I'm having issues with my login and I can't get any help with it. I can't even cancel the account because I can't even log into the account.
I purchased over 200$ worth of Miku Figures that were IN STOCK 3 weeks ago. Website states in stock products ship within 5 business days. Finally I got an email stating the products have been "shipped" but only a shipping label has been created, I've waited 48 hours for update, still nothing. I was assured I was upgraded to 2 day shipping due to the long wait on shipping. Every time I've reached out to customer service I get vague responses, no real facts. I've filled report with BBB. This company has proved that they absolutely don't care about their customers, I wish I would've looked at the reviews first. Horrible reviews. I've asked for refunds prior to the shipping update and was ignored 3 times.
Crunchyroll has a solid selection of old and new anime. However they are the only major legal service to watch anime and with no competition they never improve their service and do the bare minimum. They have problems with their various apps and i have had issues with the company keeping track of premium membership. And if you face any problem and go to customer service they will take forever sometimes be rude and then most likely wont solve your problem. I have tried customer service 5 times my problem got solved once only because i had to go through 4 different customer service reps
There is no way to pay except for creditcard. Ridiculous. The free trial costs 5 min every 20 min so you might as well divide your hourly wage by 4, thats the hourly cost to use the free version. I would gladly pay but the financial trap of the creditcard is the only way to pay. Pathetic. They hope people forget their subscription and they probably will. Conforming there evil actually works. This method is despicable i hope everyone at crunchyroll faces personal bankruptcy at one point in their life.
Like the title suggests, Crunchyroll has several critical flaws in a streaming service, the first and foremost is that the videos either don't play, buffer so much you want to claw your eyeballs out, or the quality swings from 1080p to 240p. This makes the service very frustrating to use and can very turn a quick 10-minute video into a $#*!ty hour.
Ordered in-stock (and still in-stock as of writing this) Christmas gifts 30 days before Christmas and they have shown nothing but disregard for not only myself, but many, many others (as evidenced by all the negative posts about them this holiday). A week after ordering I was informed by them there would be some shipping delays. I waited another week before reaching out and was informed that my order would be put in a priority queue with Crunchyroll doing everything they could to ensure delivery by Dec. 23rd.
Then I heard nothing, so I reached out again and was just informed that my order would be shipped 2 day priority with no guarantee of a Christmas delivery attached. I reached back out to them once more to enquire about this and now they have gone silent. Seems that my kids will not be alone in not getting the gifts they wanted. I have canceled my membership because of this as I can not support a business that treats its customers like they mean so little to them.
This app is literally unusable for free users, in a small 20 minutes episode they shove you 6 ads, that's too much! It's impossible to keep interested in an episode when you're constantly being interrupted, and sometimes when the ad ends the episode doesn't resume in the right part, so I have to look for the right part, and guess what? When I finally do, I have to watch another 3 ads! That is unbelievable irritating... Plus, the 14 days free trial is a scam. They immediately ask for your bank account data so when the 14 days end they have the permission to go and grab your money even if you don't want to continue being premium. I really hate this crappie app, they are really greedy, just imagine the money they make for episode by forcing us to watch between 6 and 9 ads... I'm out. Never going to use this again.
I have been a premium subscriber for several years now. I got Crunchyroll for the manga more than the anime for a variety of reasons. Now that the main browsers have stopped supporting Flash, Crunchyroll insists on using Flash as the manga reader. I actually got a comment back from support when I asked. They said, basically, "We are aware of the problem but have no plans to change the platform." That's a company who cares about it's customers NOT!
I've used crunchyroll for almost 2 years now and had no issues with my account whatsoever until today. My account was compromised and I did not receive ANY notification for it. I only found out it was compromised when I tried to log into my account but found that it was deleted. Like really? Why am I paying for monthly subscription if I can't even be assured that my account is secured? I was really thankful that the crunchyroll team swiftly returned my account, but after this? I highly doubt I'll ever use this site ever again. Rather just stick to Netflix or some other site.
I'm not going to repeat what everyone else is saying, but all the complaints are accurate! The worst streaming app ever! Not worth the $7.99/mo
The app never works properly and you can tell it's cheaply maintained and never updated! These people have no idea how to develop a streaming app!
This website is legal and approved by several anime companies. It supports itself and the companies in which the videos came from though Premium Membership, Donations, and Ads. Only flaw is that there are few dubs.
If you are on the app, horrible. That is awful. I don't know if it's because I am an American, and getting this set of shows from overseas, but it is always crashing on the app, it is never consistent. Almost every time I watch a show it has to buffer and even when it does buffer it doesn't do anything. It is much worse when it is during the time periods of 8/7 central because every is watching TV at the time, but even when it's 2 AM when Americans are asleep, it doesn't work. It's not a good app. Everybody should say this thing it's horrible.
Crunchyroll is one of a small majority of legal anime streaming sites. Some people seem to be very skeptical about it, but, trust me, as a member of the site for 3 years, i can guarantee that the site is virus-free. Another reviewer complained that you had to pay to watch the anime. In some cases (Like with older episodes of Naruto and Bleach) that is true. But almost every other show is entirely free to watch! They also have a premium membership so that you can watch episodes of certain series right when they come out (Free members have to wait a week, but can be given a guest pass by a premium member to watch it). All in all, I recommend this site to any anime/Drama lover!
I moved in January of 2022 and requested an address change at that time. I got confirmation from Crunchyroll's customer service team that the address had been updated and I left it that.
On October 25th, 2023 (AGES later btw), I finally got shipping confirmation for my item. Except they were sending to my old address, where I haven't lived in so long that my mail forwarding is expired.
So I message the support chat, asking if they can redirect, and they say they'll escalate it and to keep an eye out for communication from their store team. I never received it. I reached out again a few days later, then again a few days later. And all I got was "we'll escalate it".
I checked tracking today, and the package is out for delivery to my old address. No help or support or contact in 9 days trying to get this corrected (after I ALREADY had it corrected almost 2 years ago!)
Their support team is so handicapped they can't do anything but pass the buck. It's inefficient, stressful, and absolutely not worth it.
I cancelled my monthly fee before the free trial was over. I now have a negative balance on my paypal account. I owe money to paypal now! Paypal gave me their customer phone number and I called. It does absolutely nothing! It just told me to go to their website. I don't even know my username or email for my crunchyroll account. I didn't use my account. It's not a FREE trial if I still get charged AFTER I stop my monthly fees.
Shipped an item that is commonly kept in the box as a collector's item in a padded envelope. The box of the figure has an indentation in the back from weight having placed on top, it could have arrived in much worse shape. Charged 8 dollars for shipping and sent it in a padded envelope?! This is ridiculous. I'd rather pay a little more on the order from a quality supplier, never shopping here again.
The xbox 360 app just doesn't work. It freezes at every other ad break, and far too frequently has the glitch where it only displays a black screen while the audio continues as normal. I've uninstalled, deleted all data, and reinstalled, as well as reset my system cache, and in both cases were incredibly temporary. It allowed me to watch a single episode without complete interruption.
It's a great app if you want to spend 2 hours watching a single 20 minute episode.
Utterly horrible, there is absolutely no point to pay for a membership, let alone even use the website at all. Streaming is horrible, all the videos pause and stop buffering after about a minute unless I'm viewing in the default 360p resolution. Their business practice of billing people who canceled their free trial is absurd. Their customer support is no help, their phone number is nothing more than an automated voice message saying the equivalent of "$#*! you", and they have been having streaming issues for well over a year now and do nothing to fix it. Not sure how their website is still running after all this time.
They do OK. As one of the few ways to get free anime legally in the US, however, their service has gotten pretty poor, and they're not doing their tech support people any favors by basing their jobs on how many good reviews they get. I had a technical issue, was told they couldn't fix it, but they're working on it. As far as I was concerned, that was the end of the issue, but then they asked for a review of my experience - and I didn't rate them well because the problem wasn't fixed. Now I'm getting multiple requests to change my review and offers of free time. Thanks, but it says nothing good about you or your job.
I canceled my subscription and deleted my account a while ago and I'm still being billed. I wouldn't make an account with them, specially seeing as I'm not the only one with this problem. If you want to watch Anime there are plenty of free sites to use.

Answer: Crunchyroll engineered a scam. If you payed using paypal, you have to cancel through paypal. It's ridiculous.
