Eharmony does not actually care about their customers, they are more concerned with lining their pockets with your money. Their formula is to prey on the hopes of hopeful singles and then rope them into a lengthy and expensive contract. Subscriptions can not be bought on a per month or trial basis. You must purchase a 6,12 or 24 month subscription to their website. Upon signing up, you are automatically enrolled into their automated subscription renewal service. This will automatically bill your credit card upon the completion of your initial subscription, without your authorization! You can not cancel your subscription at any time, as they have a zero refunds policy hidden in their fine print! You would think that a company that claims to have an interest in your personal happiness, would in fact allow you to cancel your subscription, if you do in fact happen to meet a match and find happiness on their website. Why pay hundreds of dollars for a dating/messaging website when you can join somewhere else for free? Eharmony is a cash grab!
CAUTION everyone regarding the number of fakes, scammers and players on this site. The VAST MAJORITY of my "connections" have been proven to be fake or scams. I regularly receive notifications that such have been removed from eharmony for "violating" Trust and Safety Policy. Then there are the MANY who simply do not even want to log on. Eharmony are supposed to remove after 2 months inactivity, but do not. I am NOT renewing my subscription.
My eharmony experience was horrible. You will NOT get a refund if you are unhappy with the service! I'm a gay male who lives in Calgary (metro population of almost 1.5 million) and when I signed up, I received 3 matches: 2 women and 1 obviously religious straight man (I set my settings to only meet other gay men). I immediately contacted "customer service" and received generic answers that did not address my issue. After MANY back and forth emails, their ONLY "solution" was to expand my search criteria and they denied my request for a refund. In the following 4 months I received 2 accurate (i.e., other gay men) matches that were within 200 km.
Make sure to steer clear of this particular service, as they have a sneaky hidden charge and are unwilling to terminate your membership or provide a reimbursement. It's highly advisable to avoid them at all costs.
I attempted to cancel auto-renewal months ago and for whatever reason it did not work. I only realize after I saw a charge on my credit card. I informed eharmony less than 12 hours later and asked them to refund and cancel my membership. They refused to accommodate at all. They do not care about their clients or having any resemblance of customer service. They just want your money. Do yourself a favor and use literally any other dating site rather than eharmony.
Honestly the biggest scam ever. No quality at all for the price. Joined in Oct. Already reported 3 fake profiles. Selection is limited unless you really want to travel. I tried to cancel within 12 hours, and not allowed. No 10 day contract cancelation. They take your money and run. The Customer Service is horrible, took over a month for them to delete a fake profile.
I signed up for a 12 month equal payment subscription on eHarmony.ca, and I literally emailed their customer service department less than 6 hours later to cancel. They have consistently denied my requests and no where in their Terms and Conditions "Cancelation Policy" does it state anything about Canadian Subscribers. I feel completely pissed and ripped off! I have kept all my documentation to prove to my bank that my dispute against the charges are valid. What kind of a bull$#*! company doesn't allow you to cancel after 6 hours?!
EHarmony is sleezy in how they take care of their consumers. I accidentally hit one year subscription because of the way it's layed out to almost make you do it.I emailed right away after I noticed my mistake and they refuse to bend in any way to help.
On top of all that, there is next to anyone even remotely close to my home town. This is a $400 mistake I will never make again.

I used this account briefly 2 years ago. I just discovered that they have been billing me for 2 years with no information provided and with a policy that demands payment even if the service is cancelled 1 day after the billing is made. This is predatory and harassing. If the company does not have a fair cancellation policy any services offered are not worth it.
On the website it is written that you can delete and unsubscribe if you do it within 36 hours. In reality they keep charging. It is impossible to unsubscribe and impossible to reverse impossible to negotiate. Nobody answers the phone customer service the worst in the world. Pool of candidates just a nightmare.!
E-harmony is disingenuous with their advertisement. You will never see any matches and the few people there mostly not what you want, no disrespect to them. Just steer clear from this fraudulent website. They want to keep me on a 1 year payment plan when I thought it is a monthly thing. They do not a monthly plan and you will be bored after using it for 1 hour. Den of thieves
Beware! Remove automatic renewal from your account as soon as you join. Otherwise, you will be charged a much larger amount if you use the service still or not.
It's a terrible money grab.
Boring registration includes completely personal questions and information that is provided to business partners so that they can find your interest and sell you goods!

It pretends you can have a trial period, I tried to shut it down within 24 hours and found out they charged me for an entire year…had not idea it was a Canadian site since it looks exactly like the normal one. I didn't even know two existed. When I complained they could not care less that they robbed me of nearly $400 for less than 24 hours of use. I wanted to share this so maybe I could save someone else from being robbed blind with no customer service. Good luck out there.
I'm thoroughly disappointed in this company. My husband recently passed away and my sister encouraged me to sign up with eharmony. After 20 minutes, I contacted eharmony and requested a refund and cancellation of my contract... I was definitely within the 3 day cancellation policy period.
They refused both of my requests.
Most of the matches they give you are with men who look like they're on welfare - it was a complete joke. Furthermore, 95% of the men lived over 2 hours away from me.
I contacted eharmony numerous times requesting cancellation - each time my request is denied.
I'm so disappointed in this company. Their reputation will eventually surface. I'm going to share my experience with anyone who asks or any review site I can find so others don't have to be robbed like I was.
After even brief interaction with the site, it became clear that it has very poor matching algorithms and a small dating pool of relevant candidates. Other dating sites in Canada, even without paid subscription, offer much more relevant matches, and i got a much better response rate on other sites. Importantly, most other sites, offer 1-month subscription, whereas eHarmony offers only 6 months. They probably do it because they know that nobody would come back after 1 month.
I made the mistake of getting 6 months membership because i found an article eHarmony's own website about 14-day cool-off cancellation policy. The article is highly misleading because this cool-off policy applies only to UK, but the article never mentions it.
Overall, i would not recommend getting a subscription there at all!
Absolutely horrible platform! The same matches are rotated everyday & maybe 1% are in your direct area.
Do not give them your money you will be horribly disappointed!
I signed up and the cheapest option was a full year expensive membership.I read online that they had a three days refund policy and since you can't see any of the photos on the free version I wanted to see what the platform has to offer. It turned out that the three days refund was only applicable for a few states and not in Canada. I know I didn't do my homework diligently but you would expect that they offer a trial version of some sort. After all, this is the norm in almost all membership platforms. Customer service refused to do a refund eventhough I requested it on the very first day I signed up within hours of not finding any nearby matches, not to mention almost nonexistent except for those living +200 km away! It's unfortunate how greedy e-harmony is preying on people's hope in finding a life partner to snatch almost 400$ in one go.
Hold on to your wallet! They promote a week of premium for 12$ But trick you and charge160$. I called and asked to stop their services I even deleted the app. Next year they try to charge 400$ Unauthorized don't trust them with your credit card information!

Answer: You can't get a hold of customer service at all every time you click customer service on their site it takes you to FAQs on their website. There is no phone number shown on the site to call them if you have problems. The site is the worst dating site ever, don't believe any of there commercial they are all lies.
