Eyeconic was not accessing the correct amount for my contact lens allowance and it took a while to resolve this concern
I was about to place an order with Eyeconic and the sales tax I was being charged seemed suspiciously high. My out of pocket charge was $225 but the sales tax was $43. I did the math and Eyeconic was charging sales tax on the entire price, which I believe is incorrect. I started Googling and in the State of California prescription glasses are considered a "medical device" and are exempt from sales tax for the end user. I reached out to their customer service, as I believe this is a big error, and got a pretty canned response saying they are a "retailer" and that's why they are charging sales tax. It doesn't matter who is selling prescription glasses but bottom line the end user should not be charged sales tax. I am no longer going to purchase from Eyeconic due to this issue.
