Craigslist arbitrarily deletes ads and systematically lies about it, claiming that ads not displayed are published and visible; it's been getting away with this for more than a decade. There are no clear-cut rules about links in ads; it's suggested that too many cause ads to be flagged for removal, but even when all links to external information are removed, Craigslist continues to delete the ad, never providing any explanation whatsoever. All kinds of scams and frauds are tolerated and dealers constantly post as private owners, but I cannot advertise my own $70 computer for sale because the ad is repeatedly removed. Morons try to make out that Craigslist's problems are posters' instead.
In all sincerity if you are clueless when it comes to car parts than us women truly have no other choice than to bring it to an auto shop. As these men take advantage of our vulnerability, the last $5 dollars I gave the guy were in quarters and dimes, and he had the guts to beat me. Karma knows no deadline. It's sucks for the truly good people out there that are trying to make am extra buck that these maggots take away from us the customer and other potential mobile mechanics. I'm done I'll walk before I get beat again.
I am five other people have been ripped off by somebody Chad Michael Bruns renting a house room in St Augustine. He claims there is a washer and dryer on-site as well as a stove oven range. This is a scam! He took my money personally and never put it towards rent the electricity went out and the internet went out while I was there in one month. I tried to contact Craigslist multiple times and they did not stop him from continuing to post. I have people after I have left their complaining because of my posts on Craigslist about him. Yes I am posting about somebody who ripped me off in the housing market apartments rented rooms. This is sad that Craigslist will not take care of the issue and will not do anything at all after 2 months now of me posting against a rip-off artist!
Incredibly irresponsible! I confirmed three times with Brett that my husband was meeting him to pick up a refrigerator. We accommodated our schedule for him, and drove out an hour to meet him. The guy completely fakes!
I have been disenchanted by craigslist. It is time for a change please, anything visual would be nice. Oh and the forums are a nightmare! Every time I try to comment on them I get voted off in little to no time (no i am not using curses or any other violation) then I have to wait another seven days if I want to use the forum again. Don't waste your time there. Also most everyone has some kinda spam going. Maybe my experience is just a special one. But I am ready to move on. Besides I can't even get my town on there. The closet one is 2 hours away!
Great website for almost anyone. My family and I have purchased many items for greatly discounted prices from very nice people. Extremely reliable site. However, when making purchases locally and picking things up we always travel in pairs to the pick-up sites, just to be safe. Amazing site!
This site is amazing; I have gotten my car, my rat cage, and my kitchen table/chairs here, all at ridiculously low prices for great quality. Plus 2 jobs that I found posted here. It just has every major thing you could ever need!
Obviously just make sure you see photos of what you are buying, do your research, see it in person before committing to the sale, etc so you don't get ripped off.
Love this place for finding deals or selling something, however there are way to many shady people who use the adult personals part. Other than that it is great, one of the best places on the internet.
I love craigslist, but you have to be really careful since there are a lot of scammers there. There are some simple security measures like buying only locally, meeting real people before making any financial decisions, etc. I bought my first car from craigslist from a local guy in Minnesota, and although I was very afraid since the car was used and the price cheap, it turned out great. My 1997 Geo Prism ran just great until an idiot smashed it on a road 3 months ago (thanks God I'm alive!). I also like to browse craigslist for free stuff, garage/estate sales and musical instruments, but seldom buy anything. I think it's a great site to connect with people. I got very little scam BTW, actually only once and it was very obvious.
We attempted advertising services on Craigslist however it created nothing but spam. I don't even think we ever got any legit responses from it. We now have not advertised for probably almost 2 years and are still receiving emails that claim "your listing on craigslist". What a waste of time and energy..
FREE STUFF... do I need to say more? You can often find people giving away items if they are moving or no longer need it. It is like an online garage sale everyday of the week. Plus the jobs section is great and updated daily.
Great place to find unique items and good deals! There is always a certain risk factor when meeting a stranger, so take the necessary safety precautions when a sale takes place. Meet in a public area for the exchange, make sure you are never home alone, only bring enough cash to pay for said item, and be aware of your surroundings. Either way, I have had MANY great exchanges via this website! Great idea and I highly recommend using!
Who needs local garbage newspapers? I have bought and sold on craigslist.org many, many times. Even if I'm not buying or selling, I find it very entertaining just looking at what's out there. I love motorcycles and check the ads everyday to see other peoples toys. The only note of caution is to limit your level of trust when doing a deal. This site gives lots of tips and warnings on this. Usually, people who actually call tend to be sincere and on the level. The ones who just respond with emails are more suspicious, especially if they say they're from out of town or being a middleman for someone else. Overall this site is invaluable.
My experience with Craigslist have been good. I was able to sell a few quality items. And there are legit buyers out there willing to pay but you just have to know how to weed out the scams. Some are so obvious that it's hard to believe people fall for them. Scams are going to come from any site that is free. If you are a very trusting person then don't deal with anyone on craigslist. Don't give interested buyers or sellers your phone number right away. Communicate via email thru craigslist. I went as far as creating an email soley dedicated to craigslist buyers/sellers communication once a date & time of transaction is set. DON'T BE A SUCKER!
Problem with CL just gotten to big an not enough support for customers. That's why facebook will take over the classifieds but I did notice on google I saw buysaleandtrade.com they're advertising no fees for classified and auctions while using customers facebook profiles.
Craigslist is pretty good if you want to sell your comics and DVDs. I made successful sales of my Superman comic books and the customer didn't try to haggle for a lower price. If the price is reasonable, you won't deal with difficult customers. Every once in awhile, there's an annoying phone call but it's infrequent. The pets section is toxic, though, so do well enough to avoid.
I cannot get any answers from anyone at Craigslist why they continue to remove my legal & ethical ads, an ad I've used for three plus years that is suddenly being removed without explanation. Poor business practice on their part. Equally frustrating, no one to contact at their home office for help. Again, poor business practice
I love craigslist.
There's always new material every day and though there are some scam posts- craigslist usually is able to catch onto em.
You can search by typing, by image, by minimum or maximum dollars, etc.
There are so many GOOD things about craigslist that it outweighs the bad. :)
I dated this hot mess for 12 weeks last year. Worst decision of my life! Has lived at home mooching off his wonderful mother for many many years! He doesn't want a relationship due to the fact that he his bipolar and not on needed meds, he snaps in a second. Smokes pot, has slept with many women in exchange for pot! This man by his own words is only good for one thing an incapable of a relationship! He states in his ad he wants another child? He and his ex wife both drug addicts didn't even raise the child they had! Her mother did! Steer clear of this loser unless you are looking for a user, drunk, taker, whore that sleeps around for drugs, and can even afford to support himself. This is my experience with him and he will never change, never fully commit, mooch off of you, sleep with everything and anything! He has a bad temper and will snap on a dime. And absolutely no talking while he is watching the news! Lol he's a nut bag. Incapable of loving anyone but him.
I love this site! It is great for selling furniture or even for picking up a good deal here and there. After my son told me about it, I was able to sell a whole heap of things we had sitting in our garage. Very happy with the overall experience and the best part is that it is free! Thank you Craigslist.
Answer: Because the dealers pay them. Craigslist has turned into a spammers haven. There are next to no real postings left. The scammers flag real postings so their ads get priority. Its a dead site.
Craigslist has a rating of 1.8 stars from 513 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Craigslist most frequently mention customer service, several times and phone number. Craigslist ranks 188th among Classifieds sites.
