Great website to find work, items your looking to buy, or other classifieds. This website I have used to sell items, give away items, or look for jobs and has worked for me in all three ways. The only issue with the site is that there are a lot of false postings and you need to be careful what you post, how much information you give, and really consider if you are making smart and safe decisions.
CL is a horrendous platform. Anyone can flag your posts and get them removed, and it seems even CL mods can judge users and remove their posts without any warning or explanation. It's basically the Twitter of online classifieds since apparently, any mouth-breathing, hot pocket eating CL moderator can sit slouched in their cubicle and remove posts, no matter how innocuous they are. Do they then issue an explanation? No. Are there prompts not to post stuff they don't like? No. Do they have a functional help forum? No. It's like a game for them.
B and C Northwest installed 5 rooms of carpeting in my home for $4100. After 3 years I noticed the seams were separating in two bedroom doorways. I called Biff to repair the seams beginning in October 2018. After 7 months of calling, texting and emailing, I am still waiting for the carpet to be repaired. I got many excuses and then no shows. I consider him to be neither dependable or reliable. I would NOT recommend this company for installation of flooring
This site has been immensely helpful in so many ways. The apartment ads are often scams and we have driven to some ads thinking it was for real only to learn it was a sure fire scam. I felt bad that so many who are new to the area or English is their second language may not know what to spot as a scam. This site used to be excellent but because of the scams it has gone down hill. I still use it, but buyer beware!
I contacted him on Craigslist, to move a washer and dryer I found an awesome deal! 85.00 to pick up, deliver, & install (I thought a little high but I needed to pick up quickly). My old units were still in place I was not able to loose the hose. So he had no tools and said he would be back the following day. When I messaged him he noted he would move and haul away for 75. 00. 160. 00 total. I requested just finish the install. He wanted to wait until the other units were gone, they were completely out of his way. After multiple texts I realized he was not going to respond or come back, even when I told him I was 64 and did not have the additional. So the last message was you will get a terrific referral! He showed up, after I had moved and install the hoses myself. So if this guy responds run!

You do have to be careful with who you deal with and Never pay in Western Union or wire transfer, but I have picked up several good deals here.
Both of my dogs came from CL posts, A pure bred Husky for 80 dollars and a Mini Pincher for free! Both excellent, well behaved dogs who I adore. I also managed to build up a good business using CL and no longer worry about being unable to pay my bills after two years of unemployment.
There are a lot of scammers on this site so you have to be careful about meeting strangers online, but if you're careful and trust your instincts you can get really good deals. Just be smart and careful and never met a stranger by yourself.
I have been posting in craigslist 50 items for each month 3.00 per post now the raised the price for 5.00 no thank you not for me anymore Facebook market is free
All of the inquiries about the items I posted were a scam. I dont know how you can have this web site that encourages those people that want to get over. Very disappointed. The buyers should be vetted before getting to the seller. It does not seem that people at craigslist care.
Great work, usually use this site. Here you'll find anything you want! Well, sometimes on dating you'll see a lot of nude pics. Not, I lie, you'll see them always. But if you're searching something else - site will help you
So I think it's cool
I just went in to search for a rental house. OMG I am in San Diego county. Most of what came up is Riverside or LA counties. East county had NOTHING! Never ran into that before. It seems to be more problematic with each search layout change. I am going looking for somewhere else to search. Enough already.
Right in the middle of everywhere in the world we are fighting inflation craigslist raises the price of an ad from $3.00 to $5.00 with no addition of features. Just give me more money they said.
With a grain of salt (or several grains) I like craigs list - has helped me sell much stuff. However they make no effort to keep scams (esp the ones that offer ways to make money) off. Many scams are obvious to the ones of us who have been around, however some are well baited - - beware
Craigslist is starting to charge across all categories for advertising, whether it's for professional services of any kind, etc. I've used it for 10 yrs as part of my advertising strategy, and have only gotten 4-5 clients over that time, so for free, it's fine to use. If they're going to charge me, I want to see the metrics of how many people view my ads, where they're from, time of day, day of week, all the professional metrics that a business would expect out of a for-profit advertising platform. Obviously they don't have that and never will release metrics like that to the public. There are lots of other free sites that are used as much as Craigslist now, which has lost its popularity over the last several years. That's where I'm going.
I recently used Two Nice Men Moving company out of Vancouver. They took 6 hours to load a 2 bedroom apt. When I complained to the owner about the time they took he was abusive to me and to his two movers. Don't use these movers they are a scam. They took so long loading the truck for very limited items. I had to look out the window to see what they were doing as I could not believe they were gone that long between loads. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Craigslist is a great place to sell or post a 'wanted' ad... Until someone 'flags' you for no reason and craigslist simply sees their flag and takes your ad down cut and dry.no reasons(s) given. They believe anyone.actually they don't believe anyone except someone hitting the 'flag' sign. It's automatic for them. Craigslist is a spineless organization that doesn't know the difference between right and wrong. They don't even follow their own guidelines about treating people fairly.
I have posted at least 100 times this week and followed every rules when posting but yet every time there's people ganging up on my posts. They are literally flag abusing my posts. And I've tried contacted Craigslist several times but all I get is an automated response. Craigslist just wants your money, and unless you are paying for an add, they won't help your situation. This is getting old and frustrating.
All you get for posting something to sell on craigs list is trolls scams and spam. Its not worth the time to post anything. They know it, we know it sir hope they consider shutting it down. Its just a place where shady crappy awful people hang out and wait to prey. A very dark useless place.
Room to rent at 182 Orchid Drive, Mastic Beach for $650 with many extras. Ken is actually not the owner of the property but is renting the house and in turn renting out rooms to other individuals. Found out that not only no extras but kitchen undergoing repair (with no finish in sight) no counter space and had to provide own microwave and keep in room which very small. Proved to be a very uncomfortable and bit bizarre situation. Arrangements were not suitable to either party so Ken notified that he wanted the room vacated by 1st of month two weeks beforehand. Then on the 1st when everything was removed he informed that he did not have the security deposit! Told to come back following Saturday where yet again told not only did he not have it but he knew from the start he had spent it and lied just to get belongings removed. Now in the process of having to go to small claims court. Bizarre experience so beware of this rental..
Looking for a used car in "owner only" section. No matter what city I look at, there is roughly 30% or more fake ads, and dealers trying to mislead people. 2 year old car for $1501? Wasting a ridiculous amount of time figuring out which ads are real, and which are fake. No way to complain to Craigslist, and they in NO WAY police their own site for these leaches that are obvious! I stopped using the site, too much of a time waster!
Rented a room on mission village drive in San Diego from a guy named George. He wanted $750 a month, which seemed like a good deal for the size of the room. However, in a very short time I realized the house was horrible. Breaker would go out if I used a tiny little space heater (about size of a small toaster) because the heat was never on and the house was freezing. Kitchen was disgusting, had cockroaches, sink didn't work and there was grease stains everywhere. He tried to complain about me making noise because I was sick (literally can't control that). When he has over 25 birds in his garage that make noise all the time. I could go on and on, but overall horrible place to live.
Answer: Because the dealers pay them. Craigslist has turned into a spammers haven. There are next to no real postings left. The scammers flag real postings so their ads get priority. Its a dead site.
Craigslist has a rating of 1.8 stars from 513 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Craigslist most frequently mention customer service, several times and phone number. Craigslist ranks 188th among Classifieds sites.
