Worst customer service
February 1, 2021

I'm a seller and have been for nearly a year now, recently i had a buyer claim their item wasn't as described, although it was a custom request and it was what they asked for. There is little to no seller protection at all! They swiped money from my bank account to refund this buyer without listening to my side of the story. Will take the buyers side every time even when what the buyer has said isn't true. Honestly disappointed.

Platform for broke$$ kids

This is kind a website were teenager will make u loose time with maker many offers, once u accept they never pay...seems like they dont understand money is time, and for now i only did loose...Grailed and Poshmark dont mess up with offer, when you accept an offer the client (teen) will be automaticly charged thru is paypal...so if some geek designer from Depop is reading...change it now! Should be DEPOCHE

Depop sucks

Depop takes down user's accounts for no reason and the support is very problematic. Depop doesn't care about in app bullying as I've reported countless situations and Depop didn't take any action or even email me back on my reports, but they'd email me false accusations about conduct on my account. Don't bothering trusting AppStore reviews about Depop as they delete any honest reviews that effect their ratings.

Holding my money!

Very disappointed I've shopped on this store many of times no problem. But now I have a problem I'm trying to sell stuff and it's holding my money even after I gave them their tracking numbers. After I've emailed them plenty of times to fix it and they won't even respond back it's like I'm wasting and giving my stuff to people for free and not getting my money terrible you really need to fix this.

I've been selling on multiple other apps as well as Depop for years now, and Depop is the only app that doesn't seem to care about their sellers or buyers! The sellers that scam never get suspended, and the buyers who get scammed can never get a contact from depop since they have no direct in app payment system. Everything is done through PayPal and they don't seem to take any responsibility of anything that happens on the app.

They say they don't allow drop shipping but yet they give verified badges to drop shippers sourcing all their products from china.

People get suspended out of the blue for no reason, and cannot contact Depop for any assistance.

Lastly, please listen to the people that are dedicated to your platform. The majority of users are simply asking that you implement new, useful changes that prevent spam, abuse, etc along with fixing the current algorithm

Do yourself a favor by shopping somwewhere else. Seller never mailed item. Had to file claim with PayPal. Took 2 months to receive refund. After I gave seller a bad review, she gave me a bad review when I never even did anything wrong. Emailed Depop many times, NEVER got any help. All they do is reply to your emails with standard messages that have nothing to do with your concerns. Stay away from this app!

I simply love it

Buying on Depop is really nice because you can buy things that are new OR already used, you contact the seller through instant message on the app itself, and basically you can ask them more details about the product or even more pictures of it.

Most of the sellers have reasonable prices and they are usually very friendly.

BUT be careful of who you are buying with: check if they have lots of positive reviews.

I bought a signed Topp Dogg album with a girl and honestly I'm so happy, the product was in good conditions ect. And it's because I was careful about who the seller was (I checked all of her reviews) and also asked her a lot about the product!

Horrible sellers

I recently used depop and ordered 6 items 2 never shipped and 1 was severely misrepresented. I got the first refund on one of the items never shipped and the other case is still pending on paypal cause the seller hasn't responded go figure. The shirt that was misrepresented luckily I used paypal cause they let me send back but I had to pay return shipping. No other site would make the buyer pay the return shipping on a misrepresented item. STAY AWAY from depop

DONT SELL ON DEPOP!

I was selling on depop for not even a year and it was going good till i got banned because of a buyer that had bought from me some months ago and even rated me 5 stars after that depop banned me and kept my almost $900 dollar payment and won't pay me it at all after shipping all my items. PLEASE don't waste your time on this app they can easily ban you for anything and always take the buyers side

I'm a seller and had over 100 five star reviews on depop from buyers. They had removed my account permanently and say I can never make a new one because my account was linked to one that got suspended. I had no idea what this was about. But now they haven't replied to my emails asking and explaining what account. I have only had one depop and none of my friends have been suspended.

They also do not charge 10% fees as it states. Comes to 14%. Borderline scamming here depop?

Stole payment
October 4, 2020

Ordered a bag worth $70 on May 2020. Never received it. Followed up and kept saying they already shipped it. And Depop kept saying a promised tracking number thru email which it never did. Paypal doesnt want to credit me as well as Depop. This is a con company who steals your money. Never again. They should be reported to the highest goverment consumer department.

Full of scammers please avoid at all costs. I contacted the support team and they offer no support. They do not read your emails and send standard responses they have copied and pasted and seem happy to support a scammer over and above genuine people. Do not use this app.

I have tried twice to purchase clothing on that site. First time after I paid a seller stated they can't ship to USA but would not refund me. Second time a different seller stated he shipped the item to me and it was supposedly was delivered but he cannot provide tracking number. He also states he shipped a different item than what I purchased. And he states he was not paid via PayPal which is where I sent payment. He is demanding I send him a direct payment again. PayPal says I need to file dispute with Depop. Depop says I cant file a dispute with them. What a joke.

I have been on depop for a few years and set up my small jewellery business back in 2021. They have now however emailed me to say that a listing is on their prohibited list which out of all honesty I didn't realise it came under this. I have had 1 email to say about that this listing has been removed and that they are closing my account. I have had no other issues with depop and they have said there has been previous correspondence about this listing when there hasn't? Otherwise I would have removed it. Absolutely disgusted by how this has been handled… I had just filled out a feedback survey to say how amazing they have been with dealing with previous issues with other users scamming me. However now I feel like that isn't the case and they have taken measures to close my account after one message about taking down a listing. Think this is highly unfair. Would not recommend this app.

Full of counterfeit items, yet Depop does little to remove these items and users. Some of which have been on the platform for sale for over a year. Depop also doesn't reply to any complaint emails, and on the rare occasion they do, they are very rude and unhelpful!

ZERO buyer protection!

Let me tell you why you should NEVER use Depop.
If you've ever gotten a defective item on EBay, Mercari, Poshmark, you know that all you have to do is open a case and send a photo. Days later they send you a return label. Easy.
Not Depop! Their app will claim to protect you, but when you get a defective dress in the wrong size, and you go to report it, it tells you that they don't get involved, and you need to contact PayPal. What? Incredibly lazy and irresponsible. They're saying that they offer a marketplace and that's it. You buy, you get a bad item, not their concern.
If that alone isn't enough to make you download Mercari, Poshmark, Thred Up, Vinted, or Curtsy and delete Depop, check out all of the counterfeit items that they never take down. Don't risk it. Delete Depop. They don't care about their customers.

Horrible toxic platform

I was selling on depop for a long time and i got banned for "abusive behavior" but i never ever was "abusive" maybe slightly rude but only to those that were rude first. People price things so crazy, scalp stuff, keyword stuff, and there's a lot of rude people on there that think they're entitled. People also literally sell baby clothes on there and drugs. I got my first vape on depop (im now straight edge). There are some sweet, kind, and creative people on there but just realize the audience on there is twitter/tiktok teens and it's built like instagram.

Anytime I have had any issues with depop they are no help. They don't have a number you can call and their email customer service is a joke. I emailed them asking a question and they emailed back saying they weren't accepting emails and that i had to fill out this generic form online that didn't even list my issue. Whoever works customer service I hope you know you suck. Do NOT recommend

My daughter used this site to buy from a seller. Product did not arrive, she tried to resolve with the seller, however was told by the seller that she had no responsibility after posting the item, she did not provide refunds and did nothing to resolve the issue. Depop did not do anything apart from side with the seller and removed my daughter review. Buyer beware, these are private sellers, and you appear to have no rights as a customer. If you do not receive your goods the only recourse is to claim via paypal (if you have used it), if the goods are not of the nature or substance expected and they seller has stated no refunds you appear to have nowhere to go based on our experience

The pennies you'll make reselling things on Depop are not worth the time and stress.

In almost a year using the app I had all sorts of bad experiences, including being harassed three times in my inbox by a weirdo asking me for pictures of myself wearing a specific jacket. These happened a few months apart, showing they have no control over people who are banned returning to the app.

But the last drop was a sale in which I sent the parcel with tracking number, the buyer wasn't home to receive the delivery and it sat at the post office for 2 weeks. I warned her she needed to pick it up otherwise it would be returned to me, and so it happened. She blamed me (?) and I reached out to Depop to mediate.
I gave her a refund on the item but kept the shipping fee because, you know, I actually paid to have it shipped to her, and the post returns the parcel but doesn't refund the fee.
However, mindless Depop support keeps regurgitating the same standard "buyer-always-right" response saying I should give her a full refund. So basically, even though I did everything right I'm supposed to take a loss out of buyer negligence.

In sum, they provide very little support to sellers while taking big cuts, including on shipping. It's impossible to get eyes on your listing without boosting it, so be prepared to pay them twice as much as they advertise.
Maybe you'll have a better experience if you're reselling luxury items, otherwise I wouldn't bother.
