Its not safe...the Sellers ar allowed to do creative pic taking and call tings Like New and even Brand New, which are options for them and then when you get it, its not. The Sellers dont have to respond and you can get a refund, with you paying upfront to ship back to Seller and then later get refunded, but first you have to fill out a Dispute with depop and submit pics, proving to them what your Seller did and what was actually mailed to you...its a hassel and I believe depop has it set up that way for thir Sellers benefit and thats why so many of them on there do what they do. I bought from 10 different Sellers, clothing items...over half were lied about by the Sellers and creative pics were done for the listings. Depop knows whats happening, they set the system up for their Sellers
So every other purchase of about 8 things, the Seller just simply lied about the conditions of item. Creative pic taking and they get ya to buy it, only to get it and find out...they just outright lied. I returned 2 of the items, you have to pay for upfront postage to get it back to lying Seller, than when you find out from USPS delivered to Seller you have to contact Depop again for refund of item and postage you paid to get it back to Seller, also you must present proof to Depop with postage receipt first...no more shopping on there for me and I had listed recently about 10 items to sell... deleted all of them, don't want to sell on a site that allows what their allowing. It's the wild West on there... don't shop on there, it's bad
Not happy with a couple of issues. They took down a listing for a pate spreader under the 'bladed weapons' rule; there's no point or sharp edge on a rounded pate spreader! Worse is that I've just been permanently banned for offering to set up a new listing for a buyer who wanted me to split a bulk order for them. This is actually Depop's stated process! Apparently asking which payment method they wanted was seen as trying to conduct a sale off Depop!
I am not sure what is worse, the scammers on this site or the horrible customer service...or lack thereof...bought an item from a seller in the US...it was shipped from China to OH while I live in CA. Depop won't do anything because it was shipped/in transit.
Obviously they can't take the time to click on the tracking because either they are too lazy or does not know how/never been trained.
Well, took a month from China to ship a knock off/fake to the scammer's address on the other side of the states.
I'm a new user. Never sold clothes online before. I posted some shoes. And then get banned with no reason and no notice. Customer service won't tell you anything or help you. They just say "final correspondence".
Seller sold me faulty goods, Trainers with broken fastenings. Depop wouldn't even organise a return saying item was as described. Despite many attempts to rectify this and appeal Depop continued to be unhelpfull and unsupportive. Rubbish customer service and buyer protection is worthless. Stick to eBay and Vinted. Depop sucks..
I had my account suspended from Depop after 700 sales with no complaints from customers. They claim I was selling a counterfeit handbag even though I have proof that's it's genuine and authentic. I tried to appeal & sent evidence through. I was told that the suspension stays. I'm disgusted at Depop. DO NOT use Depop for buying or selling. This company is on a crash course for failure. You are guilty in their eyes even though you have done nothing wrong. It's total madness! Who treats people that are earning money for them like this? No decent company, that's for sure. Even if they reinstated my account, I wouldn't give them another cent. After reading hundreds of reviews, they "stink" & you're better off not being on this bizarre evil little platform. Whoever makes their business decisions must be out to sabotage the business 😂 As it's going to fail...very soon.
Awful service - please save yourself and use other platforms such as Vestiaire and Vinted. It is not worth the risk - the company provides no protection for it's customers. I paid a significant amount for an item - the item was marked as delivered by Evri including a proof of postage image of a parcel in front of a letterbox saying it had been posted (notably, my settings do not deem letterbox postage to be safe). The parcel was not on the inside when I arrived. As the courier had said the item had been delivered, they said they can offer me no compensation (as if the couriers word is without a doubt true). There is no formal complaints process and their customer service gave generic responses despite me trying several times to pursue an appeal. AVOID. I have been a loyal customer for years in both selling and buying, and have never raised any issues.
The customer / seller support contact does not work. I have gone through the zen desk help link and get no replies when I am asking for the help of depop fix an urgent issue. It has been 4 days and probably about 15 emails that have been ignored. So not sell or buy on this platform. Since buyer support does not exist it is a perfect place for scammers.
Sellers do not use this app to sell your products this is the worst of worst. I had my account suspended for reason that I don't understand and this is my only source of income I'm giving this app a 0 star rating.I will make sure to see where else I give them a bad review. Thanks for nothing
This site is a paradise for scammers. They contact new sellers pretending to be Depop and ask to provide your email address. After that you gonna receive email that your item was sold and you need to provide your bank details. Simple combination. The worst thing is Depop does not do anything about it and as a seller you have zero protection. These dodgy people operating inside the app! So If you are not experienced enough you will be easily scammed.
I am a 17 year old student who is trying to make money on the side. I've bought many times from depop and thought this was a safe and secure app that i could trust. I was very WRONG. After my first few sales i was able to successfully receive my money and thought this was going good. Around the beginning of august this year depop kept moving the date of my "payout", this continued for about a week. On monday august 12th depop had suspended my account for no reason at all. Keep in mind i had 5 starts and around 25-30 sales so far. At this point i was freaking out because depop owed me $400+ dollars and now my account had been suspended WITH my funds remaining in it. I emailed depop right away asking what i did wrong and they got back to me without any reasoning saying they will not be "releasing my funds" and now my account with permanently banned, again with no reason at all. After i tell them that withholding funds is very illegal they proceeded to tell me that this is their "last email from them" and that they won't be speaking to me no longer unless it's with a "legal team". At this time i have been trying to do everything in my power as a 17 year old to retrieve the funds i am owed. Take this as a sign to delete depop!

Scam sellers are allowed to take money and never send the sold item. Report them and leavinf neg feedback does nothing! They're still allowed to sell. Stay away from sellers sophandella from the uk. Absolutely will not send anything and just take your money
I have been unable to send messages on Depop for weeks.
I have tried from various browsers.
I have been waiting 3 weeks for a pair of shoes to arrive and have not been able to contact the seller about this.
The website is extremely glitchy, and even sent messages to the wrong people when I did send messages. Other sellers have said the same.
There is also no information on the website about how to get in touch with support, I have only just managed to find an email address through the facebook page. When I sent an email to it, I received an email to say that I should resubmit my message in a request form. I filled out the request form with all the relevant details, and surprise surprise, it won't send! It just keeps refreshing the form with all the details still there.
When I tried to report that I had not received the items, it simply told me that I should go through Pay Pal to do this, which I have now done.
But basically, there is no way that I have been able to report on Depop that the item never arrived...
There is no proof of sending required from the seller. How do I know that she sent the items? How do I know that this hasn't happened to other buyers if I cannot even report it?
She has also not even marked the items as having been sent.
It appears that there is no way of ensuring honest transactions on the website and a fall back on pay pal to simply refund the money.
The sellers are a hit or miss, as with all humans and it has nothing to do with Depop as a company. As a company though, they lack integrity and moral. They never helped with disputes because they claimed "it is paypal's buyer protection that you must go after" and after i started selling a few items, they would take down listings for false reasons or no reasons at all. Even after fixing said listings to comply with the "rules that were broken", it was still taken down. They then banned my account because someone wanted to make an out of app payment and i refused. As a seller, depop takes a ridiculous cut ON TOP of paypal fees. This isn't a problem at all but it is when you take our hard earned money and then ban sellers for no reason. I am Boycotting depop.
The item I bought on Depop looked perfect on the seller's pics, but in reality I got low quality fake absolutely not corresponding with the pics, for $550+taxes and fees. Please be aware, that there is no such thing as Depop buyer protection - they just completely ignored my claim.
Please never sell on this app. They took my money from my sales and never gave it to me. They say the bank account that I use daily isn't real. There's no help center available when you click the button. Then you are stuck only using the money only on depop, which seems like a scam to me. I've tried contacting them with absolutely no luck on resolving issues this issue. I've seen numerous people saying the same thing.
Never had a bad experience with depop. Make sure you always pay via paypal to be covered with buyer protection, and check reviews to see if they're reliable. But from what i've bought it's always been amazing. Would highly recommend. I've always been given positive reviews as a seller and always give a review to people i buy off and sell too. Love this sight
Depop have closed my successful selling account for no reason that they can tell me. Many months of faultless sales & happy customers, 100% positive feedback, many hundreds of followers all count for nothing if one of their customer service teams believes you have breached their Tc&Cs - but they won't tell me what I've done, or when. That is if they bother to reply to my messages at all, which they don't.
Bloody shocking customer service.
Stay away at all costs. They have stolen hundreds from me. They hide behind technicalities and offer no seller protection whatsoever. Additionally, no way to get a hold of a live person to address concerns. Lost a lot of money with these guys. Stick with Ebay

Rubbish and rude customer service, and the people buying off you will try to scam you by lieing to Depop and PayPal saying they never received the item. But when you track the tracking number they've signed for the item themselves!
Answer: An apparent availability of items that were not available elsewhere. Turns out that the reason that they were available is that they were fakes and frauds.
Answer: It might be a scam honestly, i would say open a dispute with them. Mercari is a lot better btw, way cheaper. Mercari also holds the money until your item is delivered and you inspect and review the item.

Jerks banned my account and I've never had any bad reviews and nothing but positive sales but they will continue to allow scammers to steal your stuff and still haven't seen any of my payments from items I sold since they stopped my account. They said today I should get my money by 7/9/2023 it's 9/6/2023. So apparently they don't even know what month we are in right now. Idiots
