Child size portions
Box in total disarray
Busted open rice all over everything
Free sample of kiwi juice dripping out of the box
Purchased initial box, paused 2 weeks after and still got charged for the meal i never ordered. No refunds either. Pathetic waste of money
I ordered our first box of 4 meals for two people that was to arrive Aug. 9 but arrived Aug. 8 instead. There was no notification it would arrive early and the FedEx driver never knocked or rang the bell, so the box wasn't discovered for 24 hrs. It sat outside half of one day, overnight, and half of the next day in a heat index of 114 degrees.
When I opened the food package there was no ice pack(s), only the insulated liner. The root vegetables were fine, but the ground beef and ground pork were gray-brown, half cooked. The chicken and salmon I'd ordered were missing from the box, so instead of 4 days of meals there were only 2, now inedible.
I cancelled my subscription, telling the operator why, and was given a refund. By the time my VISA bill arrived there was the initial charge, the refund, plus a new charge listed. There was no mention of an additional charge during that conversation because the operator knew I hadn't received half of the order.
I called EveryPlate again and was told the new charge was for the premium meal (salmon) I'd ordered... the salmon that apparently eloped with the chicken tenders instead of getting into the box.
The operator for this latest call was extremely rude as I was trying to explain the situation. I didn't know I had an inner Karen, she never came out in public till today when I finally raised my voice and told her to listen to what I was saying and not keep telling me I had a premium meal I needed to pay for. I shouldn't have to pay for something I never received. She listened, then said something I couldn't make out, and suddenly I was on terminal hold.
So here I am with my complaint. I feel no inclination to ever use or recommend their service or those under the other names they use (HelloFresh, etc.).
P.S.--Did some closer inspection of their recipes and discovered that many of their meals have a very high percentage of salt listed on the nutrition sheets. Not healthy!
P. P.S.--Try and unsubscribe from their email, it's impossible, their email just keeps coming no matter how many times you tell them you want to unsubscribe from all of their variety of emails.
I live in a larger town with all of the normal amenities and decided to sign up for EveryPlate because my sister uses it and enjoys it.
The website allowed me to sign up based off of my zip code with no issues, I set up my meal box, and I was charged.
Delivery day came and I did not receive a box so I called. I was told that it was only delayed and give it until 8pm. Still no box. I called the next morning, I was told to wait until 8pm of that day as well, still no box, even though their website and app showed that it had been delivered to my house. They seemed confused, told me there was some sort of mistake and they credited my account and assured me I would get my next box the next week.
The website and app says that shipping information is provided for each shipment, yet nothing was ever received.
The website and app say I do not need to take action with the credits, they will automatically be applied, yet it wasn't and I was still charged for the next box.
Time for the second delivery attempt, the app and website both show my box is delivered and also reflects that it's my second delivery. I have no box. I have porch, doorbell, and driveway cameras, so there was zero chance of theft.
Their office is closed because it's a weekend so I use their chat function and ask again about delivery notifications that are promised, but I'm only met with excuses. I ask about my second missed delivery and why I was charged even though I had credits, more excuses. Finally, I'm told that I never received my boxes because there are no available couriers in my area. Seriously? Zero chance to receive a shipment but I'm charged twice. I'm told its on the way twice. It is shown as delivered twice.
I received a partial refund and have been asking for days to talk to a supervisor to get the rest of my money back but am told they're always in meetings and have yet to get a call back even though I was told I would be called. This entire situation is a joke and unacceptable on every level.
The meals themselves were wonderful. Quality of the food I got, also wonderful. That's not why I'm here writing a review.
EveryPlate does a promotion where they tell you that you can send coupons to your friends. One is for you to send your friends a free box (and it is completely free) and the second option is to send them a discounted box (the discount applies to their first three boxes) and YOU get a 20$ credit for EACH friend who successfully orders a box.
That is how it is supposed to work. I recently called Customer Service and told them I wanted to cancel my subscription, mainly because I don't like how you can't pay for a box via a "pay now" button... you have to wait for it to come out as an ACH payment on a specific date and that was just too much of a pain to me considering I like to get it out of the way so that I know it's paid for and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I didn't like the idea of the money sitting in my checking account and another automatic payment for something else interrupting or taking my food box money.
Anyway, during that conversation the rep obviously tried to get me to stay. He offered me a 10$ credit on my account and said if I wanted I could just pause for a few months. I then asked him about the promotions they offer and he literally told me there was no such thing, they don't exist. I told him that was wildly untrue and he said "if you can provide me with a screenshot and email it to me, I would be happy to look into it." I felt like he thought I didn't have proof, but I did, so I emailed it but after he continued to tell me that they don't give out credits for having people sign up. So he received the email, saw that it was a thing, and proceeded to add a 20$ credit to my account as the promotion promised. Then I asked him, what about the other person I sent the promotion to? I had sent out two promotion codes and they both ordered boxes and both of them were listed on my app as claimed with their emails. He said you only get one 20$ credit no matter how many friends you have sign up.
I truly believe this man either had no idea what he was talking about or EveryPlate is just a freaking scam because if they really meant that the promotion of a 20$ credit for getting people to sign up was a one time credit of 20$ no matter how many people you got to sign up, they should have SAID that.
I wasn't happy at all. My opinion is that EveryPlate is trash and just another company that wants to screw you over. If you don't mind, go for it.
They are a scam they won't let you cancel they don't give refunds customer service is atrocious.
NEVER NEVER NEVER USE.
Answer: Very good, not much else left to say. Representative was extremely helpful
Answer: I guess the sucess story is i have been using them a year it goes smoothly as it should, and I have no complaints.
Answer: I have tried others, that were more expensive, the instructions either were very time consuming or they didn't send any, you had to go online to get them them. I dont' know of any that have better price.
