I entered a contract with Critter Control mid-March 2025. This contract was for treatment of mole infestation to kill and prevent their return. Eric came to do the initial investigation and sales. I had a similar contract several years ago with Trutech which was not a good experience. He spoke openly about the merger of Trutech with Critter Control and that things were now better as Critter Control was doing the service. I was encouraged to hear that and reviewed his proposed plan. The plan I purchased was not cheap either time! It was for a service call that included gassing identified mole trails and return visits to follow-up with other gassing as needed as well as application of castor oil, etc. as a deterrent. I have not seen them since March and have never been contacted for any follow-up service. I have called numerous times, and I get no reply from their service department. I called Eric he did eventually call back with apologies and said he would get on management to schedule service. Two weeks later I have still heard nothing. I am reporting to the Better Business Bureau, and I am going for a refund on my contract. If that doesn't work, I will contact the State Attorney Generals' office. Because, as I read in other posts here, and my experience, they do not honor contracts! So, this shop is about getting your money upfront and NOT performing! They need to be taken down and doors closed!
Employees left a mess and a window open after attic cleanup. Appointments not kept. Abysmal communication. "Techs" show up without proper screwdriver to open attic hatch when known it is needed. RUDE, disrespectful men. Overpriced. Awful experience.
Did not complete job per contract. Charged credit card w/o authorization. Didn't supply pictures of work as promised. Out of pocket $3,000.00. Will be contacting credit card company and lawyer if need be.
I paid the 2400 dollars to rid my attack of rats. When I canceled the monthly service, th we y took all the traps out of my attic and bait boxes out of my yard. What did my 2400 pay for? Carlos was terrible and refused to go up in the attack to check for the presence of rats. Use some other HONEST company. All these people are interested in is money, specifically yours.
When service began, Jake and Bryan were good and diligent in the sales and assessment process. Monthly service is not worth it. Unreliable, no regard for client time or consistency and substandard maintenance. Would recommend one time service but that is it!
We have a rat problem in our attic. They sealed off all entry points and there are a quite a few of them. They also set traps around the home as well. We have a marked decrease in rat activity in the attic and have found dead rats around our home. The big issue is reliability. We routinely get the text saying when our service date but then they never show up, so we call them and reschedule and the same thing happens. There seems to be a revolving door of management and they too have bad follow up skills. Once the service agreement is up we are not renewing.
After repeated complaint phone calls (and unreturned calls) to the local Critter Control Co. And their finance company, Rollins Acceptance Co. I feel I need to make this bad review. Hopefully this will get their attention! I'll keep this short and say it all starts with the salesman that comes to your house. You don't fill out any loan papers, you are not given any paperwork, and the next thing you know you owe them $10,000... I am not just a customer but also a Google Local Guide 8.
If you want an outrageous and shameless quote, a misdiagnosis, lack of expertise, a plan for totally unnecessary actions, multiple harassing follow-up calls for your decision, pressure to start treatment under threat of worsening conditions (which don't exist) then by all means, call these charlatans!
Will call BBB on these guys!
Compared with 3 other vendors to confirm issues. We did not sign up for these fakers!
Trust all of the negative reviews about this company. The sales person Daniel Kalchik told us that we had "a severe" rat problem. We paid $2,900 to take care of it. He sold us on a supposed "disinfectant" package to help after the rats are gone. Well we had one mouse, and after the so called disinfection we still have the same smell in the attic. The company is a rip off. DO NOT trust them!
Don't use them unless you receive a guarantee. Had absolutely no results and so I contacted them for just a partial refund. And someone was supposed to call me back and never did. The lady said well these critters know to stay away from traps. That was her excuse for no results. I just wanted half of my money back. Since I obviously have to call someone else. They have no idea of what type of animals under my house.
The worst company, horrible customer service, outpriced. They placed a mousetrap above the ceiling in our office, and it's been 6 days since we heard something gets trapped in it! Called and called them numerous times! Gene Kepes (owner? Manager?) said they will schedule (!) someone! Really? The smell is getting worse every day, there are nuggets going to crawl around soon, and we must wait for a free spot on their busy schedule? So now no one is even answering the phone, and we have no idea when we will be blessed and saved by someone from Critter Control from that terrible smell of decaying animal above our heads!
Going down Cherry Road, your text was speeding through a school zone. They need to be more careful, there's kids out there! They don't give a damn about kids, so why should I give a damn about using a place like you!?
We had and still have raccoons living in our soffits. Their quote was $5,800! Our insurance would not cover the infestation. We basically had no choice, so we signed on. All they did was put in a one way doors to the nests. After a week or so they came back and sealed up the holes. They did not remove the nests Which I thought was dumb. To make matters worse, they did not replace any of my original soffit panels that were knocked down by the raccoons. They just installed sheet metal and painted it to match. Not pleased about "their" fix. They told me that they are not a siding contractor and I would need to hire a contractor to replace the soffit! They gave me a two year warranty, which I found to be useless. The raccoons are back and I was told it would be another $1000 to take care of them since they found another entrance. What a money grab!
I am in Murhpy NC area and contacted them for service. Was contacted and they Siad they would come out on Monday. Tried to get them to come on Tueday and was told they do not service Murphy. Should of told me that when I talked to then 4 days before. Need to change their advertisement it is mis-leading
Beware! The contract says $299.95 for the inspection, setting live traps, and monitoring the traps for 2 weeks. That sounds fair enough, but in our case the inspector didn't find where the critters were entering, so he had no place to set the traps, and no traps to monitor. $299.95 for a half hour inspection is absurd! I suppose we should have foreseen this possibility when we signed the contract, but what we'd been hearing was not just a little mouse-size critter, so it never crossed our minds that an inspector wouldn't find its entrance.
I had an appointment for 8-10am. Never showed. Got an email from *******@salesforce.com; on behalf of; Hunter Little <*******@crittercontrol.com> saying "We appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Should you have a future need, please keep us in mind."
Called the 800 number and they said they would have Hunter contact me, NEVER DID. Can I give a less than 1 rating?
I am extremely disappointed with Critter Control's service and feel like we completely wasted $2,000. Initially, they quoted us a price that seemed excessive for sealing up some areas to prevent critters from getting into our home, but we reluctantly agreed, especially since my wife is pregnant and we wanted peace of mind. They showed us pictures of areas that needed to be sealed, but after they completed the work, I noticed several of the original problem areas were still left unaddressed.
I requested someone come out and walk us through what had actually been sealed, and while they initially agreed, they completely ghosted me after that. Part of the agreement was that someone would come by daily for the following week to ensure everything was taken care of. When I followed up with Ari, instead of helping schedule those visits, he just gave me someone's number like it was my responsibility to chase them down. Ultimately, someone stopped by only three times.
To make matters worse, our kitchen began to smell like rotting rodents, and I could still hear critters in the attic—exactly what we paid them to prevent! When I spoke to Jonathan, he mentioned we'd receive discounts on future services, but unsurprisingly, we never heard from him again.
This company is unprofessional and unreliable. Not only did they fail to address the original problem, but their communication was nonexistent, and they left us with the same issues we had before they "sealed" anything. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you're considering Critter Control.
Long story short, I prepaid for service but when the tech came out, he said one service was not required and told me to call and request a refund for it. I did so and received a refund. However, about a month later I saw a pending charge on my credit card for the same amount. I called again and was advised it was a mistake and the charge would not go through. It went through. My credit card company processed a chargeback and Visa blocked the company from charging again. Another month passes and I get an bill via email. I call and find out it was a "software issue" causing my credit to show up as if I owed money. I am assured that my balance is zero and I will not be bothered again. Fast forward a week, I get another emailed bill. At this point the issue is still NOT resolved.
Never trust this company with your money, and if you do, DO NOT PREPAY FOR ANYTHING.
Quoted a price, then added hidden fees and services at ridiculous cost without explanation. Definitely did not provide upfront pricing. Service was just ok, but sign nothing before you see a written itemized contract. When I attempted to discuss my issues with them they just talked in circles, passing me on to the next person.
Not mentioned on phone, assumed it was free. Technician arrived, I just wanted one gable vent and chimney screened, no coons at the moment. Took 5 mins to check out these two entry points, then he asked for the estimate fee, I was dumbfounded, should've been told.
The company has garnered significant criticism for its unreliable service and lack of follow-through on commitments, leading to customer dissatisfaction. Many reviews highlight issues such as unauthorized charges, poor communication, and inadequate responses to pest problems, which have left clients feeling scammed and frustrated. While some customers noted initial diligence from technicians, the overall sentiment reflects a pattern of unprofessionalism and unmet expectations. Despite a few positive mentions of service effectiveness, the prevailing feedback suggests that potential clients should approach with caution, emphasizing the need for improved customer support and transparency in pricing.
