They do not update their site if a product is out of stock, and once you add it to your cart and pay for it, and only later when get an email days later letting you know that it's OOS. Well, I went on their site and the same item is available for purchase with no info that it's actually not available until 2 weeks. Scam. Why don't they update their website with accurate stock info?
Also it took over 2 weeks for me to get any info on when the product will be available, so in grand total it will take over a month to get my order!
On my way to becoming addicted Great selection of niche brands. Love being able to shop from Dermstore and Hair Envy with one cart. I received personal thank you notes the first couple of times I shopped here which was a really nice touch. They have also enticed me to subscribe to their monthly “Mystery Box” which no one else has been able to do. This has proven to be a great value to date. One issue I have is the occasional issue with site performance. I have had two issues recently when shopping from more than one site that I ended up losing my cart although I was logged. Had to delete my cache and start over which is never a good time. Obviously this has not deterred me from shopping with them. Oh, and they love a GWP which is always a good thing!
I used to use them until they started sending me duplicate marketing emails almost everyday. I replied to each and everyone of them explaining that they are sending 2 emails to the exact address, 3 minutes apart, but still they come. It's frustrating that you use a site in good faith but then they bombard you with marketing but have poor administration. Could you imagine CVS or Ulta locking you in their store so that they could explain what's on sale and then you have to shovel their flyers to get out of the store. I'm tired of Derm Store flooding my mail box
I ordered the sun care kit which promised a full size EltaMD sunscreen along with a variety of sample size sunscreens. When the kit arrived, a trial size EltaMD sunscreen was substituted. The company apparently realized their mistake and sent out an email saying they would ship the full size product as soon as possible. That was two months ago. I messaged with a variety of customer service employees, with absolutely no resolution. Clearly they have a problem with their customer service since they won't give a phone number to call and have an actual conversation with a customer. I will never shop here again.
I have bought from them for a long time - repeat customer so when I bought my EXPENSIVE obaji vit c serum and then the very next day it went on sale I called for a price adjustment. They would not give it to me. Then they lost my package. It took almost a month for them to replace it….going elsewhere from here on out.
Ordering from DermStore was an awesome experience. I was able to find the product I needed quickly and checkout was easy and painless. My order came fast, was packaged nicely, and had a bonus free gift which was actually something I'd use! I will definitely order from DermStore again for future skincare/beauty/hair products.
Do NOT order from this store; they are incompetent and rude. My recent order with Dermstore was cancelled without my knowledge and without notifying me. I spend $1200-$1500 per year with them; more in the past few years and was surprised when I called them and I was told there was a mix up 4 years ago; their records indicated I returned some product, received my credit, but they never received the product back. Or so their records showed. I was essentially called a liar and a thief. After some discussion, and 45 minutes later, I got through to a supervisor, I was then told this was an error, she apologized profusely, but the damage has been done. Never again.
My partner and I have been frequent customers of Dermstore, drawn by the affordability of their products. However, our recent experience was marred by a glitch in their online system. Despite having my address preset in their system through my account, a product I ordered was sent to another address. When I requested a resend to the correct address, I was informed that they don't resend items for incorrect addresses. This was particularly frustrating, as accounts are created with the expectation of facilitating secure and efficient transactions. Unfortunately, in this instance, the system glitch led to a significant financial loss for me, and I am disappointed that Dermstore did not take responsibility for the issue. We won't be purchasing further product through their site. If you do, I strongly recommend contacting them after your order to confirm the order and order details as their skincare lines they sell are expensive.
I placed a $540 order and received no tracking until I contacted customer service a week later. I found shipping to be extremely slow. Next order I received tracking in a reasonable time, however 2 weeks later no package or updated tracking. I contacted customer chat--after an excruciatingly long wait they provided the same tracking with no answer as to where the package was; offered a replacement via standard shipping. Good customer service would expedite a replacement at this point. Just ridiculous.
I placed an order on recommendation of a product from a friend. My credit card was charged two different amounts one of which was $137.00 over my order. When calling customer service they said that is so we can confirm funds... what? Customer service continued to interrupt me when I was explaining my concern, and the attitude from customer service was not appreciated. Then to top it off I received my order and one of the items was missing even though the 'total pieces' said 6.
This was my first time ordering from this website and I wish I had read the reviews here first. I ordered a sunscreen that I had an immediate reaction to and followed their "Easy Return" policy steps to the letter. The returned package was received almost a month ago, after I paid for the shipping back to them, and I have still not received my refund. I have sent emails to their Customer Service address and have received zero responses back. Based on reviews here, it seems that calling the Customer Service number will be a negative experience, as well. I don't anticipate ever using this website again and will share my poor experience with others as a cautionary tale.
I have ordered from Dermstore several times and they are ALWAYS late. I pay for express shipping! So unethical. Seeing other reviews I realize I am not alone. There are better ways to shop for skincare and I will NEVER order from them again. Lost a big spending customer
Was very disappointed. Was promised free shipping - ended up being billed $12.95. They never responded to my complaint about this. The products sent were fine, but I was pretty mad that they advertise free shipping, then charged me, THEN ignored my complaint. Will never shop there again.
Break out your calculator and review the order pricing especially if you're using discount codes. The Black Friday discount in my cart and checkout before entering my credit card info was not applied. Long story short they tried to charge me more than the cost according to the order summary breakdown. Also, if you make a return they don't credit back your credit card … they give you a store credit that will expire if you forget about it and don't use it.
I ordered a gift for my sister and she did not receive it on time! The reason: they put all orders on hold for review that have a billing and shipping address over 1000 miles apart to avoid fraud. This was a gift and it was very clear this was a gift. I checked the gift box option. I'm really disappointed as I had to ask my sister if she received her gift. Only after I asked her, I searched my email and saw the company sent me an email telling me to contact them. Not a good customer experience.
This was my first time placing an order with Dermstore. My order said it was completed online, only to discover that it had not arrived. I reached out to the help line, and they insisted that I gave their company the wrong address, and this was my fault. They refused to replace or refund me for the very expensive skin care products that I was so excited to try. I would absolutely RUN from this company. Get your products elsewhere as they are not customer focused and will not help you. It's so sad that this company is so money hungry that they will not replace or refund an order based on their mistake.
There are so many more websites and brick & mortar options out there that actually value customers and understand customer service, PLEASE do not waste your time or money at this place. You will regret it.
Free shipping is ok, but when you order something on 12/23 and don't receive it until 1/7, then the free shipping isn't worth it. I wish I had the option to pay a few dollars for at least USPS Priority considering my order originated from Fed Ex and ended up being actually delivered by the post office. There are plenty of other skin stores with just as competitive prices and MUCH faster shipping! If you order here, hopefully it's not something you need quickly!
I bought a Micellar Water, and the bottle arrived empty, the customer service is terrible, they said, they´re going to send another one and,... The bottle of micellar water arrived three weeks before.
I bought two things the other one arrived in good condition.

Wow! I started using Dermstore over a decade ago! They used to be great.
Recently I returned product A. The lady was helpful and no issues.
Then I returned an Expired product B they recently sent me.
I have not received my credit yet for product B so I called again, just like I always.
My account shows it was received.
The customer service rep told me that they never receive product A, and since Product A was more then B they will not credit me for the expired product!
