This is a overall good site it has some good animes for free it also gets animes earlier than most anime streaming website. But the downside is that Alot of the good animes and dubs (Chainsaw Man) are premiumed. But other than that its pretty good.
Don't ever use this store there customer service dosent even exist and they just take your money and act like nothing was ever ordered and make you go through your card company to get your money back
Terrible catalog management. Good luck navigating any show that has both multiple seasons and multiple languages. Absolutely nightmare of a user interface. Also, unlike Funimation, has no "simuldub" filter to see updates to dubs only. Best bet is to use "Newly Added" and hope that top of the list isn't littered with catalog backlog additions or new episodes for a language you don't want.
First off, CrunchyRoll has SO MANY anime options, ranging from super popular to hardly known. With the hundreds maybe even thousands of anime options, you will never get bored of it.
Secondly, people always complain about the plethora of Ads, but that is only in the free version. CrunchyRoll has lots of good premium options with the lowest, and still best being only $7.99 a month! Plus every option has a free 2 week trial to see if you will like it.
Additionaly, the quality is quite amazing, and is prioritized. But most of all, the site has over 12 different dubbed languages for some shows, and also hidden, new episodes or season that you wouldn't find on other streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, ect. To top it all off, new episodes on shows are uploaded only 1 hour from the release date in Japan.
In conclusion if you are looking for a cheap, fun way to watch all your favorite anime's, CruchyRoll is a great option.
Someone hacked into my profile despite my complex pw. Thankfully, they were just a nerd wanting free anime as my card and other logins were unaffected. I was with Crunchyroll for only 1 month and have NEVER had this happen with any of my other streaming accounts or other online logins. Terrible security and an even worse anime line-up. I only subscribed for Overlord S4. Anything else can easily be streamed with Funimation, Hulu, and Netflix. Going elsewhere now and forever! Screenshots included for prrof, including the nerd's online handle. (See you soon, comrade: P)
Unhappy with constant bugs, and errors that occur which disrupt stream, and cause for negative experience.
I have been harassed for months in one of the games and they gave me nothing but boilerplate replies and refused to address harassers in violation of multiple terms of service.
I ordered a figure and received a damaged product. Milim's wings were chipped, pancake she was sitting on was completely scuffed, her thighs had scratch marks. Literally a defective item was sent to me and I paid hard earned money.
ADS ADS ADS & MORE ADS! Sure, If you plan to watch without paying ads are expected, ok fine. But you will find out VERY quickly that the watching experience is almost INTENTIONALLY HORRIBLE without upgrading. A 20min EP is EASILY 45+mins! First, you'll get an ad immediately before any of the EP plays. Then you'll get BARELY 2 mins into the EP before another ad plays. Keep in mind that the ad durations are VERY LONG because you'll be forced to sit through 3 back to back ads each time (you can't even pause them) and they come in pretty loud each time, also the ads hardly vary so be prepared to watch 20+mins of identical, loud, and skip-less ads EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
After the second round of ads it'll look like you can pretty much watch the rest of the EP freely…NOPE, not really because majority of that time will be the intro to the show. Then, it'll often replay parts you already saw before the ads, it'll feel like there's no order/flow. Another issue, the subtitles will often not show; if you try and fix/re-select your sub it will auto-restart the EP which will FORCE you to watch MORE ADS starting from the very beginning.
My experience became unbearable very quickly. I upgraded to premium with 14day free trial and now EVERYTHING is UNBELIEVABLY smooth! NO ADS, no buffering, no subtitle issues, just quick, smooth, peaceful watching. It literally doesn't even feel like the same streaming service. Free version is so bad in comparison that its clear Crunchyroll tries to FORCE customers into paying. NOPE! I will be cancelling immediately after trial ends.
Been trying to log in for over a hour. Very frustrating, They need beter servers or something because this is not working.
They cant even get the free version together so im never paying for it, I have even moved onto Tubi to finish off an anime I thought only Crunchyroll had. They blast you with commercials, the app freezes, you have to restart it and then more commericals, so at this point you have wasted over 5 minutes just to start the show, then 2 minutes in, more commericals and if you rewind for any reason, it goes back through the commericals again.
Thats when its not freezing mid commercial, it also doesnt remember which episode you were on, even though it knows you watched it, so if your on episode 80 and accidently click out of the episode, it makes you click through the 79 other episodes all over again.
Funimation and Tubi have much better functioning tv apps and I am currently using those instead, the app is beyond frustrating and they dont have alot of dubbed animes if you like english when compared to Funimation. I never purchased the sub for Crunchyroll cuz if it works that poorly while free, why would I waste money on it?
If you live in Canada do not order from these scam artists. They charge a ton for shipping and then you get charged for import fees. So a $20 item will cost you close to $100. What an absolute garbage place to buy from.
Ok, crunchyroll is good, but it's not flawless i'm only gonna talk about the downsides: 1, streaming: ok the animes are cool but idk why you have to pay for ad free viewing when I can just watch netflix with cool animes ad free without paying for it. Streaming was kinda bad. 2, bugs: ok there are a few bugs which make crunchyroll viewing unpleasant like for example: there's this bug in which i can't see the subtitles after an ad, which annoyed me a lot. Finally, 3, the ads: ok, i get the fact crunchyroll needs ads to promote their own app, but why on the app? Aren't people already using it, and also the fact 95% of the ads are about the premium subscriptions makes it just as annoying as the YT premium pop-up, so watching anime in peace is almost impossible without the subscription which makes me annoyed, so half of the time the ads just talk about the benefits of premium so that they can win kids over with the money, why should i pay for the premium subscription and need to watch good animes with premium when other streaming apps like netflix and funimation exist and i can watch good animes for free, ad free without paying for a subscription? Conclusion: i'm not saying i hate the app, i'm just saying that crunchyroll needs to fix these things before anyone else complains about it.
Like the title suggests, Crunchyroll has several critical flaws in a streaming service, the first and foremost is that the videos either don't play, buffer so much you want to claw your eyeballs out, or the quality swings from 1080p to 240p. This makes the service very frustrating to use and can very turn a quick 10-minute video into a $#*!ty hour.
I bought a preorder for February release and its July and there still no word and it just keeps getting delayed with every new date.
Every preorder figure i get is delayed and they used covid as an excuse but they did this before covid even happened
Crunchyroll is a great app since you can watch almost every single anime in the world, but the only problem is the adds. Sometimes you get 6 adds at the same time, its annoying but you get use to it after a while. If you really don't want adds you should get premium. Another thing is I wanted to watch the last episode of MHA but I couldn't because you had to have premium to watch it, and that kind of annoyed me.
I dont use their site to watch anime due to how much they change and censor it but buying figures and other merchandise has been pretty nice. They have the best prices out of any of the other American stores and their customers service is quick to help with any issues. They are also really friendly and professional.
The site is very glitchy and trying to cancel requires that you call your credit card to stop payment...
Funimation is much better, I regret trying crunchyroll!
So get this. They have a massive catalogue of shows right. Cool... yet almost none of them are dubbed... even the ones you would expect (my hero academia, Boston, even god damn one piece.) Got this so me and my partner could binge watch a few shows but this site is garbage. Don't waste your money here. Like seriously it really is disappointing.
Crunchyroll is a great place to watch anime and all but there are a little to much ads and there are so much anime shows that requires premium. Also, premium isn't cheap and everything you watch gives you more then 5 ads. I would really like it if Crunchyroll puts less ads and let us watch more shows that don't require premium.
Answer: Crunchyroll engineered a scam. If you payed using paypal, you have to cancel through paypal. It's ridiculous.
