19 durango perfect fit. Looks factory. Took 3 hours to install with a wiring harness which was also plug and play. Rather than run the wire under the car i chose to route it through the interior to my battery under the passenger seat. Made things much faster. Could have done it in 2 but the bumper facia was being a pain and I was trying to be gentle. The videos made me feel confident about making it happen. I did mine laying in the driveway. I did not drop the exhaust down. I had wobble sockets and extentions to avoid doing that.
To be fair I did not provide my complete set up. I merely asked for a confirmed to fit brake light system that the wiring system was completely separate from tow vehicles lighting system running/brake lights and signals. Similar to the RM-152-LED that fits my 2019 Grand Cherokee. I have watched many of the very helpful videos for your products and pieced together the list of parts. As far as I can tell the only things that splice into the vehicles factory wiring is the brake relay and the tail light diodes. The rest connects to the battery post and vehicle ground. Kevin mentioned I did not need the brake light relay but I answered the questions on the items listing and determined I do need it because my brake light and turn signal uses the same light. If I do not use it the brake light relay, the brakes will override the turn signal. The stop light switch is merely a braking indicator light. My question was about avoiding tapping into the vehicle's wiring with concerns about factory or my extended warranty being voided with regards to the wiring be tampered with. By the way some of the items listing actually warns customers of this. In Kevin's response he assured me that this was not a issue and that splicing into the system was so easy a caveman could do it. With the videos you guys provide I believe him, but if it turns out I void my warranty and there are other issues later on, I may be better off replacing taillights from water leaking into as opposed to my vehicle wiring system. So if there was a way to have the demco braking work the brakes without sending the brake light signal and rely on the separate wiring drilled into the tail light I believe I could avoid any possible issues with my warranty. I would have responded directly to him for clarification but that was not a option and was referred to calling support line. I would also suggest not posting the original because it's not entirely correct as far as I can tell and may not help others.
Ordered Sumospring on Monday and was able to install them on Saturday. We have read many reviews and viewed many videos, hopefully we will have great results with towing the 5th wheel.
Greg,
Thank you so much. I got it now b. = off. It worked. & you are right I have to keep adjusting the brake setting so the trailer does not lock up. It depends on gravel vs. paved surface. I went to dump it was a gravel surface down hill, the trailer locked on me at 5.6 boost off, but on the paved surface the trailer & tow vehicle came to a prefect stop at a light. I highly recommend this brake controller. Thanks, Sam
I got all of my questions answered in a timely manner and the company was very responsive.
Thanks for your help Jerred H.
This item arrived on time and properly fit our 2022 Chevy Colorado as specified in the description. We'll see how the quality holds up.
Worst company to do business with. They sell you products that don't fit your car and they want to bill you back shipping charges for returning their stuff. Stay away from this people. Totally unethical business practices.
Bryce D. Provided very helpful feedback on my unusual situation. His response was somewhat quick and complete.
C Jameson gave a very good reply to my question on tow bar lighting kits for a 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. While my Jeep does not have ParkSense (shortage of parts when I ordered in July 2022), I don't think that influences the design of the tail lights. The fact that they are LED lights merits using a different set of diodes. I am not convinced that this setup does not need to charge the toad battery, since the supplemental braking system will likely use power for its vacuum pump.
I followed all the info given on their site to choose new trailer springs. I put the springs on and the first bump I hit took out my fender because the springs flattened out. I contacted etrailer for help, they couldn't help so I asked if I could get a refund. There was no reply on refund! I'm still trying to get an answer as to why.
I imputed my vehicle make and model and was sent a wiring harness for a completely different vehicle. Now my car is stuck at the shop while I get a replacement elsewhere because etrailer wasn't willing to do anything other than charge $16 for return postage and wanted to charge extra for overnight shipping. I used to be able to recommend this place but not anymore!
Based on the reply it's obvious the instructions I was sent with the part were woefully wrong and inadequate. The "expert" help just sent my a copy and paste without actually answering my question.
Yes, I know lengthening or shortening the unit is how I make adjustments but no one has answered as what the steps are to perform this task. So in the end I still
Have a right pull and still don't have the step by step in order to change the length
Of the unit after it's installed.
I bought their "1000Lb" prop for my motorcycle trailer. This is the folding telescopic piece that supports the front (tongue) of the trailer when it's not on the ball hitch. It lasted 3 months. Failed laterally when on a slight off camber surface and me standing on the tongue. Hardly 1000lb. Look at the pics. Probably made from melted down coat hangers? E-trailer will not refund my money. I sent them pictures. I bought it direct from them. They offered to give me a replacement if I send them back the old one. Pics not good enough for them. I don't want another one... THE PART IS CHINESE JUNK. Shame on me for trusting their website/promises...stick with CURT brand or other reputable. The customer service guy was polite... shame to have to rep a company selling this junk
Sent wrong parts but looks like its being resolved. Have done business with them before with success
Should have been a quick 30 minute install, or 15 minutes for a professional install, according to website and printed install documents provided with shipping. When I brought the hitch to U-Haul for a professional install (since I didn't have a torque wrench, which is required), it took them over 2 hours to install, because the hitch bar/frame (the long horizontal piece) was bent in and would not fit onto the vehicle frame. They spent a long time unbending it, which I viewed on camera so I know they were not making it up. When the package arrived, the box was a little scuffed up, but the black paint was all intact and not scratched, so I believe it must have been bent in the factory or during production rather than damaged in transit. I contacted Etrailer.com about this and they took no responsibility and were of no help. They denied that it was their fault and said that the pre-bend is actually a feature of the hitch receiver, and having to un-bend is normal. However, they never tell you about this before the purchase is made or in the provided install paperwork, so it is not logical how anyone besides a trailer/hitch professional would know this. Anyway, spend a few extra bucks elsewhere to avoid problems with these guys. Stay away!
I purchased a flat-tow kit and accessories from etrailer. They were shipped right away which was very helpful because I was planning a trip and needed to get the kit installed immediately after arrival. I checked with the installer prior to the merchandise arriving and found that the wiring kit was wrong. I had to order a different kit, from the installer, to meet my timeframe and they charged me $165 to return the merchandise. I would recommend going to the dealer direct if you're not going to do it yourself.
VERY UNHAPPY!
First - The Reese pinbox came without installation hardware or directions. The hardware took a month for them to replace and again came without directions.
Second - The Reese pinbox DOES NOT have the air valve as pictured on the websites. When I called I was told it was due to a parts shortage and the person I spoke to at Reese even told me that the new set-up was a dumb design.
I TOTALLY AGEE! Send me the part!
To inflate one person has to literally crawl under the pinbox, while hitched to the 5th wheel, to inflate while another watches the bar. Not easy for a 60+ year old fat man!
The valve faces OPPOSITE the side where the inflation bar is located! Plus, the valve is so close to the wall of the box (picture) you cannot install an extension hose. Just Dumb.
After follow ups with eTrailer, I were basically informed by Hannah that I have to live with it. Either that, or I could pay to ship it back. Mean while, both Reese & eTrailer are selling parts that are not as shown on the website.
NO - NOT HAPPY!
After numerous days of no item delivery, i contacted Ashley,,she was extremely rude, and condesending, shipping is bad, and they could care less.
My go-to source for towing needs. They answer questions quickly, have a wealth of information on their website and provide quick and usually free shipping. I have outfitted all of my vehicles with hitches from them for many years.
Most recently, I was finding conflicting information in customer reviews and online message boards about my model and trim. Jameson C was able to confirm which hitch I needed and I am confident it will fit.
Conner immediately answered my online question, and followed up with me on some additional questions. Although his answer isn't what we wanted to hear, it was correct. Thanks so much!
Answer: First one to pop up on google search. No other reason.
