Worst shopping experience. I returned several items and was only partially refunded, even after contacting customer service and providing all the details. I paid for items I didn't keep and even covered the return postage myself.
Debenhams has been completely unhelpful in resolving this, and it's starting to feel like they're just stealing customers' money. If you value your time and money, do not shop here. Check every refund carefully — or better yet, avoid altogether.
Bought 2 products (unfortunately made in China). Entitled to refund but refused despite being inside terms and conditions. Do not purchase from Debenhams because it is now a site for cheap products that are likely unsuitable and you will not be able to obtain your money back otherwise by with a credit card.
I bought Prada perfume from Debenhams web site. It cost £100 on sale and has hardly any scent. I have previously purchased this perfume and it was fabulous. Have since found out Debenhams now owned by Boohoo. Rubbish avoid this site like the plague.
I am incredibly disappointed with my recent experience with Debenhams. I placed an order (Order Number: DUX*******) on 29th December for a perfume, which was supposed to arrive within 5-7 working days. The delivery was significantly delayed, and the parcel was ultimately lost with no updates or communication from the company.
If I hadn't reached out to Debenhams myself, it seems they would have kept my money and never addressed the issue. Their lack of initiative to contact me about the lost order is unacceptable.
While I eventually received a refund, there was no apology of the inconvenience caused, or proper compensation. The perfume was meant to be a gift for an important occasion, and due to their poor service, I was left without it.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and complete failure to take responsibility demonstrate that Debenhams does not prioritize its customers. I would strongly advise others to think twice before shopping here, as there are far better retailers who provide reliable service and actually value their customers.
I'm very disappointed with my recent experience at Debenhams. I purchased retinol oil, PSA Midnight Courage, but they sent me one that was over a year out of date. This is completely unacceptable, as expired skincare products can cause irritation or other issues. It shows a lack of care and quality control. I would not recommend shopping with them based on this experience.
This is not Debenhams as we know them
It is a company called BALLYHOO and they are cowboys No goods turn up. No refund No telephone number to speak to anyone and the chat message is a joke as they reply with the same automotive message You cannot get any help

Despite sending photographic evidence, they will not send a return label for a faulty duvet. It has a black flaw in the fabric (on a white/pink duvet). They keep saying their supplier is asking for more photos. It's just stalling tactics. Surely my contract is with Debenhams, not their supplier. I could have sent it back initially but decided to do the right thing and point out the flaw to avoid other customers receiving it. I will never buy from this company again!
Ordered on 24 November to arrive in 2 working days it is now the 12th of December still no order even though evri said they have list parcel! Debenhams say I have to wait until 16th December for unlikely delivery then I can have a refund it is xmas I need the money returned to buy something else but no I have to wait even though Evri said they have LOST it.
Sadly, Debenhams is Debenhams by name alone as a company itself, does not exist anymore they were bought out by Boohoo, they are the company to complain about.
That a side, I have made an order with them and paid for next day, DEBENHAMS UNLIMITED membership (Unlimited Next Day Delivery Need it quick? Get it delivered to your door tomorrow* and it's for free as part of your membership) delivery service they provide £9.33. The next day on receiving an email replying to my orders whereabouts (expecting my order tomorrow 03/11/23) I was told it would not be with me until the 10/11/23 I can not wait that long for my items as I need them on the day I paid for deliver on.
I then sent an email asking to cancel my order (that has not been processed yet)

Checking at our system, I can see that you have place an order on the 1st of November UK Super Saver Delivery that takes 7 business days. Please be advised that your expected delivery will be on the 10th of November.
Please be advised that as soon as you place your order, were on it as we know you need it fast! However, this means I am unable to make any changes to the order nor cancel it as its already being processed at the warehouse (literally within seconds!). The minute our warehouse receives the order we get to work putting it all together, picking and packing your order so it's ready to be sent off on its way to you.

I understand things happen and life is far from perfect but when the try so hard to misdirect you and create problems rather than solutions to issues caused by them self's I dose not bode well for them.
Debenhams have no phone number to call. I have tried to communicate with them regarding a very dangerous situation in which a broken mirror was delivered, causing broken shards of glass all over my floor, that I have cleaned up but now cannot move / remove, whilst having young children and animals in the house. All I received was an email saying they would return to me in three days. I tried communicating twice more, and begged them to phone me to deal with the matter immediately, and have no received further communcation. Absolutely unacceptable and hugely negligible - if my child knocks the box whilst walking around the house, he could be severely hurt. I am absolutely livid about their response.

Returned 2 parcels to Debenhams via drop in shop to be collected by Hermes. After 2 weeks contacted Debenhams who were more than unhelpful. Must have emailed them with all info i had plus copy of receipt from Hermes at least 5 times. Wont do anything without tracking number.
I supplied orginal tracking number plus order number plus receipt number but they won't do anything. Hermes are impossible to get through to and drop off shop say its not there problem. Dont order from Debenhams unless you are prepared to throw money down the drain.
Debenhams doesn't appear to want you to purcgase online. Keeps showing oops something went wrong when trying to ckeckout.

'0' Rating if I could - DO NOT ORDER ONLINE - Debenhams has always been my go to shop. I ordered a bag and top and paid for next day delivery. The items should have arrived on 5th April. The top arrived on 7th April but there is no sign of the bag. Debenhams Customer Service is disgraceful and when trying to contact them it is virtually impossible - only by email - receive an automated response telling me to track parcel and that's it. There is no parcel to track because it hasn't been sent to Hermes. I even received an email yesterday asking me to review the items in my order - complete joke. I appreciate and understand the strains of the current situation but if you can't deliver Debenhams then just shut up shop now. Everyday I am bombarded with emails with sales and offers and to be honest there are loads of things I would love to order but not after this experience. They are not doing themselves any favours.
Debenhams has seriously gone down hill. Even though I tried to deal with head office to solve a problem they are no longer interested.
Terrible customer service! There new don't care' attitude is disappointing. I've shopped with them for 25 years on a weekly basis and they have lost me for £10 exchange!
What a shame! Stick to John Lewis in the future, they still value their customers.
Worst company for online ordering. I ordered a tankini top online, having already bought the matching bottoms in my local store. I used the in store online ordering service, with the help of an assistant. When it arrived a few days later, not only was it not a tankini size 14, it was a swimming costume, size 10, with tummy control. It was not even the same fabric or colour. The invoice in the parcel was for the item ordered. When I tried to order the tankini again, it was out of stock. So, not only do I not have my tankini, I have a pair of bikini bottoms which are not no use to me whatsover. Apparently, their online site isn't 'live', so just because it says the item is available, it doesn't mean it is.
I ordered a laptop for £1500 from them, booked the day off work to receive it, then 22 hours before it was due to be delivered, they cancelled the order saying it was 'unavailable' - except it was available, they had just INCREASED the price by £410. Despite this I had everything organised and time was running out to get it before Christmas (this was the 9th), they ignored every e-mail I sent, I was unable to contact them using their live chat system either.
I know what you're thinking, "So don't shop at Debenhams then, get it somewhere else" - but they have taken payment in full, despite cancelling my order haven't refunded it back to by card - I'm actually having to go to the bank and declare it a fraudulent transaction in the hope of getting my money back and I don't have a spare £1500 just lying around, but now it'll be too late to get delivery before Christmas.
Don't risk having your day ruined, avoid Debenhams at all costs.
Wish we had read the customer reviews before purchasing with Debenhams (but thought this is a large well know company; how wrong we were). Ordered online, and fortunately we purchased with the security of Paypal. First part of the order turned up but short in quantity. Did the right thing and immediately notified Debenham 'Customer Service'. They advised to wait for the balance of the order, a different product. In due course the other product turned up but again short in quantity. Advised Debenham 'Customer Service' and the merry-go-round of acknowledging then refusing our request began. We tried very hard to negotiate with them but to no avail. We soon realised their method of dealing with disputes appeared to be a well worn ploy and finally most people would give up in disgust at the waste of time and deceitful behaviour. We went straight to our 'insurance' Paypal with all the facts. Cannot recommend them highly enough; they didn't waste time and got straight down to trying to liaise with Debenhams. Now you could doubt our story however when Paypal didn't hear back from Debenham within 10 working days, what does that say to a prospective honest buyer?
Ever since purchasing a few of their Lipsy and Warehouse brand dresses from the Debenham's store on Oxford in London a few yrs ago, I checked out their website and decided to order a few items online. Prompt, well-packaged shipment with and the parcel arrived with no customs duties fees which was great.
