We purchased a spare tire mount for $745 4 days ago and haven't received it yet. We now see the price is $697, but they will not issue a credit for $50. They said we could return this heavy item for $50 and then they would send us a new one at the new price. We asked if they would pay the freight for the return and were told NO. Zero stars for customer service or customer retention efforts. You just lost a long time customer...Amazon...here we come.
Although this review specifically relates with a recent purchase I made to adapt a roof rack from one of my vehicles to another, it is applicable and may as well be for the many purchases I have made over the years. Simply put, one would be challenged to suggest improvement with the experience shopping with etrailer. Starting with the ease of use with the website, range and availability of products, support for any questions or issues, and the excellent database of customer and sample photos and video which are invaluable to installation. They run a business the way it should be done, plan on being a long term customer for years to come.
I purchased a roof rack and a trailer brake controller. Both items arrived quickly and were exactly what I needed. Great communication from etrailef!
Overall, etrailer is great to work with. Pricing is very reasonable. Shipping is quick. My main complaint is the parts are not packaged very well. Most everything is thrown in one box, and some parts get cosmetic damage by other parts in the box.
I easily found the 3 items fifth wheel rails and custom fit mounting kit, the timbkin bump stops to handle the camper better, and the in the box electrical plugin that tees into factory wiring no cutting or splicing. Everything came the day they said it would.
I had ordered some parts for my Rhino Rack and the box that the parts came in did not include everything that it was supposed to. It's extremely frustrating to receive a product that is useless without that part that is excluded. There are other online sites that sell the same products as Etrailer, and I recommend using them instead of dealing with missing parts. How my order left their fulfillment center with missing parts shows their lack of professionalism and extremely poor service. You should get what you paid for, not an opportunity to dial their number and speak to impatient customer service with poor solutions to a problem that Etrailer created. I wont buy from them in the future, and anyone should be hesitant at doing so as well.
A couple of email exchanges helped me find the right part for my camper - fast and helpful engagement - fast shipment and a good price... Would definitely order from etrailer again.
I recently purchased a Stainless Steel truck tool box latch from eTrailer. It broke within days. (The photos below show the lock bolt jammed sideways under its cheap sheetmetal retainer.) Their response was that they could not give a refund due to the fact that I had already installed it. What kind of policy is that? Their alternative was to offer me a 25% reimbursement to keep their junk part. That would have amounted to about $15. I wrote a polite and diplomatic response, asking for 10% off of my next purchase in exchange for keeping the defective part and I would try to repair it myself. They declined my offer, saying they could not discount future orders (really?) Finally, I asked them to take 50% off of their defective part and they withdrew all offers. I will shop elsewhere in the future.
