Hi I bought a couple things from Etsy. A personalized mug and key from the kids for my love for fathers day. They are amazing! I had minor questions and concern about the product and they were extremely helpful. They made sure that understood everything. I also had to change something at the last minute and they were ok with it. My products arrived on time and my kids were so excited. They did really good. And I would recommend to anyone for their personalized needs. In fact I'm ordering from them again now for Christmas. They do excellent work.

Great site! All products handmade or vintage! Great prices! Unique products! Very friendly buyers from all over the world! Custom orders! Security system! (so no seller can steal your money without a punishment, and so no one does.)
I buy from etsy very often and i am 100% satisfied! I recommend it without any doupt!
I received a shipment from Sally Sloane recently and was thrilled with the merchandise. It looks even better in my home than on the website. I'm thrilled I found her website and it was very easy to navigate and order. Every item was carefully wrapped and arrived promptly.
Can not recommend her stones and jewelry highly enough. I hadn't spoken to Sally in decades and it was wonderful to reconnect with such a talented and kind friend.
I had a shop on etsy for over a year and they shut my shop down. I e mailed them before and after they closed my shop with no responce from etsy! Customer service is just awful! I am selling the same items as dozens of other sellers on etsy not sure why they would shut my shop down and no one else's. Again they never e mailed me back with a reason. I had all positive feedback from customers and now have my customer base using eBay and artfire! Etsy went downhill!
If you are looking for handmade, homemade or home grown, this is a great place to find them. Shopping here is very diverse as you can buy things like whole vanilla beans to sterling silver handmade jewelry. Many artisans and crafters use this site as a platform to sell their goods. Important to check the ratings and read reviews before you order from someone. Have never had any problems; you shouldn't either, as long as you know how to shop sites like this.
I purchased a few items through a seller and hadn't received them in time. It was constant bs with waiting another week after week to receive the item. Excuses beyond excuses. Then finally, I took it up with my credit card company when the seller refused to give me a refund and thank goodness they reimbursed me. During and after the dispute, the seller harassed me endlessly and Etsy did nothing about it. I buy all the time and never had a situation like this. The harassment is still continuing after more than 2 months and all Etsy said was not to contact me. Apparently, this seller has a habit of this type of harassment since they've done it to others before. And again, Etsy had done nothing to help her either. Bottom line: Etsy are liars when they say that there is zero tolerance to harassment.
I started selling on Etsy quite some time ago. I never sold a lot, but it was enough to make it worth it. Etsy has become so over saturated with mass-produced items that it is equivalent to Ebay.com. It is so sad to see, and I had to dissolve my business with them. Etsy used to be a community of honest, hard working, hand crafting, sellers. Now I cannot tell you the amount of dishonest sellers I have encountered in the past couple of years. It is truly disheartening to see. I bough a custom order for my wedding, and the product was not as described. I couldn't use the product at all. I was not offered the option to either replace or return the product. Can you imagine the unnecessary stress this added to my wedding? I even opened an etsy case and it was dismissed without being addressed. Etsy has come to a point where they do not care about the quality of the products they are allowing to be sold. I am utterly disgusted.
I have been on Etsy for 10 years. Since Etsy has been taken over Josh Silverman (glorified on thejewishnews.com), this website is now horrible, fees are higher and sales dropped for most of the sellers. Their rules are shady.
They stand as 'handmade plateform' which even more shady, now just type in search 'dildo' and you will find and see what I mean.
If you are a seller, stay away from this plateform!
Tried to sell authenticated vintage Versace sunglasses. Etsy deactivated it stating it violated their policies. I had them authenticated twice and showed proof. They told me they would not respond to any more emails attempting to fix the problem. Apparently their "experts" are better than any other experts! I doubt it. Doesn't matter that they previously sold an identical item in the past. Very poor business practices. But with the rates they charge why would anyone want to sell on their platform when the are other ones better. Etsy needs to reevaluate their policies, pricing and everything else. Will no longer do business with them.
I was promised delivery within a week and paid for express delivery but I did not get the item for some weeks and then had difficulty with customs as I am in the UK. I had made it clear that the dress was to be used as a costume for a play. I found the shops attitude totally unhelpful because the dress did not arrive on time for the play so was no use to me. They refused to give me a refund. Some time has passed but they knew the circumstances and this is a bullish attitude. They still sell this dress and and it would not be a hardship to them to accept a return. As it is I have lost an awful lot of money on wasted postage and customs fees and I would still have to pay postage back. I would not recommend buying from these people at all.
100% do not order from Etsy. They let shops scam you, close their shop, and don't help you recover the money you spent to be scammed. Their customer service is terrible. I used to love the platform to support small business but I will never use it again. I've been trying to figure out if my package will ever be sent out for two months now and I have had no help from Etsy after being ignored from the shop for weeks and weeks. DO NOT USE ETSY!
I recently listed a couple of my items on Etsy but they deactivated my account without properly explaining me the reason, sent me scary emails that they will submit me to the collection agencies if they are willing to, and have frozen my $50 dollars for 6 months which I earned by selling 4 items. They customer service demonstrates absolute disrespect and harassment, and don't even think that their actions are legal they just took my money and do not want to pay me back. Distasting customer service, they don't even have telephone number to explain all details, and unreliable selling platform. Regards, Paul.
This is an amazing site of handmade goods, clothing and art. The artists are friendly and the prices are wonderful. Its Paypal supported so that you really can't go wrong here. You can have conversations with the artists through Etsy. If you are looking for a unique gift this is the site to visit regardless of whether you have a small budget or a big one. Check it out and have funt!
They have been holding my money for over 5 days, and claim they have to review it for processing but it is taking way too long and I initially wanted it shipped the next day... this is ridiculous. I want a refund or for it to be processed.
My wife and I ordered from this shop on etsy called "funfashionsetc", a shirt for our sons first birthday. We received confirmation that the order was complete and the bank account detailed that payment had been taken out but the woman said that she never received the payment and she was not giving us anything in return, no money, no shirt, no nothing. Although we sent her the verifications of the payment taking place. It is a shame that because of her our son cannot have wear something birthday related for his first birthday since it was so close to his birthday in finding this out. A decent human being would have approached this situation differently seeing as how we had proof that the payment in fact took place.
I won't buy from Esty any longer. They have no way to pay with a credit card, only through Paypal. I canceled my order and won't be shopping there again. If this is customer service, they need to go back to school. I'm spreading the word because because nobody should be forced to do anything they don't want to do it. I wish there was a category for ZERO stars!

I have ordered a piece of jewelry online on sept 29th and as of this date nov 22 have not received anything. All though they have credited my credit card. I have tried to contact them. And even though their web site looks like they give you a way to do so after writing it comes back undelivered. The piece I ordered was sub let to wishingstone design. Which I also tried to contact with the same results. I guess I could kiss the $$ good bye? Just in case they see this my order# *******
I bought a $1100. 00 dresses custom made from texas, the etsy store went out of business next day after I paid, contacted etsy and they did nothing other then telling me to open a case but were not responsible for the furniture store! Called my CC and open a dispute,
Btw, the etsy invoice says shipped on sunday 11/3 and etsy tells me to wait 5 weekdays, contactes the seller several times never got back to me,
Scammmmmmmmmmmmmmm
300/5000
I ordered a tank top on etsy and I never received it. The merchant did not want to refund me and etsy site did not intervene. They are not real merchants. They proceed illegally. It is very strange that the site has not yet been reported to the police. They're thieves.
Purchased a $250 Etsy gift card for my granddaughter since she loves Etsy. It was emailed and used it to make a few purchases. A day later they cancelled all her orders and told her her address was associated with fraud. She lives in an apartment building in NYC. I wanted a refund of the card price of $250 since they would not allow her to use it and they refused so I called my credit card company and got a refund. I wouldn't do business with them again and my granddaughter has since closed her account. They said it was a mistake but they should have done their homework first before treating her like that.
Answer: Check the reviews, and Google the seller. Also, are the reviews written in good english? Does it seem fake? Check pictures from the buyers.
Answer: I would have to say no, with LOTS of exceptions. In the past few years Etsy has allowed business to claim handmade if it meets certain criteria. I often see many items that claim to be handmade but I have seen them on Alibaba being sold in bulk. That being said I look very closely and have purchased some wonderfu items from great sellers. The biggest problem with Etsy is that they no longer protect customers from fraud (they say they are not liable) but in doing that lots and lots or resellers and counterfeit items have saturated Etsy' s marketplace. I would never buy anything "vintage" there. What I have seen you are getting thrift store rejects or modern fake. Buyer beware! Investigate all vendors carefully!
Answer: I am agree with Ramina. 90% is not hand made. All comes from Factories. When someone has over 8000's item don't you ask who made it. They are all over from Pakistan to turkey east to west up united state. Etsy is happy just to take your money and every 4 or 5 months closing one store to show off and if you have some money as a credit they take it too. No customer service, no respect no manor, they made policy just for FUN and they have FUN with our pocket. Stay far from them FAR FAR.
Answer: I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy
Answer: Business checking isn't necessary (the banks now charge a monthly fee for a small business checking). You can pretty much set up a regular checking account
Answer: I believe this depends on each seller. Etsy is simply a platform for sellers, and often does not have any direct involvement with orders short of processing the payment. Certain items cannot be returned for safety and hygiene reasons, and sellers can refuse to do anything other than exchange. Contacting Etsy may or may not change the results.
Answer: If you do, I would be cautious about ordering from international sellers, use a credit card in case you need to contest the charges, and do NOT expect ETSY do a thing if you get ripped off. They are useless and could care less once the sale is final.
Answer: I have bought a number of items through Etsy and with great success. I had only one negative experience and Etsy took are of that. I recommend Etsy wholeheartedly.
Answer: The best and quickest thing to do is to email the seller and let them know that you would like to return for a refund.
The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and unresolved order issues. Many customers report extensive delays in shipping and inadequate communication regarding their purchases, leading to frustration and a sense of helplessness. Additionally, there are widespread concerns about the platform's reliance on automated systems, which fail to provide effective support for both buyers and sellers. Despite some positive experiences with individual sellers, the overarching sentiment highlights a pressing need for improved transparency and accountability from the company to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.
