I bought tickets for a show at Gayland Texan and purchased the insurance. I then came down with a mild case of Covid but I can not go to the show. Everyone else, including the federal government, has taken restrictions off of Covid, basically saying it is the same as the flu. They rejected my request for a refund saying it is still an epidemic!

Fanshield is a complete waste of money. They will not cover you for any reason. Only their ridiculous and construed ones. They hire a full time employee to do damage control on negative reviews becasue their business model is that unethical.

Don't waste your money.
January 6, 2023

It's a scam. They are not ever giving you money for anything. We couldn't drive from Oklahoma to Tennessee during Christmas because of artic blast. Roads were icey and dangerous and they said no. Don't waste your money. No mater what they are not helping you. Just another American scam.

So I purchased a ticket for Kansas BSB concert through these guys as their mentions on the website seem to cover a very broad spectrum of reasons to not be able to attend a show (illnesses included). So my friend who was supposed to be taking me to the airport got covid and was very ill - but because they are not a parent the insurance doesn't cover it (illnesses other than the ticket holder only apply to family - which is literally just parents and siblings). So what about people who do not have family members or their parents do not drive? And I got conflicting information all 3x I called. Will never use this service again and will be going back to only Ticketmaster purchases.
