I purchased an Epson Printer Model 2950. Two months later, it stopped working. Epson replaced it with a refurbished same model printer with a $50 deposit, which will be refunded after I send the old printer back to Epson. But Epson did not send me an email to give me the instructions on how to return the old printer, and did not refund me the $50 deposit. I submitted 4 emails to ask them to give me the instructions for the return printer with an RMA. But I received no response.
Besides, the replacement printer is also a non-working unit. The scan works, but the print doesn't.
I did not believe Epson is such a poorly managed company.
My new Epson printer quit after 3 months of lite use. It took two months of communicating with Epson customer service to receive a promise to replace my printer with a new one. Instead of receiving a new printer, Epson sent me a refurbished unit, which I expect to break down soon.
Absolutely ridiculous customer service.
I purchased an all in one printer from Amazon for my office 6 months ago. It worked fine for 6 months and then began screwing up printing color as well as black & white.
I contacted Epson (need to take time off work to do so because Epson Tech Support hours are 7AM-4PM Pacific time Monday to Friday so if you're a working stiff like me you need to take time off work to waste your time calling their absolutely useless tech support agents after having paid a lot of money for their product). This is the process you need to go through to contact tech support:
- Call and wait 20-30 minutes on hold to speak with someone. Describe the issue.Get a case number. Then hang up.
- Email them your proof of purchase, a picture of the serial number and the ink tubes that are barely visible.
- Call them back and wait another 20-30 minutes until someone answers.
- Give them your case number and wait for them to render judgement.
In my case when I called them back they said the warranty on my printer is now null and void because non Epson parts or ink was used.
This is absolutely false! Along with the printer I purchased OEM Epson ink and only used that and nothing else.
Still, Epson insisted my warranty was null and void and suggested I contact the company who sold it to me.
I called Amazon and they said there was nothing they could do about it since their 30 day return policy had expired.
I now have an $800 piece of garbage in my hands.
NEVER AGAIN EPSON. JUST CANCELLED MY PRIME MEMBERSHIP. NEVER AGAIN AMAZON AS WELL!
I haven't written a negative review in a long time...but, WOW Epson tech support is the worst! I spoke with 2 different representatives, both who had bad attitudes, and both provided incorrect tech support information. After wasting an hour talking to 2 rude individuals to attain no solution (they kept telling me what I wanted to do could not be done), I ended up resolving the issue by myself... I don't even work in IT and I could eventually figure it out. If you're going to work in IT, know what you're doing especially if it's around specific products. And if you're going to work in customer service, have a better attitude to deal with the public. Due to this bad experience I won't be supporting Epson products any longer.
ET 4800
I purchased a new Epson ET 4800 all in one printer on Amazon Jan 30 2024. I didn't to get to open box for almost a month due to my sons medical condition. I had purchased it because I had to fax papers to different hospitals to try and get my son into a cancer trial. After using product 4 times maybe the printer I received says error message Jam needed to be cleared, there was no jam I opened up top and saw their was a stem with a wheel that was out so that must have been the problem. I called amazon they told me to call epson for warranty. I called Epson who replaced it after back going and forth with them. They needed pictures of serial
Number, receipt for printer, broken part inside of printer. After I did that it was no good because is was HEIC not a Jpeg. I had to get someone to do this for me because I am not up on these things Im 76 and this stuff was over my head. I finally sent them everything and they told me to send printer back and when they received it they would send me another. I got the new one and it is a refurbished printer so I called and was told that was their policy because it was over 30 days. I didn't buy a refurbished printer because I wanted a new one I told the person plus I could have paid less. Anyway I received the refurbished one and set it up a few days later because my son was back in the hospital for another week. I set it up and Color didn't work. I called support and after a hour with tech support doing all kinds a head cleaning. She tells me to call back the next day because they are closing and the last step which we did two times will take time. Next day i check printer and I get a message saying Ink Pad is nearing the end of life. Now I call back and I'm on the phone again for 30 minutes and she tells me she has to turn me over to someone else to do a return. Now they want me to go thru the same things again pictures of serial numbers, receipt of original printer purchase, picture of printer error message to send this printer back. It just came why do I have to do all this again. I didn't even make the last payment and I'm ready to throw it in the garbage. This was my first Epson product and probably my last. Im not a rich person and now I have to buy another printer, this really sucks.
I bought an Epson lable printer -ColorWorks C7500G-for $8500 a year ago. The printer was always buggy, going through a "Head Maintenance" cycle for upwards of 30 minutes when I turned it on, wasting huge amounts of ink. I sent it in, under warranty, to Epson, and they refused to repair it under warranty AND as a paid service because I used non OEM ink. I was willing to pay to have a new printhead, and they refused. Now I'm out $8,500 with no possible way to get the printer repaired (as they won't sell parts either). I highly advise anyone to avoid Epson printers due to their horrible customer service and unimaginably belligerent repair policies.
I reached out to Epson on Tuesday with a printer spooler issue. After troubleshooting the problem for over 20 minutes, the tech could not resolve the issue. I was told that I would receive a call back by COB the same day. Well it has now been 4 days and still no call back. I reached out to my IT department and they solved the issue in literally 3 minutes. Another reason I will never purchase another Epsson product again. I will stick with Canon going forward.
Multiple false error messages, "No Paper" when paper tray is full to the max, "Offline" when connected manually. Etc, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON AN EPSON PRINTER
Epson Ink Scam
First off stay away from any printer that has a "Maintenance box" as all it does is waste your ink and money by design!
I just replaced the Magenta and Yellow ink cartridges and as the pic shows I still had some ink in the Black and Cyan cartridges before I did. After replacing the two, the printer does some "Maintenance" then tells me to replace the Cyan ink cartridge as it is now empty, so since it won't do anything unless I do, I replaced it. It does its "maintenance" again, now the black cartridge is empty and the two I just replaced are a quarter gone. Again, it forces me to replace the black cartridge, so I did, more "maintenance," now the Magenta and Yellow cartridges are half empty and the cyan cartridge is a quarter empty. Not one thing was printed yet the two cartridges I just replaced seconds earlier are half empty and the other a quarter empty.
I will never buy an Epson printer again and I will do everything I can to avoid a printer with a "maintenance box" scam built in, just call it what it is EPSON… an ink reservoir that we've designed into the machine to make you waste a lot of ink and money, but it is okay as it is for your printers benefit to flush out the printer heads and buy more overpriced ink.
It is unfortunate that so many corporations have adopted such unethical business practices all for the bottom line… Yes, capitalism breeds such small greedy minds.
This company should be sued!
Epson printers are the absolute worst. Total and complete garbage. If it lasts a year you will be lucky. What's even worse is the company does not stand by the product. If you do get a person on the phone who speaks proper english, it won't matter because they will do absolutely nothing to help you or even worse accuse of of 'not using authentic epson inks' just so they can get out of doing their job. Run fast! Turn the other way and go with a reputable company like HP.
Epson ET-5880 printer owner
"Unlmited free ink for 2 years" is not true.
Epson support: has not replied back regarding ink rebates, nor have they replied back regarding low printout quality.
I have a perfectly working Stylus Photo 2200. Can't make a single print because EPSON stopped making the ink. At my job, we have EPSON projectors. After a year or so they have a new model and a new (different bulb). Funny, the outside of the last 4 models we bought look pretty much the same, but not the bulbs. They all have little detents and notches that keep you from using you old stock bulbs in the new projectors. In my opinion this entire company is EVIL.
I never received a tracking number in my email for my recent purchase. When I called customer service, the woman was horrible! Every time I opened my mouth to speak she would talk over me. As far as deactivating or deleting my customer account with them, I can't even find a way to do it! Then she wanted to add another email address so I can get annoying emails for stuff they want to sell when I can't even get a stupid tracking number when they already have my money!
I had a wonderful and dependable Epson printer for over 10 years. It finally reached the end of its lifespan, so I went with Epson again. Has been a total nightmare! 4 different printers later, none of them would EVER connect to wifi except 1 for about 1 hour and then it quit, 1 the size of a VW bus that they said was for my home office, and 3 with various hardware failures, 8 trips to post offices or dragging heavy boxes back and forth. On hold for countless hours dealing with the continuous issues. They will not just refund my initial money and let me find a better product elsewhere. Very poor customer service. WARNING! DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE PIECES OF CRUD. I would give them 0 stars if that were possible.
I've purchased 3 of these and returned 1 so far. The connection with WiFi is unreliable and the scanner is right next to the router. In addition to unreliable connectivity (it cuts out scanning in the middle of jobs), the scanner very frequently jams causing 10-20 seconds of lost productivity in the middle of a scan job and then sometimes the scanner does not recover so you have to start the scan job all over again. The one I returned would not connect to the WiFi at all. The other one is with my bookkeeper and she isn't impressed either. I will be looking for replacements for the 2 we have for something more reliable and robust. This is a beta unit at best. I have a very busy bookkeeping and payroll business. We need to scan hundreds of receipts per day. I am a highly accredited software engineer. You can look my profile up on LinkedIn. I hold a masters degree in computer science and a bachelors in information technology. I have supported scanners and printers for over 4 decades in my career. Your product is not what it promises to be.
I am on my third Ecotank printer under warrantee. Each time they hold $170 on my credit card while I have to ship back the old one.
They have wasted so much of my time it's embarrassing. Don't Do it.
Costs a lot just to replace the ink pad. So many hoops to jump through just to even get the part replaced and then to have the counter inside reset costs even more money than the part itself. Have to read off the serial number to support just to verify if they will assist or not. Even then they refer a printer repair place that does not even have an office anymore. Clearly an incompetent company who only wants your money.
I paid nearly $500 for an Epson printer. It is terrible. It doesn't work half the time. The scanning is a non-functional. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. I have to pay a service man $100.00 to come to house each time the things goes out and he spends an hour just getting it up and running. Then in three or four weeks it goes out again. What a rip-off.
I contacted Epson that I had a print job stuck and would not print. They sent me to Ask Answers which said that for a dollar they would fix it. I gave them my cc number and then checked with my cc bank. They had charged me $55 instead of $1. I immediately closed down that cc and requested that a new one be sent to me. Then I got an email from Google that someone had tried unsuccessfully to use a Mac to get onto Google. Second time I had to close out my cc and have another one sent to me.
I am surprised that Epson even got anyone who was happy with their "service."
I loved my HP and would trade it back in a minute.
One time I tried to copy a professional photo of a man's head, it was full of streaks.
A basketball player is no real professional to trust for buying an Epson, believe me.
A disgruntled customer
Do not buy these products they suck the people don't even help you try and fix your printer. They look for any excuse to not cover the warranty. Because of me using 3rd party ink which had nothing to do with a paper jam. It just keeps saying that but the paper goes through just fine and they won't help at all. $250 out the window. They clearly don't care about customers. I hope and pray if you do buy from them you have no problems because if you do you're not going to get any help.
Answer: Epson ET-5880 printer worked great for a year and 5 months but is now failing. Epson support is not replying to ink rebate emails or warranty problem.
Answer: I have all these same problems with Epson and am still looking for the answer.
