Edit for update: I did receive my money today, July 24,2023. Thank you Decluttr and Trustpilot review page. Though delayed, I am happy to have received the stated amount! Thank you once again, and hope your system works better, and other customers doesn't feel what I went through during this process. Best wishes!
First message: There is no way that you can contact a human via phone. They take lot of time to reply through email. They say their app or online account doesn't work, so the updates aren't what it should be. They say that they paid me for my device 5 business days back, but I have not received it yet. They haven't given me any confirmation of their payment. It's been over 3 weeks since I started the deal with them, they received my device on 10th July, 2023. I had to send emails everyday to get any response. I was not updated as soon as they received my device, nor when they paid me. Today, the 19th July 2013, still no actual payment in hand, though they say they paid me last week. Meanwhile, I sold 3 other devices online with other companies, and got paid for all of them within a week. Seems like a bogus company to me.
I sent an iPad Air that I bought last year and still in excellent condition because I never, ever used it. I packaged it up very carefully in several layers of bubble wrap and in a study box. Upon inspection, they said that the iPad was bent and could not be used, and revised my offer down to $66.00. This seems to be in line with what other reviewers have said. I demanded that they provide me with the IMEI number of the iPad that they claim is bent so I can compare it to my records. I am also contacting the Georgia Attorney General's consumer protection division because this really seems like its a scam.
Edited 9/10: I sent the same iPad to Gazelle and downgraded the condition from "excellent" to "good" on purpose. Gazelle received the iPad and UPGRADED the condition to excellent on their own and sent me $337 the same day as their inspection. I'm REALLY convinced Decluttr is running a fraudulent operation now!
I sent an iPad Pro 11- inch Wi-Fi + Cellular 256GB to them along with original box and charger, in perfect condition, unlocked, and working after receiving an offer of $400+. About a week later I received an email from them stating that the pad would not power up or work lowering their offer to $41. I rejected same and elected to have them ship everything back to me. They acknowledged my rejection. It took them from December 8th, 21 until today February 8th before it arrived at my office. I immediately opened the box and the iPad was working and charging perfectly.
What a scam!
They just took my stuff and NEVER paid me. Its been months of reaching put and trying to resolve the issue and they wont give me my money or my items. They also lost items from the package I sent them in the first place. Absolutely do NOT use them. Easier to sell with Vinted, Pangobooks, ebay, etc. Their service team did not care at all about me and the company stole all of the items I sent them and never sent any compensation, also they assure me they did.
I sold my galaxy watch active 2 with it's fully functional charger, I made sure to secure the package so everything arrives in perfect condition. I got a revised offer saying that my charger was defective or wasn't included when I sent it fully functional. I off course rejected the new offer knowing that my charger and watch where fully functional. I just got my watch back with no charger and the wrist bad detached. They didn't even took the time to reattach the wrist band and the watch has some sticky glue on the sides.
I contacted them about 3 times more to find out if they were going to send my charger back however I always got the same answer "Hello Abraham. Thank you for your email. I have sent a request for the warehouse to locate the charger that was sent with the order. Kindly note it takes 5-7 business days for delivery once the order has been dispatched."
The last time I contacted them they didn't send any response and month later I still don't have my charger.
I gave used them three or four times and each one of them was a rip-off shame on me...made an offer got 10 cents on the dollar when I was all said and done...shame on me!
I sent in a bunch of stuff, they said my PS2 had "excessive noise" and my 3ds was worn. Yeah right. These were barely used and in the original boxes. They just make up what they want to pay you. Wont do it again. Beware.
I sent in two phones and on the initial offer, they were the highest to purchase my iPhone 8 and Samsung S20 Ultra. However when they received the phones, they stated something was wrong with the devices even though they were brand new... so I declined their low ball offer price after the items arrived. When they mailed the phones back, they were both scratched on the front glass. Please please do NOT use this company. Use uptradeit.com or someone else. These people are horrible!
They are crooks. I am not mad because I didn't get the price I wanted for my item. They STOLE my perfect Samsung Flip Phone 3. They received my item. It was signed for by Kelsey. It is a long story. They said it was lost, they said they paid me. They said I placed 2 orders. I proved them wrong with bank records and screenshots. I reported them to the BBB and have a open case with the Cobb County Police. Please call *******143. Case#******* if you had a similar problem or DM me.
Web site says they pay for devices 2 hours after receiving and inspecting them. It has been almost a month and nothing. Email support to ask for an update, and they have a "backlog". Funny they didn't have a backlog on rejecting the items that weren't useable.
I sent my DVD's and games in and never received payment, I have submitted all of my banking info and still have not received payment. They claim my account number was wrong and will not send the money until they get a bounce back from whatever account they originally sent payment to. We are going on 2 months now. I have requested them to send my products back. Waiting to hear.
They say that the devices are insured for damage during transit; however there is no way to claim insurance unless you can prove that- which I don't know how. I exchanged multiple emails with them - they were respectful but I felt like they dodged responsibility and wouldn't address the damage to the device caused during back and forth. I sent them my iPhone with no damage, came back to me with back glass broken... and now I am left with a device that I can't sell to another service.
Sent 5 phones, 2 we're older, but in excellent condition. They changed the price quoted from $25 to $2.50. They said the cameras didn't work on them. That was false, they work before I sent them and after they returned them they worked. The other 3 we're much newer. I was told they were on a black list. Which was false. I contacted my cell provider and was informed they we're not on any black list. I'm still waiting for them to be returned. This company is a scam, do not send them anything.
If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
Never paid for 3 packs of items that I sent and they were confirmed to have been received When inquired about it I get the same email that it should be 3-7 days for payment.
So they took my items but never paid me for them. They stole my items.
Paid $345 for a Samsung Galaxy S9. Worked for 1 email and 1 phone call... twice. Have tried multiple times to get a response through email. Their phone number doesn't work. Currently, I have it under PayPal review and plan to return the phone via insured certified mail. Only choose to purchase through declutter because of the 4 star BBB rating. Lousy company... save yourself a headache and buy elsewhere!
Bought a newer I-Phone over $400 and it had a guaranteed delivery date, free return postage if unhappy and a customer complaint phone number on the website. The phone has never been shipped, the telephone has been disconnected, and they claim the phone has been shipped. They gave me a free label to ship it back so today had to get EBAY involved. Very tempted to send heavy rocks to them after this is completed to cost them and may do it.
I sent in an iPhone 7 in excellent condition, in the original packaging. They claim that it arrived with a cracked screen and offered me a much lower price than what they advertised. There is no way the screen could have been cracked while in the original packaging. If the package had been damaged in transit I doubt that they would have excepted it.
THis is the email that i sent to decluttr. Hi. Its been a month since you guys received two of my packages, and no payment has been sent to me. It shows that decluttr received my two orders on July 2nd 2019, I expected the checks to be sent the next day as usual, nothing! Its been a month now, and after many calls to customer service, nothing has been done. Spoke with your reps: Alicya, Jasmin, Sarah, pure lie after lie after lie, every time I call to check on the progress of my two sent packages.
Order numbers: ******* and *******. Yeah you can tell by the order numbers, that these numbers are a month old. Please sent my items back, or send me my money. Thanks
I contacted the post office about the tracking number l had been given. I asked them why it hadn't left the bulk mail facility, they told me no such number had been mailed. What they did is used a number from an item mailed from my home town, which made it seem legit. I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint, after l filed one with PayPal. They agreed to refund my money, but never asked for the phone to be returned. Hmmm must be run by the government.
I purchased my new phone and was saw Declutters add to buy my old one since it was less than a year old and in like new condition. I filled out all of the paperwork and they offered me $350 for my phone which I thought was a great price. I mailed it in to them in a secure bubble wrapped package and a few days later I get a "revised" offer of $51 for my phone as they claimed the earpiece did not work. It worked fine when I sent it in so I said no thanks and had them send it back to me. I just got it back and tested it myself and the earpiece works fine. My guess is they get these and hope people will just take their "revised " offer rather than deal with having the phones shipped back and I am guessing many people do. Then I am guessing they turn around and resell the phones at a nice profit. What a scam. - Stay away
Answer: It is a legit company that reserves the right to keep your stuff and not pay you
Answer: I go to the library and print out shipping label. Go to Yahoo mail, or whoever you use, and you can print from there. Hope this helps Julie! And YES, they suck!
Answer: I've never purchased from them, only sold, but if they're dishonest in one direction it seems likely that they're dishonest in the other direction too.
Answer: Seemed legit and were mentioned on several respected web sites
