Doublelist

I created an account but Doublelist has greyed out my email address to prevent my emails from being sent whenever I reply to other people's ads. And it's bad enough that these paranoid people will not allow people to post phone numbers in their account as well. Does anyone have any alternative websites? There's no way those five star reviews that you see about the Doublelist site are even real. They're just as fake and soulless as their San Francisco-based site creators.

After discovering the DL site, I explored the crowd. Some are very open and follow through with what is agreed-upon. Others will get something going, schedule it, and don't show.

I find most on the site have fairly narrow age grouping, eliminating the possibility of engaging in younger/older connections. Still others not only rule out anyone over 45, but are not open to cyber play.

Those few who are completely open to all have been enjoyable to connect with, and enjoy. So much pleasure is missed when limitations are placed. Then, again, I understand people like what they like. For me, it's all about complete variety.

I use the site and find it successful. Just don't be crude / rude on your first posting - get the point across and wait for a response. Then send that person (direct to their email not a DL server interface) whatever pics and desires you have. I think they are being cautious / smart about not getting into trouble. If you cannot post then reply to a posted ad - I've had success with both, although it took me a few tries to understand what words I can and cannot use when posting.
It's better now than a few months ago - more users.

I came across doublelist after reading an ad who recommend doublelist. Since all post from Craigslist has been flagged, I decided to go Doublelist to give it a try. At the beginning my two post were flagged after following the community guidelines
I sent an email to DL customer service and asked for explanation. Since then I have posted ads even with x- rate pictures ( I didn't get flagged). After 3 weeks, I met a cute guy and have sex in a hotel.
I spoke with numerous guys, they said gays pretend to be women at first while chatting online. As soon they set a date to meet, they reveal are men. I assure doublelist is legit, not perfect though. There are a lot flakes, bots, weird people as well.

This is the dating site, the site for quick hook-ups.
Here are grown adults who want to $#*! or get $#*!ed.
However, there are a lot of restrictions on our ads.
Practically, innocent words that are used in everyday people's lives cause "violations" from our side.
And users are forced to make up new "words". Well, provide an acceptable dictionary.
At the same time, for some reason, a different approaches to pictures and photos.
Please let them use any picture- we do not want to waste time asking for them anyway later.
The search is very limited - no age, no distance from me, and no sexual preferences.
This way, the Craigslist list was more convenient and I was getting a lot of dates there.

Pros: Great website/idea for those who are not tech-savvy and won't know how to work an app.
Easy to set up. Just add your email and you are ready to go.
Simple user interface w/o annoying ads on the sides (except for one that pops up on a different tab).

Cons: You can't sort messages by age.
It would be awesome if it had a chat room!
The best option for an anon message board.
It needs more outreach. Most people I know don't know about the website.
It needs a better support/comments dept on its Twitter account for when a user has a problem/comment. I had posted several questions with no response.

Not enough regions resulting in excessive posts that are nowhere near you. Jersey for example. Regions are north and south only. So you get tons of posts from people that a normal person would view as central (even northern). Also, tons of duplicate posts (with a word or 2 changed). No way to report posts except in generic categories that don't seem to result in any action.

So, it works (barely) but it's begging for another competitor to come in with real oversight.

Also, they keep threatening to make it a pay site. Go ahead and watch it dry up for good.

For the owners of sitejabber... Proof of purchase? It's a free site, why threaten to not post the review if I don't provide proof of purchase? Does anyone care about quality any more

This is a fake site that sets up its own fake ads for local areas.

How do I know? Recently, they put in a requirement to verify your phone number to post ads. Yet only those in North America can actually do this.

In spite of this, people are still posting locally in Australia, and that is just not possible with their current setup.

They shot themselves in the foot there.

More importantly, they insist that you can't use anything suggestive or nude photos, yet they will always open a porn page (obvious scam) for hookups.

If you have had any success, it's purely incidental. This is not a safe website.
