Took my money without any explanation for refusing my paid post.
I had several paid and unpaid posts on the site a few years ago without any problems. Two days ago, I posted a similar paid post, but it was not published after five hours. I wrote to the support, but only received an automatic email response with help FAQs. Going through the FAQs, I do not see any problems with my post. However, I still tried to edit my post here and there to see if there is anything I missed, but I could not log in to my account, it said that my account is on hold. I emailed the support again, still an automatic email response with help FAQs. Days went by, I still have not received any human response. The site agreement says that the fund I paid is not refundable even the post is denied. Here is my post (removed the location information):
"SAT Math by a Former Professor with AI, $20 Trial"
Having taught graduate and undergraduate courses at universities in four different states, I found that the students' struggles in different courses are rooted in a few fundamental areas of thinking and preparing the SAT Math is a great way to train the mind to think.
One of my students got 660 in June, was tutored by two companies before getting 660 again in October, but scored 780 in December with only ten 50-minute sessions working with me. The dramatic improvement is only the byproduct of my student's efforts because I accentuate upon students' forming passionate habits of curiosity and gaining skills that are easily transportable beyond math. The same skills and strategies that I impart in my tutoring enable me to achieve the followings:
1. Turned $820 into $442,618 in 15 months by day-trading stocks. In comparison, if one would invest the same amount of the money in the S&P 500 with dividends reinvested and inflation adjusted for 70 years ending December 2022, one would have $90,243. Not bad for people with the patience and the money to put aside for a long term. However, my tradings in 15 months generated a total return of 53,878%, almost five times of that if invested in the S&P 500 for 70 years.
2. Developed and sold a trading bot to one of the largest funds in the world.
3. Developed several award-winning softwares, one of which was illustrated in a college computer textbook in 1998 when I was a student.
4. Won the second-place in a 5000-player poker tournament within one month of learning Texas Hold'em.
5. Was awarded a U.S. patent for math-learning invention.
6. Published research findings in top-tier academic journals.
I use AI, along with my own experience to target areas of need with great precision, and spend far less time on the topics students already do well. As the child is successfully making the progress, I will continuously adjust the areas of targets along the way. Therefore the total tutoring hours are greatly reduced as a result.
$20 for a 30-minute no-obligation trial. $250 for a 50-minute session, two sessions minimum, pay as you go.
Disclaimer: My achievements are not typical, nor is the experience of my student mentioned above. I do not imply or guarantee that similar results will be obtained by your child. Students differ in their background, motivation, dedication, and the amount of time they work on the subject. For example, day-trading is extremely risky. Studies after studies consistently show that up to 97% of day-traders lose money. Many never achieve profitability through day-trading. "[m]ost individual investors do not have the wealth, the time, or the temperament to make money and to sustain the devastating losses that day-trading can bring" (according to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission).
FINRA, the government-authorized not-for-profit organization that oversees U.S. broker-dealers, requires members who promote day-trading strategies to provide non-institutional customers with a clear and conspicuous warning that states as follows in relevant part:
"Day trading can be extremely risky...You should be prepared to lose all of the funds that you use for day trading. In particular, you should not fund day-trading activities with retirement savings, student loans, second mortgages, emergency funds, funds set aside for purposes such as education or home ownership, or funds required to meet your living expenses. Further, certain evidence indicates that an investment of less than $50,000 will significantly impair the ability of a day trader to make a profit. Of course, an investment of $50,000 or more will in no way guarantee success."

This system is absolutely corrupt and child like. I guess you have to email CL direct when you want to buy something and they email the seller. The seller must reply to a CL email and then CL replies to the buyer. All of these moving parts do not work. This is frustrating and sad, Hire some people that can help.
*******@sale.craigslist.org
Good Luck. Understand, you can only email CL and they do not reply.
NONE!!! The system does not work. There is no customer service at all with CL.
Legal ads get removed
But slimeballs and pervs approved wtf
Are $#*!ed people running this site
they discriminate against all legitimate businesses so ...
i paid for a business ad but it never gets published
I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone or to Craigslist but I feel very disrespected and hindered by Craigslist
It's wrong for Craigslist to allow people to flag other people. Craigslist has no idea if these are competitors, enemies, jealous people or just plain jerks.
It's like they're allowing people to act like children and pulverize each other and not taking any control of their site and the people.
I understand that if an ad is not up to par and up to the standards for a horrible content but there are some people who just flag your ad for no reason because they're just jerks
I'm very disappointed that Craigslist allows just anybody to flag somebody. It's downright an outrage to allow this.
Craigslist should have their own employees or people to flag them. They probably don't want to be held liable for it and that's not fair because then we have to deal with all these freaking jerks.
Craigslist should take a look at the ads and they should inform people whether they get their employee or an automated system that can work with people where they give them chances first to change it until it's right. In addition, if it's still not good enough the more the person changes it for the better then finally the person is allowed to put the ad on Craigslist.
That's what they do in applications.
Applications or such. They allow you to fix a section to answer it over and over until you get it right. For example if you don't put a correct answer or if you still need a section to complete they allow you to do that.
I understand if the ad was downright hateful or has a horribly disrespectful content that they would flag at.
Yet there are ads that I and other people have put out that are very decent ads. They are put in the right section of Craigslist and yet still they are flagged.
So honestly I don't want anything to do with Craigslist there's got to be a better way. Allowing other people to do this. It is out of control.
I think it's wrong for them to be doing this and I think it's very disrespectful and hindering to others for Craig does to allow this.
I understand that they first show you all the rules and get you to agree to their terms and regulations but I still feel that there are some things here that are just downright opposing.
I just don't think it's really a smart way to work on a site like this and it's not respectful.
I'm tired of it.
As a voiceover actor, I am always looking for new places to find work. Enter Craigslist. Saw a listing last night that conveniently said, "Voice over needed." Hit reply, and to my surprise, I received a quick answer.
Here is part of the reply:
"gig as a budget drawn for $1,050.
A new corporate client of mine wants to create their online website.
This assignment is a copyrighted script that will be provided. We have specialists, and Contract Studio Engineers who will bring the real perfection to the job.
It's a two days project and wouldn't take more than 45 minutes to record for each of the days."
Sounds pretty good, right? It seemed a bit too good. Didn't ask for a demo, just going to take me as is, and pay me over a grand. My radar is up.
I write him back asking for more info. I get this:
"As part of my working policy and ethics, I get to receive part payment from any client before proceeding with any job, and balance immediately after the job is done.
So I will get in touch with our client and part payment will be mailed to you.
Your total pay for the job is going to be $1,050 as earlier discussed.
Part payment of $450 will be mailed out and you get the balance of $600 on the final day of the recording.
So kindly send me your payment details for issuing a certified Check, as to which our sponsor is to mail out your payment to you in the details below:"
Now I kick my investigating into high gear. What I find disappoints me, but doesn't surprise me. The guy who initially wrote me is Gareth Cole. Searching the internet, I come up with this doozy:
"In the voiceover world, we have our own share of spammers. Take Gareth Cole, or whatever name he's currently going by. Now this guy isn't just a spammer, he's also a scammer: a truly revolting combination. Here is a guy who routinely posts on Craigslist about an opportunity for his "new corporate client", and the job pays $1150, or $1350 or $Ridiculous-Amount-Too-Good-To-Be-True-But-I-Think-You're-A-Sucker-50, and you must record from his studio and pay a deposit."
Here is the link to the rest of the story:
https://www.dougturkel.com/blog/2019/11/19/the-anatomy-of-a-voiceover-scam/
I reached out to Gareth, telling him I am not interested. I added the same stuff I put in this review. I half expected him to write back, feigning disbelief. Nope never heard from him again. At least not yet.
I understand this review is long, but I need people too understand that these scammers exist. Breaking in, and creating any sort of career in the VO field is beyond tough (for me at least). The last thing any of us need is to be scammed.
I hope this helps.
Remember: If it's seems too good to be true, it most likely is.
CL in my city is officially dead and corrupt to the core and 100% of the ads are from the 3rd world scammers. India, Pakistan etc. I'm not joking when I say 100%. I went to view a main page and they show about 50 posts, well it was obvious as day that all 50 ads were posted by the same person. Its a 3rd world scam crew that has infected kijijii and craigslist, they make contacts for both buying and selling, the ads are not as ridiculous as the scammers of the past who tell you they won a diamond mine and just need to get the money out of the country. These are quite sophisticated and mostly revolve around IDENTITY THEFT or other spoofing tactics. They are either spoofing you or spoofing someone else using your identity. They also do scripts and programs, this includes ransoms, computer lock ups, credit card and banking scams, other scams that have morphed over the years but all revolve around the same things. Its basically looking for weaknesses, exploits, your kids, etc and they have literally hundreds of scams they can apply on you based on what they find. Some cockroach will call and try get your kids to give up your address or reveal other personal information, maybe get you to visit a website so they can grab your IP, or worse find an open port. Since scam sites like CL and kijiji have forced accounts it has everyone infected, you will be contacted eventually as a buyer or seller and slowly these terrorist build a complete profile on you. It may take them years but I have proven that the same scam screws have been working this for years. I was able to track some back as far as 5 years to ebay but today they are working craigslist and kijiji and the scams have hundreds of variations. They even have job applications and gig offers but all of them feature the same thing, a scammer saying send me a scan of your license or some proof you are a driver so you get the job or some variation of this scam. All I can say is if you're a buyer or seller get a $10 cell phone and never give your real name out. These companies like CL and kijiji are the problem, they ar 100% fraud trying to be global and be in every city, that is why they do such a poor job and always need to up the stakes on their so called safety efforts, which always fails and morphs into bigger scam infecting more people. Trade locally, AVOID TEXT MESSAGES, USE CALLS ONLY until you know the person.
Scammers, they stole my money, I called severally they didn't pick my calls and I sent them messages through email forty times they never respondedI paid about $2500. 00 for house rent to the owner, just to find out it all a scam. I was lucky to recover it back through an agent I met through a friend, I got back $1000. 00 out of my money, he promised to help with the balance. So if you are a victim like me, message him through this email( admin AT dellj4001ATgmailDOTcom)
This remodel was the worst experience ever. We have a very large bathroom and we were quoted $50K and told that it would take 8 weeks but it took over 8 mths. At the beginning of this project we felt so much pressure to buy a long list of things they needed so that the project wasn't delayed. How were we suppose to do that when all we had was a layout and no measurements? Some of the delay with this project was due to the city inspector but ultimately their contractors were fixing errors or redoing things that weren't done right. The first thing we were told is that a portion of a load bearing wall would need to be moved. They sent me the change order and said that it would cost $7,000. The first thing I asked is what is the $7,000 for? I was told not to worry that I'd receive a detailed receipt. What they sent me was vague and didn't detail anything. I never should've signed that change order without the detailed breakdown in my hands first. So they used Simpson Strong-Tie hardware which is great but we told them that my husband and I work for Simpson and that we could provide the hardware that was needed. They claim they were never told this. I complained and was told that Treeium didn't buy any product from Simpson. This might be true if they already had the parts they needed but that doesn't mean that those costs didn't trickle down to us. Another thing that was added to the change order was replacement of the subfloor in the shower. We had already done the demo for the shower and it was clear when they saw the project that the subfloor would need to be replaced so to add this to the change order is ridiculous. They replaced clear block tile with a window in the shower but the window was too big thus half of it was in the shower and half out. They replaced the window but unfortunately the finish didn't match the other large window that they installed over the tub so they had to replace it yet again. We noticed the supply line for the toilet was about 10" away from the toilet so it was an eye sore. I asked them about it and they said, "That is what the inspector advised us to do and we can't change it." I called the inspector the next day and he said, "I don't have a change order but I have no problem if you want it moved." One concern before even starting the project was whether the exterior stucco/paint would match where they put in the windows. They told us that they paint the whole wall so there's no worry about a paint match. Well because that wasn't written in the contract they claim that they never told us that. The tub grout started to fail within the first week and we ended up with 6 extra boxes of floor tile. They did credit our bill for the extra floor tile. When I tried to use the tub the first time there was a problem with the water pressure. They ultimately fixed that but when I tried to use the shower the first time there was no cold water so it was scalding hot. Apparently there was a part in the valve that was broken or that they broke. A replacement part was bought and they still couldn't get it to work. The 2nd Project Mgr (I was told the first one no longer worked there) called me and told me it wasn't working and asked if he could go buy another shower valve similar to the one we bought. I said, "That is fine but we won't accept a cheap replacement". He assured me it would be good quality. I got home to find that they had to remove two of the tiles from the shower (which I knew nothing about) but the part they bought was a cheap $100 replacement and what we bought was almost $300 so we were not happy. They installed the plumbing for the vanity before the vanity even arrived which meant that the installation was difficult. According to the contractors doing the work they told us, "You guys bought the wrong size vanity"." No one ever told us what size vanity to buy. The problem was that they put the plumbing in before they even knew what we purchased. They cut sloppy holes in the shelves of the vanity to accommodate the plumbing and have since fixed this by making new shelves but I've lost most of my space on the bottom shelf. The silicone they put around the toilet came off after about 7-10 days and they grouted around the tub when that should've really been silicone. They ultimately did install silicone around the tub but they also put it in the shower. We never asked for silicone in the shower and it looks sloppy. They also countersunk the tub and that wasn't how it was designed to be installed. We had an existing pocket door that just needed a new latch on it which they installed but now it's off track and scratching the paint on both sides. The only thing they are good at is reminding customers that a payment is due. I would not recommend Treeium to my worst enemy!
Used this site, all you get are scammers, bums, thieves and flakes. Many of the people are a waste of time. Tried to adopt a cat from some Asian girl out in the Seattle area and she decided to waste my time by saying she changed her mind, instead of sending a text, she wanted to tell me in person. Now that I think about it she was likely on something and couldn't text, she seemed like she wasn't all there anyway. Charged her $20 for wasting my time. Another time got a couple who were renting a room in Omaha Nebraska when I needed to rent a place while there on business and they kept changing the rent and bumming for money, and the woman was a nutcase, her boyfriend just did whatever she wanted him to do. I left within a month after the woman stole stuff out of my room. Reported them to the police for theft. If you try and sell stuff you get people wanting cheap and near free stuff, offering lowball prices or worst yet, they don't show. Get weird often stupid questions like they're coming from a little kid. Try to buy a service you'll get people who change the price last minute from the agreed upon price for the service.
Most people on Craigslist don't have real jobs, have mental issues, or addiction issues, or are simply bums and thieves and lie to get their way. I hate Craigslist, the people that use the site take my adds down via flagging, even though they don't violate anything. The site is useless. Use Offerup for buying and selling, much better place, or do it the old fashioned way, put flyers out in your local area. If wanting a place to rent, go to actual sites that specialize in rentals. AirBNB is a good site for short term rentals and vacation rentals. Craigslist is sketchy with a sketchy crowd. You use Craigslist at your own risk. The site should be shut down. Very few legit people use the site, though there are some legit people who use Craigslist, just not that many like on the other sites like AirBNB and Offerup. The legit people who do use the site treat you with suspicion because it's Craigslist which I understand but it makes it impossible to want to do any kind of business. Recommend using the local community hangouts and gathering places to post announcements or other community related stuff instead. If you want to adopt a pet go to a rescue or shelter, or use sites like PetFinder, and RescueMe or simply ask around in the community if someone is looking for a new home for their pet.
