Very expensive. Won't accept checks in payment. Want you to wire everything at your expense. They keep referring to their rating at the Better Business Bureau (which they pay for) when their business practices were challenged. Service rep failed to understand concerns. Slow to respond to concerns.
This is the first time I used Escrow.com The person who purchased my product is the one who recommended it and I found it to be the fastest way to complete a transaction with great support which I needed being new to a system. I absolutely would recommend Escrow.com to any friends that are looking to do a transaction in a sale of a product or the buying of a product. Me as the seller of my internet domain name missingpeople.net and it sailed smoothly. Thanks to the support of Ron, Reese and others that I required. This is the worst service ever - I have tried for 4 days to fund my account and I get excuse after excuse as to why they can't find the $7k that I transferred to them... Told them to send me my money back and they say oh that could take up to 14 days? To wire me my money back that you supposedly can't find? This company is the worst - I have been on hold with them now for 1 hour and still no answer - find a different company to use - save yourself the time and headache!
I was very pleased with escrow.com. They were very concerned about being careful about security both on the sellers and my side. There customer service is excellent. I am very satisfied and I am difficult.
Recently, we needed escrow services to buy a domain name. So I turned to Escrow.com. They have a great reputation, and have been around forever.
For my transaction, I decided that it would be best if we paid a little extra for Escrow. Coms Concierge service -- so that we could have a professional shepherd our transaction. It was a "peace-of-mind" thing.
Well that turned out to be a great decision.
All I had to do was to fill out a simple form, deposit my funds, and the Concierge took care of everything.
And then a few days later, I had the domain in my control.
You just cant beat that!
Sold a car to a buyer across the country. The buyer had their agent pick up the vehicle. Specified in the escrow instructions that the inspection was waived and that as soon as the bill of lading was provided to escrow.com the funds were to be released. escrow.com claims that their internal policy overrides the escrow instructions. escrow.com is instructing me to send a released title even though they claim that the buyer has not indicated to them that the buyer has accepted the vehicle. I WILL NEVER USE ESCROW.COM AGAIN.
Hi Kevin, Our service always provides a physical inspection period to the Buyer. Should the Buyer wish to waive this inspection period they can, but we cannot waive the inspection period on their behalf. I hope you understand our position that protecting all parties in the transaction has to come first.

I sent a wire transfer for a purchase and Escrow.com said they never received the payment even though my bank confirmed it was sent.
They had no ability to search for the deposit with the transaction and wire confirmation numbers and told me it could take a week for the money to be transferred. After a week of not being able to locate the money, they finally told me that they needed a receipt of the transaction. I sent the receipt, but still have not heard a response of where the money is.
Communication with the company is horrible, and I feel that our money is lost.
I would highly suggest using a different company if possible.
Terrible terrible experience. I'm told everything is complete, it will close tomorrow. Then I'm told no, 5-7 days. Then I'm told within 30 days. 2-hour long wait for "concierge" customer service for any human to answer the phone, then line disconnects. Stay away!
The escrow transaction saved me from an unscrupulous seller.
What was not good though, was the login in attempts to view the transaction. The site would not let me access the transaction without only seeing payment options. The time lag was not good either, as the other party was slow to post.
The steps were just very hard to follow and you have to go to your bank to be able to finish your steps. I don't have time to wait to get approved for every steps. But the customer service is awesome! Thank you, Alex for helping me!
Kana was very helpful and patience, she walked me thru on how to correct and split the fees between me and the buyer and I am very thankful with that.
It was a nightmare. We tried to use the to sell a domain. It took the over two weeks to confirm that they have the funds submitted by the buyer and they almost jeopardized the whole transaction. The customer support is useless. I suspect that the positive reviews are written by staff or sth - the distribution is not statistically normal.

Service is good. I requested the buyer to add the concierge service for my sake as I felt safer with the domain being held by a 3rd party. But I can say that the email should have been clear regarding the transfer instructions of the domain. Overall good work.
I cant believe people actually give these guys money. This has to be the worst service i have ever used in buying a domain. I still dont have it and its been over a week now. They are now pushing to contact the registar? Why do i even use you guys if i have to do all the work. Ready to cancel this but of course if i do they still get there money. Run if you can better services out there!
This is my second transaction with Escrow.com and I am really impressed with the process and the follow up call from the support is really great, I definitely will use Escrow.com again in my next transactions
This service sets everything up so that the buyer is the only one who can get screwed. If the seller changes their mind, escrow.com charges the buyer for it out of the escrow. There is no accountability against the seller by escrow.com, none. Once the buyer is forced to pay the amount, the only recourse is a lawsuit, which is ridiculous.
My exact situation: I bought a large priced item. I am not to release the escrow funds until I take possession. The seller wants me to release them before the product is even in my possession. I have explained the rules of the escrow that HE SETUP exactly word for word, but this dimwit doesn't want to go that route. He wants to rewrite the rules now, yet I am on the line for hundreds per his problems, not him.
I absolutely hate this company's way of screwing the buyer over.

Once the offer is accepted you can pay into the escrow account and then go to inspect the car. If everything is as expected you can release funds to the seller right there on the spot. Two quick tips: Always make sure emails about your transaction are coming from an@escrow.com email address, and make sure you log into Escrow.com to make sure you're sending funds to the correct account.
