Its a great website. Its free to post items and its popular. Like anything else. You still need to be careful.
My first taste of Craigslist.org got me a barter that worked out extremely well for both myself and the person listing the barter.
Since that went so well. I bought a few baby items for a friends visit. It was cheaper to buy a travel play pen and a baby bouncer on craigslist than for them to pay the baggage fee with the airlines. I then donated the items to charity.
I've also had a tremendous response to a bunch of items I listed that were just taking up space. Craigslist readers got great deals and I gained precious garage space. I'm blown away at the distance some people will drive to pick up a good deal.
I don't bother selling items on eBay. The listing fee, after the sale fee, paypal fee and the hassle of boxing and shipping. It just wasn't worth it for me.
You can; t beat free. craigslist.org is primarily free.
I like craiglist. But I want to give a little advice. I almost being scam, but fortunately decided to call pay pal and found out the truth. DO NOT take payments through pay pal when selling something in craiglist. It is very easy for people to request a refund after getting merchandise and you ending with no money and no merchandise. CASH ONLY. Believe me, I was save because I contacted Pay pal and they warned me of me being scam. Even if they provided you with personal info like ph #, address, dl #, dont do it. Its easy to create a person identity.
Craigslist is horrible because they let dealer's take over because the dealers pay them money, $3 and add. And if a dealer is unhappy with a private add like mine, then they will get the moderators to take it down because it's competition at a cheaper price. He'll take the ad down without telling you or letting you know and then when you reach out to the Forum to find out why it would take him down you get treated like garbage and talked down to, because those people have no life and just like to have power over people just like some police officers nowadays
I contacted Craigslist to report someone stealing my identity for a property listing using their site and Jotform to make it appear official. Not a peep from these people and I will never use this damn site again for anything. Seems like people can murder and scam off this weak $#*! site and get away with it F**k you All‼You will REAP all of what you allow on your site right in HELL‼
If I was writing this review a year ago I would be giving it ***** stars, but they changed the posting system, now I cant find my add on there. I see 5 star reviews and I guess they are the ones that are able to manipulate the system, I see multiple adds for the same thing, one add particular suck out, after seeing it a few times I decided to count them, 128 times, the posting title kept changing, but it was the same add. It was property for rent, I would be willing to bet they don't have 128 apartments for rent right now. My add ad is nowhere to be found
It is a very nice place to find deals whenever you need to buy or sell something. It is free, well organized and there are plenty of genuine ads for anything you may need.
Of course it is necessary to take some safety precautions. If your deal implies personal meeting it is more than better to bring a friend with you and also to choose a payment method safe for both sides.
In order to protect your private information from stammers use a supplementary e-mail address to create an account on Craigslist. This will also protect your main e-mail address from extra spam. Be smart composing your ad: choose the best category and put exact instructions how to contact you if somebody is interested in dealing with you; replace some numbers in your phone with letters, this also helps to prevent spam.
It is a perfect place to find some cheap used or discounted products.
I've tried posting an ad several times for some household items and the ads keep getting removed immediately for no reason. There is no explanation as to why. I've followed the rules. This is just crap.
Helps to live comfortable. But all that happens is that CL allows competitors to flag you without any action or proof that you're up telling illegally, We have a decent business and is not just an abusive competitor whose flag us for no reason, Cl had already detected that and I have sent thousands of complaints and not listen.
No place to leave a review for dishonest sellers to keep other buyers from being deceived! Please stay away from a lady named Sheila living at Winterthur CL NW Kennesaw, Georgia! Sells toys and other items she states "collects" from neighbors to sell. VERY dishonest lady! Beware!
Not everything in Craigslist is the way it seems. I doubt they even vet the postings there. I received something completely different in efficiency compared to how it was marketed on craigslist. I hope my experience is not the same for others, that this was just a one-time mishap. But just be forewarned
I recently bought a truck from Iron Horse Auto Group and was misled as to the condition of the truck. It will cost me $1,500.00 to put the truck in the condition described to me. They finally gave me a $500.00 refund, but that leaves me $1,000.00 short. Paid $6,600.00 for the truck so the $1,500.00 is quite a high percentage off the mark. I'm a 70 year old disabled retired person. Not Fair! Beware of them.
Craigslist have been flagging every post of mine and there nothing wrong with the post it's very frustrating because I'm trying to sell my house and it won't post my ad it's been doing this for weeks now and it can't be fixed if you want another website use backpage it's way better craigslist sucksssss super bad!
I wasted so much time setting up an account with craigslist, and putting an ad to sale my Mom's house, only to have it deleted for no reason within a few days. I wasted more time trying to figure out what happened to my ad, only to find out that craigslist makes a regular practice of ghosting people's accounts with no grounds. I got a couple of dead end responses to the ad. I put it on Facebook's Marketplace and I had over 1000 views in less than 24 hours. It took 5 days to get 2 serious offers. It is now sold, no thanks to craigslist!
Not worthy to get even a single star. You keep posting legit job without violating any of their terms and it will just get flagged and removed over and over again without a valid reason. Not very helpful. Free yes but useless
I've posted many ads on Craigslist for job openings. The routing of seekers "replys" was not being received. I even tried to reply to the ad and didn't receive my own. My ad replys were going to an apartment complex and craigslist stool hasn't fixed the issues or given me a refund. I've been emailing customer service for 2 months now.
There is no customer service phone numbers, so you have to email. I have been emailing back and forth with "customer service". They do not help what-so-ever. It's terrible. They won't give you a call or speak to you over the phone. Nothing was ever resolved and they won't give me my money back. They end every email with, "this has been resolved" and nothing was ever resolved.
They will steal your money and do not offer refunds for their mistakes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND using their service!
So on 09.03.2020 Jeff Dungan came to my home to see if my dryer could be fixed. NEVER taking it apart to see what was wrong with it... Listen to me tell him the noise that it made. Said that it needed a pulley. He charged me $50 for coming out and $40 for the part.= $90. Promising to come back when the part came in. I NEVER seen him again. Please be aware of JEFF DUNGAN he's a CROOK! Not a real business man******* 1:06 pm 09.14.2020 Jeff just sent me the $90... I still wouldn't do business with him. UNPROFESSIONAL
This is an awesome site to find anything from furniture to a job! My partner and I actually found our apartment on here! Not only can you find many good deals on here, you can sell your no longer used items on here for free! Just be careful for the wackos out there and meet in a well-lit and public place. I'm very grateful for this site. The main drawback to CL is some of the fake advertisers.
I am seriously disgusted with Craigslists and its LACK of customer service. I have followed every single guideline and yet still cannot post an ad. Really what is this site even here for if you cannot post an ad without it being flagged every 5 minutes. Absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous. And NO customer service or anyway to reach them. Time to move on to other ad sites.
This person is a general contractor and realtor. I would never use him again or recommend his services to anyone. He didn't start the project when he was supposed to, his work was not good. He made excuses everyday why he could not come to my property, and in the end he never even finished the job.
I wish there was a way to ban this site from existence. When it first hit the scene it was the ideal go to website for anything from cars, a new place, a job/gig or simply to get rid of some old stuff from the garage. These days there is nothing apart from scamming happening on Craigslist. People have actually died falling for some of the crap on this website. It's sad but yet foolish altogether to let this site remain active but what do we do about it?
Answer: Because the dealers pay them. Craigslist has turned into a spammers haven. There are next to no real postings left. The scammers flag real postings so their ads get priority. Its a dead site.
Craigslist has a rating of 1.8 stars from 513 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Craigslist most frequently mention customer service, several times and phone number. Craigslist ranks 188th among Classifieds sites.
